head tilts back, sea - green eyes finding his gaze & leaves a brush of a kiss to the tip of his chin. " you have nothing to worry about, i know i'm safe with you. "  the arm around his shoulders slides so her palm can cup the side of his neck & thumb can rub against the scruff of his jaw. " mi amore . . . your father does not intimidate me, his ' friends ' do not scare me, his little threats do not concern me. " then she kisses him tenderly, appropriate for the setting but not lacking in passion. " the only thing that scares me is losing you, your life is too important to me. " another kiss, teeth nipping lightly at his bottom lip. " we protect each other, Carter. we'll get through whatever happens, together. "

I didn't realise you had moved blogs so my bad. Courtney is defintely a favourite of your OC's Id love to learn more about her. Her personality and more of her biography and story. Your writing is just spectacular.

omg anon, i'm so sorry it took me this long to get back at you but only now i got my laptop back. but this!!! is so sweet, thank you!!!

i haven't had time to move her biography to this blog or update it as it's been years since i first created courtney. she started as an affiliated oc with @kingokali but i've grown so attached to her over the years.

you can read her bio here but her story is heavy on tw such as drugs (both abuse and dealing) and domestic violence. she's the youngest of three but only really gets along with her eldest brother, anthony isn't really around. their father is part of the chicago mafia and that sets up her whole trajetory.

she used to a bubbly girl, always with a smile on her lips and so so eager to learn and go to school. as she grew up, her personality shifted to a more dark side as she lost her hope on the world and was faced with her own reality. many times she tried to confront her father but she never won any of those battles. she learnt to stick to herself, to stop daydreaming about a future that was taken from her. she also started to resent her mother for leaving and not fighting for her more. she eventually dabbles into drugs because of her brother but hiding it from him for as long as she could.

she goes to college in chicago, not being able to move away, but is able to study what she wants - journalism. however it's not easy and she isn't able to keep up with her studies as she was in high school. she takes some time off, almost dropping out for good, but eventually is able to graduate with her journalism major.

unfortunately i haven't developed her further than that in recent years but i want to!! so if anyone has characters based in chicago or crime/mafia based, lmk!!

          she’s   been   able   to   distract   herself   for   the   past   few   months,    throwing   herself   into   her   work    &    the   restaurant   so    thoughts   of   Carter   don’t   overwhelm   her   until   she’s   trying   to   sleep.    heart   aches   painfully   in   her   chest   but   Ravenna   pushes   through   it,    if   anything   for   Silas    &    Jace’s   sake,    hoping   one   day   soon   it’ll   get   easier.    as   her   eyes   scan   through   the   paperwork   on   her   desk,    attempting   to   finalize    a    few   of   the   contracts,    her    phone   rings   once   before   the   hostess’   voice   comes   through   the   speaker.    ❝   miss   Astrape ?    there’s   someone   here   to   see   you.  ❞    checking    the   clock,    brows   furrow        she   didn’t   have   any   meetings   planned   for   today.    ❝  you   can   send   them   to   my   office.  ❞

          organizing   the   papers   into   a   pile,    Ravenna   looks   up   when   the   door   opens    &    her   heart   stops,    smile   fading   slowly   as   Carter   walks   into   the   room.    ❝  been   a   while.  ❞    clearing   her   throat,    heels   clack   against   the   hardwood   floor   as   she   rounds   her   desk   to   perch   herself   on   the   edge.    she   has   to   fight   the   urge   to   run   to   him,    arms   crossing   under   her   breast    &    nails   dig   into   her   sides.    ❝  business   going   well ?  ❞    she   doesn’t   know   how   to   navigate   these   waters   with   him,    the   small - talk    &    acting   as   if    they’re   strangers,   like   her   heart   doesn’t   completely   belong   to   him.

Oh yeah no. My dad was a fan of the show and everytime it came on I would like hide. That shit is still creepy. The worst part is I would probably like the show if I could get through the opening. It’s the imagery and that damn song.

          she’s   smart  ;  she   knows   Carter   isn’t   interested   in   the   woman   practically   throwing   herself   at   him,    only   in   sealing   the   deal   with   the   wine   supplier   for   his   restaurant.    even   though   she   knows   this,    it   doesn’t   quell   the   way   jealousy   slowly   moves   through   her        the   poor   olive   in   her   martini   has   been   stabbed   more   than   once   as   she   sits   at   the   bar    &    watches   the   two.    

          the   tightness   in   her   chest   loosens   the   second    he   stands   from   the   table,    clenching   her   jaw   as   the   woman   holds   his   hand   longer   than   the   handshake   calls   for    &    bats   her   lashes   up   at   him.    Ravenna    has   to   turn   away,    deciding   to   down   the   rest   of   her   drink   instead   of   clawing   the   woman’s   eyes   out.    when   his   palm   finds   the   small   of   her   back   she   feels   like   she   can   breathe   again   but   the   envy   still   sours   her   mood.    ❝  looks   like   it   went   well  .  .  .  ❞

          eyes   flutter   shut   as   he   let’s   his   lips   brush   the   shell   of   her   ear    &    already   she’s   forgetting   about   the   other   woman,    the   power   he   has   over   her   would   normally   scare   her   but   she   knows   the   feelings   are   mutual.    Ravenna    leans   into   his   touch,    body   twisting   to   find   his   gaze    &    fingers   dance   up   the   length   of   his   torso   until   she’s   able   to   hook   one   at   the   opening   of   his   shirt    &    she   catches   sight   of   the   woman   still   standing   at   the   table,    watching   the   couple.    with   a   sharp   tug,    she   pulls   his   face   down   to   her   level    &    noses   bump   playfully   as   she   finally   has   a   smile   pull   on   red   stained   lips.    ❝  would   you   like   it   better   if   i   took   my   anger   out   on   you ?  ❞    then   without   waiting   for   his   response   Ravenna   kisses   him   greedily,    taking   all   that   he   offers    &    returning   it   tenfold.    they’re   breathless   when   they   part,    chests   flush   together    &    there’s   a   devilish   glint   his   sea - green   hues.    ❝  because   i   don’t   think   we’ve   christened   your   office   yet.  ❞
