| OO18. BALCONY MEMORIES

tuesday 12:40pm — jungwon’s house

“JUNGWON STOP CHEATING.” yn screamed, continuously pressing the x on the controller.

“IM NOT EVEN CHEATING. YOU JUST SUCK.” the boy laughed so hard his stomach started hurting.

the two have been playing games for a good 2 hours since they couldn’t go out and do whatever they wanted to. the sounds of laughing, tapping due to the controller, and smacking noises from yn kicking the boy filled throughout the room.

they were really starting to get along, the sight of a new bond opened for these two without them even realizing it.

yn threw jungwon’s controller on his bed out of frustration. she hated losing and thats all shes been doing since she started playing against him.

jungwon placed his hand on the girls thigh and lightly tapped it. “stop being so upset.”

yn scrunched her nose, “shut up.”

“its not my fault you suck.” jungwon said, earning another kick from yn. the boy bursted out laughing once again as he fell over. he really enjoyed being around yn, these interactions really confirmed his feelings for her.

the door cracked open revealing jungwon’s mother. she had a plate of beautifully cut fruit for the two.

“you guys seem to having fun.” mrs yang said, placing the plate down on the table the two were sitting at.

“yes! your son is being so annoying though.” yn said, grabbing a fork and sticking it into the fruit to be plopped into her mouth.

mrs yang chuckled, ruffling jungwon’s hair. “thats just how he is when he likes someone.” and with that, she walked out leaving the two alone once again.

yn froze, glancing at jungwon who had also stopped moving due to his mothers words.

“you like me?” the girl questioned, as she ate another fruit.

jungwon was completely taken aback. was he going to tell her now? he already told himself he was going to wait to see if sunghoon liked her. but like, his mother already sold him out…

the boy just nodded. leading back against his bed, trying to look as unbothered as he possibly could.

yn found this cute, him being flustered because of her question was amusing.

the girl placed down her fork and crossed her arms. she just stared at him. he gulped, not knowing what she was thinking.

“i like you too. but ask me out when were both back on a balcony.” the girl smiled at the boy, throwing her leg over him as she wrapped her hands around him— catching the boy off guard.

the boy hummed in response.

“you remember how pretty the balcony was, right?” yn said, she was now sitting on top of him staring deeply into his eyes.

“of course i do, i also remember making out with you.” jungwon smirked, wrapping his arms around the girls waist.

yn hit jungwon’s chest playfully. jungwon just smiled, he was relieved that there feelings were mutual.

now he just had to find a way to ask her out.

| OO21. ONE OF A KIND GIRLFRIEND

the soft cool breeze hit jungwon’s face, bringing with it a sense of calmness. the feeling of nervousness was tingling in the bottom his of stomach.

he was finally going to ask yn to be his girlfriend, with the help of riki of course. in the corner of his eye, he could see riki and jay hiding behind a table while holding up their phones, recording him.

jungwon smiled as his friends giggled from behind their screens, giving him a quick thimbs up.

he took a deep breath and readied himself before finally noticing that yn was standing right by the door. she looked beautiful, her long black hair cascading down her back and the sun highlighting her fair skin.

jungwon nervously fumbled with the lilac flowers before finally offering a shy smile. yn returned his smile, and walked towards the boy.

she observed the area, it was beautifully decorated with pictures of them from their small hangouts whilst in the talking stage. it was obvious that riki did this but with the touch of jungwon’s heart.

jungwon handed yn the purple flowers , which symbolize his love for her. he knew she loved the color purple.

“you look so pretty.” jungwon spoke, his voice carrying a hint of admiration. yn blushed and took the flowers gently, giving jungwon another smile.

“you don’t look too bad yourself.” she teased, leaning in to give him a small hug. he returned it, happy that he can finally hold her knowing that he finally found someone he truly enjoyed being around. yang jungwon’s playboy ways were over.

his heart was too deeply taken by yn and it was the sweetest thing.

the boy cleared his throat, glancing between his hopefully soon to be girlfriend and his two friends.

“i wanted to ask you something.” jungwon said, nervously fiddling with the hem of the girls uniform.

the girl hummed in response. she stared at his face, still in his embrace. the memories of the night where they first met kept replaying in her head.

being this close to him gave her deja vu all over again. his dark brown hair perfectly resting above his catlike eyes, his dark brows furrowed due to him being nervous, his small single dimple creasing every time he sucked in his mouth whenever he spoke to her. everything about him made yn want to melt into his arms.

jungwon felt no different, her presence changed him, he wasnt the same person he was in the beginning of the year and it made him happy.

