Quite the question, but was does "kitty pwroars" mean? I've followed you for so long and every time I see the tag I wonder and today I'm feeling bold enough to ask. I mean obviously I know what "kitty" means but you know

Kitty-pwroars is very much an inside joke from high school that truly needs to be heard to be appreciated.

One of my oldest friends, Molly, had a baby cousin come to visit her who was extremely enamored with her cat. Said cousin would chase the cat around going, "Kitty-pwroar! Kitty ta-na-na!" (The "kitty-pwroar" bit is essentially kitty + an exaggerated, nasally purr sound effect.)

When Molly related all of this to me, with an affected little kid voice, it cracked me up, and became one of those constant echolalia things we'd pepper into conversations for years afterwards. Eventually, it just became part of the Angie B. Vocabulary/Lore, lololol.

Just realized I haven’t posted here about the latest addition to the Detectives.

Meet Lord Peter Wimsey. Born April 19th (so he’s just shy of 7 months), he was the runt of the litter and has absolutely NO self-preservation skills -- and, I believe, a touch of Wobbly Cat Syndrome, given how uncoordinated he is, with his constant falling over, inability to walk in a straight line OR land on his feet when he jumps off things, and the constant tremors in his limbs -- so I just HAD to rescue him from farm life for his own good. That lil scar on his nose is a souvenir from a meeting with a coyote, which carried off two of his siblings.

He is a very demanding, screamy boy with a taste for blood -- he does not “nip” at you, no, this boy CHOMPS with the full force of his entire jaw and all the pointiness of needle kitten teeth. I’ve resigned myself to permanent finger bandages at this point. I’ve tried three kinds of shampoo and he STILL is a dandruff factory, and his mouth smells like a combination fishery and garbage dump under a midday sun. BUT he’s also very snuggly and loving and puts up with a LOT. He is unafraid of almost everything, including hair dryers and his angry older sisters. He and Nick are bosom bros and do most everything together. Tomorrow he goes in to get a wee lil`vasectomy, and I hope that rids him of some of his bitey tendencies.

For those keeping track at home, this brings my number of cats up to five; Nick and Nora Charles, Phryne Fisher, and Miss Marple are the other Detectives.

I’ve started taking daily walks in the cemetery across the street in an attempt to actually exercise/hopefully make my pants fit a little looser. Yesterday was Day Four, and the cemetery gave me an unexpected gift.

Meet Miss Marple. She’ll be joining the other Detectives once the doc gives her a clean bill of health Friday; for now, she’s quarantined in the bathroom where she SCREMS constantly for hugs, is a very messy eater, and loves to perch on my shoulder. T_____T

(NOTE: she is the TINIEST of smol babs. Her head is the size of a golf ball and she can’t weigh more than few ounces. I keep crying when she purrs.)

for those who haven’t heard the saga on my facebook: there’s a house next to mine that is falling slowly inwards (like a flan in a cupboard) and about three weeks ago i noticed a little grey kit prowling around it, eating bugs and batting at the flowers.

through weeks of careful enticement, i’ve managed to lure LGK onto my own porch, and this weekend we had a breakthrough. she (at least, i believe LGK is a she, as i haven’t made out a wee meat and two veg) is now coming eagerly up to me for food and scritches. she’s begun jumping onto the living room window sill and screaming for attention. and she even tried to dart into the house and follow me into my car today.

when the Universe sends you a kitty-pwroar, you have to accept that it’s Fate. and i’m hardly gonna look a gift kitten in the mouth, especially since i already know her teeny fangs are needle-sharp, so i plan on taking LGK to the local vet within the next two days to get her de-flea-ed, vaccinated, and the bits snipped. once all of that is accomplished, the adoption is gonna be official and i’ll be unveiling her Official Name.

the kitten formerly know as Little Grey Kit got a clean bill of general health from the doctor, so...

MEET MISS PHRYNE FISHER.

according to the doc she’s two months old and “remarkably healthy for an outdoor stray”. she’s currently quarantined in the library away from nick and nora until her parasite screening is back and she’s more settled with her change of living circumstances. she weighs a mere two pounds and is predominately eyes and meow and is a snuggly precious baby. i’m very glad the Universe sent her to me.

realized i hadn’t updated y’all here re: my recent rescue, miss phryne fisher.

she spent the last two weeks in quarantine thanks to some wormy issues, but got a clean bill of health on friday and was given free reign of the house yesterday. she and nick charles have hit it off like houses on fire, but nora has turned into the hissy bitchy evil stepsister and would rather just set her on fire. really hoping she warms up to her soon; barring that, maybe phryne’s impending snip-snip surgery in a couple months will smooth the waters between them.
