So here’s my top 9 pictures for the year. Also I made my own top 9 with my official cosplay debut! ( well the most I did for a cosplay,  I don’t count wearing random masks late last decade lol)

So yea 8 cosplay pictures and an awesome Kill la Kill car. I took all of the pictures, obviously expect the last one which I’m in, which was taken by a random con goer Also Spider Ruby Rose is hands down my most popular post ever now. Top 5 Convention Fails

Some cons don’t always go as planned but there are those fails that reach legendary status. Today I’ll be taking a look at some of the most poorly run convention moments through the years. Trigger warning, some of these are sensitive.

5. Alone in the Desert(AX 2017)

Anime Expo is a large convention, scratch That, it’s America’s largest anime convention and second largest convention overall. Definitely better known for good times and tons of cosplay photo ops, there was one moment that isn’t so proud in the con’s history. In 2017, if you didn’t have your badge mailed directly to you or picked it up early, you had to wait for at least 4 hours in the hot LA sun before even getting close to entering. Many fans just gave up and left or waited until less crowded days to attend. No one wants to stand outside in a heavy costume in the hot LA desert for 4 hours.

4. Calling the Cops(Pensecon 2019)

When actress Monica Rial reported death threats for speaking up about controversial actor Vic Mignogna, Pensacola’s native convention show runners took to twitter to make it clear that the threats would not be a reality when she visited in February. While it’s admirable that the con took the time to stick up for a guest as threats should always be taken seriously, some of their comments went into the creepy 1984 category. The con promptly deleted their Twitter a day after the comments were posted but thankfully, the event was safe and successful, just not the best moment on social media.

3. Goku vs Goku(KamehaCon 2018)

Sean Schemmel is known for his sass and dry sarcasm but he’s also known to be incredibly protective of his roll as Goku. When Canadian actor Peter Kelamis dropped out, he said it was due to a fellow VA and at the end of his post, said “I did say Kao Ken correctly”. Many assumed the culprit was Schemmel who was also attending. Eventually, Kelamis did end up coming and the two are now close friends. No one will ever know who it was but to this day, many think this was an enemies turned friends story between two rivals.

2. Vic Kicks Back(KamehaCon 2019)

Well the first DBZ con makes it on here a second time. When it comes to convention fails, this is the stuff of legend. Weather you are supporting Vic or not, one cannot deny the rift that has been caused between KamehaCon attendees. In August, Mignogna was slated to appear at the titular con but was removed in February due to sexual harassment allegations. Recently, the sponser Of his gofundme for his legal case, Nick Rekieta, posted a video on his YouTube channel claiming that he had eyes on the inside of the con who claimed the owner was planning on bringing him back but actors Christopher Sabat and Monica Rial pressured him into severing Vic’s contract completely. The next day, KamehaCon announced Mignogna’s return and at least a dozen panelists, several VAs(including Rial), and hordes of patrons cancelled their attendance at the con. The con recently stated that no actors interfered with any contracts, debunking the conspiracy theory, but there are plenty of theories floating around out there. Did Rial and Sabat try to mess with a contract? Were Nick Rekieta and Ty Beard bullying con staff into bringing Vic back with Rekieta committing defamation against Rial and Sabat? Was the owner on board right away with the idea of Vic’s return? No one knows and no one probably will know what actually happed. The convention has yet to start but whatever happens, there will be fireworks.

1. Nuclear Bomb(DashCon 2014)

We finally get to the McDLT of con fails. This is the stuff of absolute legend. Dash Con was meant to be a con for tumblr users but tickets costed as much as 45 dollars...to have plenty of cancelled panels, poorly regulated finance, hardly anything to do other than a bouncy house and a ball pit(I’m not joking). Only 500 people showed up to this disaster and it totally backfired. To compensate for the problems, guests were offered an extra hour in the deflated ball pit...yeah that happened. Now an internet meme and a prime example of what an absolute failed con is, the event never returned for a second year and will go down in history as the greatest con fail of all time.

aw man I love Kirby. such a cool dude, met him in 2016. not so sure about vic, but ok lol

Vic was super sweet and he was so appreciative of everyone there. He kept stopping with autographs and just kept shouting how much his fans mean to him and how grateful he was we were all there. It made my day meeting him!

And Kirby was a treat too! I didn’t have enough money for an autograph and picture but he let me get a picture with him for free!

Kamehacon was great! I got to see awesome art! Meet great actors! Hang out all day with my bff @coolman229! And the biggest surprise was meeting @kairi-yajuu!!!

I didn’t know she was gonna be there! But she asked a question at a panel and my head just popped up and I told my friend Tim, “Wait a minute! I know that voice! That’s Kairi!!!!”

And people there were just so nice, chatting with random strangers in lines, all of us just excited to be there!

The only downside…I lost my autograph to Vic ☹️

I went to lost and found and no one turned it it yet. I gave them my name and phone number and the personalized message I asked Vic to write…hopefully it gets found and turned in soon.

But other than that it was a blast and I was glad I went!