“would you like to be my beautiful, terrifically, amazing, one of a kind girlfriend?” the boy finished, his heart racing as the moments past, awaiting for the answer that he hope for.

yn smiled sweetly, her eyes sparkled with joy and glee, if she hadn't been blushing before, she definitely was now.

“of course i would love to be your beautiful, terrifically, amazing, one of a kind girlfriend.”

the boy licked his lips before gently cupping her face in his hands, bringing her face closer to his, he kissed her with the passion and warmth never felt before.

monday 8:30am — class 1-4

jungwon scrolled through his timeline after posting that petty tweet, if he were being honest, he was jealous. he didn’t understand why he was. yn was a weird girl, like weirder than riki and meeting her was a complete accident.

if riki didn’t need help at jaemins party, he wouldn’t have kissed her and things probably would’ve been fine. but ever since she came, things have been rough and just so difficult for him.

the thought of how sunghoon wanted her at one point and how they’re getting closer, just angered him. the thoughts kept going through his mind: why her, why the new girl who’s weird and very, very.. extremely.. attractive and exactly his type.

jungwon clicked on yn’s instagram page, unintentionally ‘stalking her’ in class. not realizing that she was right behind him.

“jungwon?” the girl said, staring at the image of herself on the boys phone.

jungwon quickly shut off his device and turned to the voice, giving the girl a nervous smile.

“oh hey deskmate..” jungwon spoke with a weird tone. jungwon shifted his eyes to her bun then back her face, hoping she wouldn’t make things awkward since she just caught him staring at an image of her.

yn smiled at the boy, the idea of embarrassing jungwon on her first day back didn’t seem too bad but the other idea of making minjeong jealous since she was in their classroom talking to yoo jimin seemed even better.

“you missed me THAT much, you had to stalk me.” yn said teasingly, sitting down at her desk, next to jungwon.

jungwon gulped, he expected yn to say something since thats just how she was but he didn’t expect her to be as loud as she was when she said it.

yn glanced at the two girls, they were staring directly at them. minjeong didn’t seem too pleased and yn just smirked at the her.

| OO16. PEDDLE ME HOME

tuesday 8:20am — classroom 1-4

sato yn was 20 minutes early to class today. she had been coming to school late everyday before she got suspended so the school had to force her to arrive to school earlier than the rest of the students.

the girl had her head down, airpods stuffed in her ear as she listened to in the air by destin conrad.

being alone in class made yn think, she had no other choice but to replay memories. she never really had time to think to herself about her life, she was always the type to make memories and think about consequences later.

although she assumed riki was joking about jungwon liking her, she really wished it were true; all this arguing with minjeong wasn’t for no reason, she wanted to defend her name, but she also just wished jungwon had just met her normally and maybe they could’ve formed a proper relationship with each other.

if the girl was being honest with herself, she didn’t like how she was right now. her mom moved her to seoul to have a fresh start and better herself with the help of her cousin changmin. obviously she hasn’t changed but she does have more sympathy than before, her old self would’ve just not cared about how this would affect the people around her.

yn sucked in a breath, closing her eyes while the music just played in her ears. it was gloomy out, she wasn’t in the mood to interact, especially not after all the things that has gone down, she really felt like shit. being known as a ‘rebel party girl who jungwon cheated with’ was starting to get to her.

jungwon stepped inside the quiet classroom; he was always early, always alone, always just there to avoid all the stares he’s been getting recently. the boy was almost fully soaked from biking to school. his bangs stuck to his forehead, lips all red from sucking on them out of habit. it really wasn’t a good morning for him.

jungwon notices yn from afar, her head was down, airpods in, and asleep as she usually was. her hair fell perfectly around her face, she was gorgeous in jungwon’s eyes, she really had an affect on him without even doing much to grab his attention.

the constant reminders that jungwon might have feelings for her made the boy think every single night since the day she walked into their homeroom and introduced herself as ‘sato yn’ with a bright smile. and at this point, jungwon just accepted it, he had feelings for yn and he was going to confess.

not now though. not without knowing if sunghoon likes her or not.

jungwon walked over to his desk, sitting down right next to yn like he usually does. the boy didn’t want to wake yn up, she was peacefully asleep. instead, jungwon layed his head on his arms facing the girl— observing her features for the 100fh time.

time passed by and no one seemed to be walking into the classroom. jungwon tapped on his phone to check the time, ‘9:14am.’

thats weird, class started at 9:00 why isn’t anyone here..

confused, jungwon sat up and checked his emails just to find one that says, ‘school cancelled due to rainstorm.’ great.

jungwon was stuck, he didn’t want to wake up yn and tell her that there was no school and that she has to leave even though she came in early for the first time in a month.

jungwon sat there, not saying much, caught up in his own head. not realizing that the girl opened her eyes and was now staring at him with a puzzled expression.

