#knierim and frazier

Keep in mind as the Men’s assignments are announced today, that Jason and Ilia are both scheduled with Art on Ice February 2 - 12. (This is why Alexa and Brandon are not going to 4CC, as they are also scheduled with AoI.) Four Continents is scheduled February 7 - 12.

I know it is a weird comment but... doesn't Frazier reminds you of Shrek when he was in human form?

Alexa Knierim & Brandon Frazier
Country: USA Age: 31 & 29 Career highlight: World Champions in 2022 SP music: Separate Ways by Journey (from Stranger Things)
Comments: The superstars of the roster at the MK John Wilson Trophy! Knierim and Frazier are the reigning world champions and should come to this competition with plenty of swagger. They won Skate America recently and although that competition for gold for closer than they were probably expecting, I don’t think they have such dangerous rivals in Sheffield and they’ll hopefully have cleaned up their free program (where they made some mistakes).
They have a lot of great elements and they skate “big”. Looking at their previous scores, they reliably get positive GOE on at least of all their non-jump elements, which really does add up. Her personality is very... loud... (see their different reactions in the kiss and cry above!) and I love when that comes through in their performances. I think they’re going to be very impressive to watch live.

Per US Figure Skating Fan Zone article, it looks like Knierim and Frazier might be done.
Knierim is moving to Illinois to join her husband, and Frazier will be going back to school in September and has an internship lined up for when their touring is over.
They are not, however, ruling out competing again.

2022 Worlds Entry #3
Pairs short program
Knierim/Frazier(USA)
Thoughts: they try so hard to make Brandon not just a boring lift accessory. I didn’t like the neckline on Alex’s dress
Miura/Kihara(KPN)
Thoughts: Riku is adorable. She deserved better video quality.
Pairs free program
Knierim/Frazier(USA)
Thoughts: the back of Alexa’s dress is so pretty. And I love her hairstyle.
 Men free program
Graham Newberry(GBR)
Thoughts: this program wasn’t his best work. But I still love watching him because he’s gorgeous AF.

GPF Torino 22 - Pairs SP - Starting Order and Predictions
1. Miura/Kihara - 🇯🇵 - my prediction is it’s going to come down to cleanliness because the judging panel will give K/F the edge in PCS if they’re both clean (even if I don’t agree at ALL, especially since both teams have very different strengths and styles in their skating). BUT I definitely think M/K are more likely to skate clean, especially if they have been able to continue to rest and rep to continue their growth and putting more difficulty back in.
2. Knierim/Frasier - 🇺🇸 - while they have grown so obviously strong and confident over the last 2 seasons, both of them have a tendency to overthink the sbs and some throws when the pressure gets up there. Especially in the SP.
Between these two teams, the scores will realistically only be somewhere between .10 and 2.0 points difference as long as neither has a major issue. Which means that it will of course really come down to the Free. In my personal opinion, given the overall Composition and packaging between the two teams, I truly believe they M/R will win if they skate clean and all of their attempted levels.
3. Stellato-Dudek/DesChamps - 🇨🇦 - with how ON this team had been this season, especially with Deanna’s tenacity and hunger — I would be shocked if they have more than a bobble or two on some landings. If so, even against Ghilardi/Ambrosini on home ice, these two have a very clear shot at a 🥉. (Honeslty, if the top two teams has some issues… they could very easily compete for silver.) and honeslty? I’m so here for it, I am so darn proud of Deanna and Maxime has made so many improvements over the last few seasons, that I just want to keep seeing how far they can really climb.
4. Ghilardi/Ambrosini - 🇮🇹 - despite how much I love Deanna, if G/A skate their best (which, as showmen, they certainly can do on home ice), I really hope Rebecca and Fillipo can really have a MOMENT this weekend 🥺🙏🏻 it would really mean so much for them.
5. Chan/Howe - 🇺🇸
6. Conti/Macii - 🇮🇹
Overall, like I said in my first post, this Pairs event really is going to be a treat. Each team is SO different, and there will be so many different types of programs, lifts and styles we will be able to see. Genuinely, if these 6 teams show their best like they all pretty much have this season, this is going to be a great competition. (AND if everyone doesn’t skate clean, there could be a real shock on the medal stand that will be just as valid and deserved as any of my fairly ‘expected’ predictions.
