Shepherd Love is a mess ™️

Shepherd is one of my favorite characters in the series, but he is a little bit of a mess. See below.

He knows about magic and…. is part of an online community for it

When he was 18, he got drunk for the first time with a creek dryad who told him her life story.

He owes ‘at least 3 imps his firstborn’

Befriended trolls with bone broth

Midwifed a centaur foal

Helped a unfairy with taxes

Swore on his life he wouldn’t tell about the Snowbaz plus penny thing

Went backpacking with a Sasquatch and gave it his toothbrush

Met a water/river spirit… by introducing himself to it

Used to be a storm chaser now chases Magic because it’s more thrilling

Willingly goes into a vampire lair with not much hope of escaping alive.

Starts to try and tell a vampire named Josh his life story some highlights include: ‘My name is Shepard, I’m from Omaha’ and ‘My parents are divorced, how about you’

Tried to warn Josh the vampire that drinking his blood is a really really bad idea

Promptly kills that vampire when the vampire tried.

‘And I am also slightly… a little bit… cursed’

‘Wrong place, wrong time… a series of miscommunications and cultural differences’

The curse left him ‘well and truly fucked’

He’s now an illegal immigrant

He tried to get help from the curse from a genie

He learned of the curse ritual from ‘some guy I met’

He lost his third born child to a giant for the ritual

The demon he summoned? He actually got engaged to it…

He was not forced to marry it, he asked for its hand… on accident

He has tried to hook up with a fairy

It is highly implied that he has gone home with other creatures

He lost his firstborn child to three imps

Lost his last name by telling it to a fairy.

He got an STD from a merperson, but don’t worry, he’s only a carrier

i dont write out lore for them that often, i think i only have formal lore posts for sulu and pupet (who havent/arnt on the color wheel haha)

but for a brief rundown on who IS present so far:

Felsic is an imp, who to be honest doesnt have much lore around him since he was created mostly to scratch a character design itch.

RHEA has a butt-load of context though. she's the primary protagonist of a story about dreams called Delta. she's a lucid dreamer who works for a nightmare lord named Raken to prevent the dreaming queen from putting everyone into a perpetual sleep by only giving people perfect dreams. irronically her motivations are to become as perfect as possible herself which gets real messy real fast.

Felis is just a silly little cat astronaut from Transient and is a close friend of Sulu's. They have a stereotypical cat-like personality (impulsive, doesnt like being told what to do, does things on their own terms, affectionate, silly/goofy) and actually is a cosmic implant/TRUE astronaut in the story. all the other inhabitants are fish or fish related, but Felis is the only cat and they have to wear a spacesuit bc theyre ""underwater"". sandy cheeks mother fucker.

Myrsin is a plant person from Alliacea. theyre an avatar for the magic gate that pulls lost souls onto the island of Alliacea. they havent been a person very long and dont really know how it works but theyre trying their best.

the next few are going to be Pacific (also from Alliacea), Sulu (transient), Rem (a semi-antagonist for Delta) and either Function (antagonist for transient) or Seam (antagonist for stitch in the ditch)

#i dont post lore that often to begin with but i also know that anything i have is WILDLY outdated #like Alliacea is insanely different from what it was #even transient is nothing like the original pitch I made last year #also calling things by name feels SO corny/dorky but also thank god these stories have names bc otherwise it would be so hard to explain

thinking about how leo fell to his knees after the blow of the whistle in both the copa america and wc final but i do think there's smth a touch different about the copa final.. it's the sheer RELIEF you could see in his face and in the hunch of his shoulders and in his tears.. like the weight of the world finally shifting from atlas's shoulders.. he seemed much more fragile in that moment than in the wc where he seemed much more.. idk, self-assured?

Dw anon, it really really isn’t! Technically the protags first meet when one is a kid, but it’s very brief and one-sided and nothing even remotely romantic happens until they’re both older than dirt. I’ll also hide a more detailed spoilery description of the main relationship in the tags if you’re still worried ^^;

…However, there are whole host of other actual content warnings to make note of for TGCF that you can find here.

decided to take the high road here.

If the customers are so offended by my natural voice, I’ll do the right thing to keep everyone happy and I won’t say a single word to any one so that no one will be hurt and offended by a “girl” having a slightly deeper monotone voice. since it’s such a huge issue and apparently an ongoing problem we’ve gotten complaints about I am sure all the customers will understand and will be grateful to never hear my horrible awful voice again <3

"DIY tiny home you can build in weeks", ok... now lets see the cost

...seven and a half minutes later, the answer is $75k... so when you include land and all the rest of it, so basically nothing right?

This is my problem with tiny homes stuff, it's for rich people

#and as much as I'm pro home ownership since like... my house is pretty much what's made my life feasible #like I know two things for a fact; we don't have room to give every last person a house #(especially if they're basically one bedroom sized things dotting the land) #and not everyone even wants to own a home #but like... lets say that everyone did want to own a place... we can't even do single family stuff let alone infinite tiny homes #so you'd need to have at least some homes in the form of basically owned units in an apartment complex which... sounds like condos #and so... I legit don't even come close to having the answer for this #but the sad thing is... a commie block kind of beats a tiny home if we're honest I think #not even in some like... brutalist dystopian shoving people together kind of way #like I think I'd rather live in a well maintained commie block style apartment than in one of infinite tiny homes doting the land #I really really really like tiny homes as a concept... but every time you look at them you realize... it's all for rich people #and half of them are just gentrified trailers or closet sized apartments getting dressed up by an architect to up the price #like I'm not even trying to shit on this company cause like I'm for assembly line style home production #especially compared to the cheap shit we throw up now; it makes me with I could puke in anger and disgust at it #they showed clips to contrast with of a home being tossed up and the shit materials they use disgust me #seeing massive... whatever you call those new home blights... communities I guess; springing up they always look like they're made of trash #so yeah... I like this building style better than shitty single family homes 'from the low 300s' #but I think that these people are either doing a sales pitch; missing the big picture; or both when they talk about this #like this can't fix the housing crisis cause... one no one can afford shit even if it's... lets say $175k; that's a lot to ask most people #but two is it won't work long term to just dot a million little houses across the land #cause quite apart from finding all that land; think of all the electric grid and water infrastructure you have to lay #(or are these people expected to be able to afford solar and all that? cause... they ain't poor if they're doing that) #(and I'd kind of like poor people to not be screwed by the housing problems we have; the rich can get bent honestly) #I like living on my own in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere; I wouldn't want someone right next to me #so I'm literally the kind of person people bitching about rural folks is bitching about; so know that's not what I'm saying #but let's be honest... we need better and cheaper urban infrastructure and we need less suburbs and housing communities #and that's where the solution is gonna lie; not in reinventing the single family home (or smaller) #eh...
