河内長野市住宅地視察

2023/11/08　河内長野市住宅地視察。河内長野市の住宅団地の更新状況を学生と視察。学生がまとめてくれた統計によると河内長野市の日東町の年少人口割合が増加しているとのこと。70年に開発が始まった住宅団地で実際に何がおきているのか…、予定の調整ができたので足を運んでみました。 まちを歩いてみると、ちらほらと建て替えられた家が目にとまります。また、二世帯と思われる表札が2つある家も心なしか多い気がします。学校が近くにあるため、子育て世代が入ってきているのでは…と話しながら歩いていました。 公園で子どもを遊ばせていたお母さんに思い切って話しかけてみたところ、祖父の家を建て替えて暮らしているそうです。市内で育ったそうですが、相続を機に住んでいるとのこと。周りの同世代も、もともと市内に縁のある方が多く住んでいるそうです。 住宅地の更新のひとつのあり方を教えていただいたように思います。

その後、清見台、青葉台、南花台、緑ヶ丘等を回って帰りました。

CPU Cultural Affairs Office promises to bring out their best Cultural Show in December.

The CPU Cultural Affairs Office (CAO) promised to bring out their best in December as they confirm their cultural online show during the Festival of Lights and Music season.

The cultural show is a separate full-length online presentation on December 17 to be shown worldwide live via CPU TV Channel Facebook Page. The cultural show talents under the CAO will include the CPU Dance Company, Hand Bell Ringers, Excel Chorale, CPU Symphonic Band, and the Elementary and High School Dance Troupes. On the following day, December 18, the CPU Dance Company will perform live at the Festive Walk in Mandurriao, Iloilo City.

The CPU Dance Company also performed in the Japan Cultural Exchange Program of Osaka, Japan. The group represented the Philippines in the Kawachinagano International Friendship Association (KIFA) Japan Cultural Presentation on November 18, 2021. It was participated by different countries like Great Britain, India, Japan, Nepal, Finland, and the Philippines.

The excellence of its presentation under the artistic direction of Professor Randy Lero, and with the support of Cultural Affairs Director, Crista Sianson Huyong, will once again prove their highly regarded previous performances, such as the Saludo 1 presentation last December 2019.

Some of the members of these talented groups under the Cultural Affairs Office are provided with scholarship grants.

More cultural events are coming up early next year, according to Prof. Huyong.

河内長野市・金剛寺視察

2023/07/26　河内長野市・金剛寺視察。いつもお世話になっている、河内長野市文化財保護課のお二人にご案内いただき、金剛寺のあるべき景観を主題に、現地をご案内いただきました。 歴史の蓄積をどう捉えて共有するか、議論しながら新しい知見が広がることを楽しみにしています。

▲明治期に書かれた絵図とほぼ同じ構図で現状を確認することができます。

▲金剛寺を象徴する交差点。 かつては「都市」としての往来があった様子が偲ばれます。 「金剛寺の子院群」として日本遺産の構成遺産になっています。

▲金剛寺の境内。 「金剛寺の境内」 「金剛寺の建造物群」として日本遺産の構成遺産になっています。

▲講堂。近代和風の建築です。

▲天野山会館。構成遺産には含まれていないそうですが、歴史の蓄積の一つとしても捉えられるように思いました。

CPU Dance Company receives ICONIC Award from World Education ICON.

Central Philippine University Dance Company (Tumandok sang Iloilo) received the Extra-Curricular Iconic Award for its Iconic Contribution in the Field of Education from the World Education Icon Awards on October 10, 2021. An E-Certificate was received and a trophy will arrive this week.

According to Professor Randy A. Lero, Adviser and Artistic Director, the Dance Group which started in 2018 had its first Cultural Exchange program in 2019. Lero said, “The exchange program was realized with the help of Kawachinagano International Friendship Association in Kawachinagano City, Osaka Japan.” He added that it is a yearly program that was stopped because of pandemic. Hopefully, it will normalize again next year.”

On November 18, 2021, CPUDC will represent the Philippines in a Dance Festival organized by the Media Center of Kawachinagano City, Japan together with some dance companies from India, Taiwan, Australia, Argentina, and other countries – through a virtual presentation.

The Group has performed many times before at the CPU Rose Memorial Auditorium. It has also performed in South Korea and in a U.S. Tour sponsored by the CPU Alumni Association and Philippine Airlines. The CPU Dance Company (Tumandok sang Iloilo) is under the CPU Cultural Affairs Office headed by Prof. Crista Huyong.