“where’s everyone?” the girl asked silently, she yawned as she sat up, stretching her whole body.

jungwon turned his head to the voice. he was not expecting yn to wake up suddenly and to be staring at him with a cute confused expression?

jungwon was about to burst into a million pieces.

the boy opened his mouth to speak but no words came out. yn eyebrows furrowed, she was expecting him to be arrogant and speak without hesitation like he usually does, but he looked flustered, almost nervous.

“hello, earth to jungwon.” yn waved her hands in front of the boys face.

“oh, school was cancelled.”

“what.”

“i didn’t know either, i just checked my email.”

the girl tapped her phone just to see a bunch of notifications from her friends telling her school was cancelled.

“i don’t even know how im going to get home.” yn said, shutting off her phone.

jungwon thought for a moment, “i mean i have my bike. i could peddle you home.”

jungwon smirked before nudging the girl with his elbow. and hes back, the normal jungwon she knew.

the girl scoffed at him before snickering at his little joke.

“okay sure. peddle me home yang jungwon.”

| OO20. THE CHANGE 4 THEM

thursday 8:30am — Seoul High

the news about yn and jungwon being together has gotten around the school, they were both a bit taken aback by the sudden news about them a couple, but it felt awkward. things were never made official and riki “exposing” them made things even more weird.

they were both uncomfortable, but yn did approach jungwon and asked him to walk with her to rooftop. she was more upset than she thought she would’ve been. riki always airing out their business really set her off.

at first, the posts were funny and harmless , but when it came to her and jungwon, yn felt differently. she was embarrassed and unsure of how to process the posts. she really hated the fact that everyone knew what was going on between her and her potential future boyfriend.

“jungwon why would you let riki post that?” the girl stared at the boy, he nibbled on his bottom lip, feeling unsure about what to say.

“I’m sorry. It wasn’t my intention to make any of this happen. he just doesn’t understand boundaries..” he replied, being completely honest with the girl.

“What did you expect would happen?” yn inquired, crossing her arms and leaning against the fence as the wind blew through her silky hair.

jungwon stayed silent, knowing that yn had gotten him there. he didn’t know what he expected and right now he just felt bad. he really did like yn and he knew she liked him back but riki doing this was just too much.

“rIki just wanted us to settle things once and for all, he thought this would help.” the boy glanced at the girl, he had been watching her facial expressions. it hasn’t changed since they started this conversation. she had a downturned face. oh, it was still gorgeous of course, but she was just so obviously upset.

“I know he thinks hes helping us get together but what he did was not his place. i want you to do the talking not him.” yn said, her voice wavering slightly as she spoke.

“i fucking like you and i hate how everyone knows everything about us when i just want to spend time with you without the stares and whispers!” yn continued, her voice was stronger now, her eyes flashing in determination.

“I don’t want anyone else deciding or interfering with our relationship. everyone has had an opinion on us since i moved here because of that stupid rumor that your ex made and honestly, im sick of it. i just want us to be true to each other and for people to stop, and i know you cant do anything about it but please. just tell riki to stop.”

the two never realized how much they were changing for the better, how much support they were giving each other until now. And it was all due to the things went through together.

jungwon listened to every word she said and took it all in, knowing exactly what she meant and how hard it was for her. he reached forward and took both her hands in his before speaking.

“im sorry yn, i had no idea how much this was effecting you. i like you so much its killing me how much i never realized this was hurting you. i cant make any promises like, getting people to stop talking, but i can tell you that i'll do what i can to make sure riki stops posting.” jungwon gave a gentle squeeze to her hands, trying to reassure her as best he could that he would take care of it.

and so he did. after kissing yn on the cheek and walking her to class, he spoke to riki and did his best to make him understand how important it was for yn to get the respect she deserved.

riki agreed and promised to stop posting anything about them. it was him who started this whole relationship though, so jungwon wasn’t completely mad at him.

if riki never asked him to distract yn at that party, they probably would’ve never had this type of connection. so even though jungwon had kissed yn and pretended not to know her, it all worked out in the end.

riki still felt bad so he agreed to help jungwon surprise yn so he could ask her to officially be his girlfriend. and when the time came, he really put in the effort, making something work for them.

| OO17. UMBRELLA HOGGER

tuesday 9:30am — outside of seoul hs

sato yn and yang jungwon stood outside under the girls umbrella, standing close as their arms brushed against each other. yn felt relieved that she brought an umbrella today, maybe this was her sprinkle of luck for today.

