Going months without my dad around, my mom and I having the household to ourselves. Waiting by the phone because we never knew when he’d call, and when he did, making sure we kept our stories brief because we’d need to fit 2 stories into the conversation in less than a minute. Many Christmases without my dad were not THE happiest or best times, but him being overseas kept me focused on working hard. It taught me to have great strength, confidence, discipline, and determination– and it continues to teach me, and he continues to inspire me. I’m proud to be a military brat.

(Stolen from a friend’s phone thanks @tabiyusnah) July 4th was SO fun! We did all the things we haven’t been able to do in so long. Threw a few back with friends, played Uno until we almost didn’t have those friends anymore😂 (I won, but no big deal) someone did the Dirty Dancing move, front flips, trampoline, people were on the roof, there were hugs everywhere! And a CRAZY firework show! Finale every 5 seconds!
Thank you to everyone who gives and sacrifices to our country to allow us to do these things.
