#personally im thinking a robe a la francaise but velvet is a fairly anachronistic choice of fabric here #really though im pretty sure it’d be anachronistic for a gown from the seventeenth through twentieth centuries #but whatever we ball #. #kind of not canon compliant either since this style woudlnt have a corset and most of the structure would be in the gown itself but #i think rococo hits the right beats of extravagance and style while not looking stupid #because the reality is a lot of actual historical gowns are in fact lowkey ugly #referencing my book of dresses for this #but actually i think if ANYTHING it might even be something pre-eighteenth century. medieval even #because idk why but i imagine it with an a-line skirt