“where’s your bike?” the girl looked around, as she poked her head out, getting a better look of the area.

jungwon pointed at the black bike, it was a pretty bike.

the girl shifted her gaze to jungwon’s shoulders, yn stepped closer to jungwon after noticing that his shoulder was getting wet due to the umbrella not covering him completely.

“you’re fine with sitting on the edge of the bike right?” jungwon looked over to the girl, she was much shorter than him but being so close really emphasized the difference between the two.

yn nodded, the corners of her lips perked up as she held onto the umbrella tightly. she waited patiently for him to start walking since she didn’t want to fall behind him.

but jungwon wanted to be bold, and so he was. he grabbed her hand, locking them together and started running to the bike.

| OO9. JUNGWON STOP RUNNING

12:50pm — school hallway

the sounds of running echoed across the hallway, muffled sounds of teachers teaching lessons ringing through their ears, the breeze flowing through sato and yangs hair with hands attached and mouths shut.

“jungwon stop running, we’re not going to get in trouble for being late!” yn said, “and let go of my hand.” the girl stopped running, forcing the boy to stop as well, she let go of his hand, slowly catching her breath.

jungwon leaned down placing his hands on his knees also trying to catch his breath. the male student has never been late for class, he couldn’t. not while being class president— thats why when it came to studies, jungwon was always on top.

the reason behind why people thought hes so different in and out of school was because he was such a nerd in school and such a party-boy out.

“im sorry, we’re so late. i couldn’t help but run.” jungwon panicked, not realizing he was only two steps away from the class.

“well, we’re right here anyway.” yn pointed at the classroom number sign, giving jungwon a bright smile she was known for.

jungwon turned around, gazing at the sign. he cleared his throat and straightened his back. the two mentally prepared for all the stares and all the questions they were about to receive once they step into their homeroom.

jungwon and yn both walked towards the door, the boy knocked softly. mrs jang stopped talking, turning her head to the door. she pasted over and slid open the door revealing the class president and the new trouble maker.

the rest of the class leaned over their desks, noticing that yn and jungwon were both late to class.

| OO4. THIS IS SATO YN

monday 8:30am — outside class 1-4

sato yn annualized the outside of her classroom, slowly zoning out while fidgeting her fingers. mrs jang had just told her to stand outside since she needed to inform everyone that there was going to be a new student.

the door slid open, revealing a smiley teacher. yn smiled back at her and walked into the classroom after being signaled by mrs jang.

yang jungwon sat near the front of the class, he was classroom president after all. but he was on his phone distracted, not noticing the girl in front of him.

“okay class, this is sato yn. introduce yourself.” said mrs jang, catching the attention of jungwon. the boy put his phone away and looked the girl up and down.

holy shit. the memories from saturday just bursted in the boys head.

“hello, im sato yn, please treat me well!” yn smiled, bowing at her classmates.

“okay yn sit next to the classroom president. jungwon stand up please.” mrs jang said. jungwon didn’t move, he was so caught up in his own head to process what the teacher just said.

“jungwon?”

“oh yes, sorry mrs jang.” jungwon stood up immediately, bowing. yn squinted her eyes, trying to see the boys face clearly. he was insanely good looking.

yn got chills down her back, the girl felt as if she’s seen this boy before.

the girl shrugged it off before making her way to the boys desk. jungwon sat down as soon as yn started walking. he hoped she didn’t recognize him and luckily for him, she didnt.

monday 9:30am — classroom 1-4

the bell rang, it was now free time for the students. jungwon and yn did not speak once since mrs jang started the lesson. it was awkward for jungwon— on the other hand, yn was completely fine, oblivious to the whole situation.

jungwon was about to get up, yn grabbed his arm gently. “wait, aren’t you supposed to show me around?”

jungwon pulled his arm away, scoffing. “you can figure it out on your own.” and with that, he walked away leaving yn stunned.
