AN: Welcome Elise and Jacques 😂 I found this conversation between Elise and George so hard so a big thank you @armoricaroyalty for both lending me his lovely (and less lovely) sims but also helping me work through it and figure out how these two parents and senior royals approach this situation (aka writing big chunks of this!)

George - I’m sorry to say that this happened right under my nose. But it cannot be allowed to continue.

Elise - Of course not, Vivi will be returning home now. I want to personally thank you for letting me know about these developments. We knew she was here but her absence is starting to draw attention that we just cannot afford right now.

George - You’re welcome Elise. As a parent, I would want to know what was happening to a member of my family.

Elise- Can I ask how you found out? If this is going to get into the media-

George- It was simply a concerned party and I have every confidence they will be discreet - I will make sure it's in their best interest to be

Elise - I confess I am disappointed in Vivi - but she is young and often impressionable. I believe Charles took advantage of that naivety. A lot of young women wouldn’t be able to resist a handsome foreign man

George - My son has his weaknesses but he should have known better

Elise - How is Victoria coping?

George - She has no idea and I would like to keep it that way. There is no reason for her to know now that it is over.

Elise - You really think she hasn’t noticed anything amiss?

George - Trust me, I have a good handle on what is happening in my own family. And besides, why would she? She has plenty of things to keep her busy - including the upcoming baby.

Margaret - Come in Katherine.

Katherine – The briefing has come through for next week's service of remembrance - you will be seated next to Robert at the end of the front row. Transport has now been confirmed as an SUV with police escort.

Margaret - Are you going in advance or riding with me?

Katherine - I’ll be with you this time - Sarah said she will cover the advance as she will be there anyway. No point in another person going ahead.

Margaret - Perfect.

Was there something else?

Katherine - It's just…..

Margaret - Spit it out Katherine, I'm supposed to be getting ready for the Beauman show this afternoon. Vivi and I are the guests of honour.

Katherine - Well that's what I wanted to talk about. You both are making quite a splash in the media right now

Margaret - I saw we were on the front page of the Illyrian Post this morning - Its a good shot.

Katherine - Yes, it's been very positive here. But in Armorica? For at least two weeks questions have been swirling about her whereabouts and i’ve seen many comments that are angry that she has deserted her family when things got tough. For some reason the royal family hadn’t publicised that Vivi was on holiday. The press was pretty surprised when she popped up here.

Margaret - Why is the media strategy of the St.Fleurs relevant to me?

Katherine - The coverage you both are getting at Fashion week might draw the wrong sort of attention to Vivi and cause some backlash for her. Are you sure she should be seen at these kinds of frivolous events given the circumstances back home?

Margaret - We are just having fun! It's totally harmless and for a good cause, why would anyone have an issue with that?

Vivi - Margaret said something last night…

Charles - Oh she did, did she?

Vivi - She said that Robert is the only one of you that gets to have his happily ever after

Charles - My sister is so dramatic

Vivi - What did she mean?

Charles - She was referring to the fact that I married Victoria because that is what my father wanted

Vivi - And that's the only reason?

Charles - He thought it was for the best. Illyria will need a Queen when I become King and Victoria ticked all the boxes. When my father gets his mind set on something its pretty much impossible to get him to change it.

Anyway - we make it work I guess. I wouldn’t listen to Margarets hyperbole

*They continue walking*

Charles - Vivi why are you really here in Illyria?

Vivi - I had to get away for a while

Charles - Of course - everyone needs an escape

Vivi - Especially people like us.

Charles - Have you ever...escaped before?

Vivi - [blushing like a tomato] Yes. Once.

Charles - What?

Vivi - [flustered] Just once, in Uspana…

Charles - And met a handsome stranger who stole your heart.

Vivi - No, I met a guy and...we enjoyed ourselves

Charles - And that's all it was? Just a bit of fun, and back to your husband?

Vivi - No. Things are...complicated at home.

Charles – Oh

Charles – I um- I understand. Now, are you ready for some lunch?

Vivi – I think I am

Margaret - Depends how you look at it. My mother has passed over the patronage of Illyrian fashion Week to me this year. She says it's because she thinks it could do with ‘fresh new energy’ but I know she just wants to keep me busy and somewhere where her spies can keep an eye on me

Vivi - And what does this have to do with me?

Margaret - I thought we could go together! Have some cocktails and make an obligation fun!

Vivi - Isn’t Laurel your usual plus one?

Margaret - I can have more than one. But I want to go with you. I’ve seen how you have changed while you have stayed with me. I see new confidence, new energy. Vivi - the light has come back into your eyes again

George - He was -I don't know what has changed. Scott is away at the moment and hasn’t been able to give me a recent update.

Laurel - I think I can help shed some light on this.

Robert - We asked to visit you today because I proposed to Alexandra during our trip to Lancaster Palace over the weekend, and she said yes

Elizabeth - Oh sweetheart! That is just wonderful! Congratulations

George - Yes congratulations. *as an aside* Though are you forgetting the act of parliament? The one where you need to gain my permission?

Robert - Not at all Father. But you weren't going to object anyway were you?

George - No. But you could have warned me.

George - Well this couldn’t have come at a better time now that I think about it. Weddings bring economic upswing - tourism rises too.

Elizabeth - And weddings are such happy family occasions too -

George - I will have Yvonne arrange a meeting by the end of this week with the Master of the Household, the Archbishop, and I guess we’d better get the Prime Minister's office involved. They thought they were involved too late with Charles. They will want to have a say in the date- which is absolutely ridiculous but we will at least give them that illusion I suppose. Robert, what does your calendar look like for the rest of the month?

*George walks Robert over to the side while Alex looks a bit shell shocked*

Elizabeth - So, Alexandra! Have you given any thought to what style of dress you want to wear?

George - You don’t seem that surprised by this news.

Elizabeth - Of course not, I knew what he was planning. I helped him with the ring in the end. But I didn’t know if she had accepted or not.

George - I guess it was inevitable really, after two years

Elizabeth - Do try and seem a little bit enthused George

George - Im not denying its a solid match - her aristocratic background, she's young, educated, scandal free-

Elizabeth - They are actually in love-

George – Not exactly the most important consideration here. But that father of hers has some strange notions that he likes to express at all opportunities. And the wife -

George - Now we will have to host them so much more frequently. And at family events!

Charles - *behind the sales assistants back* Like they haven’t held a royal warrant since our great great grandfather was King

Margaret - For once in your life can you shut up?

Robert – I was beginning to think you weren’t coming Margaret - Im not going to let you down

Charles - What about that one?

Margaret - Of course you would choose the biggest one. Size isn't the most important consideration you know.

Charles - Why not? Why shouldn’t Alexandra have the biggest, shiniest diamond Robert can give her? She’s about to become a Princess, doesn’t she deserve it?

Robert - She deserves everything I could give her.

Margaret - Alexandra has taste, and she needs a ring that reflects that! She has to wear it for the rest of her life.

Robert - she hasn’t said yes yet

*Both ignore Robert* Charles - I have taste

Margaret - Since when? I don’t know why Robert brought you

Charles - Because he wanted his big brother by his side as he makes this decision! Things may go south if he chooses the wrong ring….
