in the beginning natsu is basically the howling wet cat that hisses and tries to claw at everyone and uk is the one person who is like “perfect, I shall cuddle her for eternity”

Mu deok and Jang Uk every episode: Can’t stay away from each other, hug each other all the time, first thing they ask others is “where is mu deok/ jang uk”, would literally die for each other, clingy af, fight like a married couple
Every one else: aaaahhh what a typical maid and master relationship how lovely

Jang Uk being jealous and angry because his wife is still in love with some guy after 3 yrs is the epitome of hypocrisy. Like dude, what were you doing till 2 days ago... 😂😭😅🤣

okay but it makes me fucking FERAL how from the very beginning of their relationship Uk isn’t thrown off or even off put by Natsu’s harsh words or way of speaking and the reason for that is because her ACTIONS betray her. like yeah, in the first two episodes she does say repeatedly that she should kill him and escape. but she doesn’t kill him. when she poisons him it’s to further both their goals --him to unlock his gate of energy and her to use that gate of energy in the future- but she isn’t cruel about it. she also knows she is going to be tortured and she fully expected to lose a limb in the service of this goal. she fully accepts what is going to happen to her and when she learns that Uk’s gate of energy has been opened, despite the fact that she has been beaten near to death, her reaction is to smile. she is the ONLY ONE who has been willing to do what Uk has been seeking and desperately trying to do for YEARS. and the fact that it’s this person who has no societal power or even physical power at the time makes me want to claw at my face because it’s two outsiders against the world figuring out how to fight the world and WIN.
ANYWAY, you also have how Natsu treats Uk when he has that torrent of energy in his stomach. Like, she’s excited for him! I don’t think people realize but it takes a long time to train a student. Like Natsu says it takes over ten years to get close to mastering a lot of these techniques and she did not know, when she took Uk on as a pupil, that he would be able to master then quickly or not. She really was in this for the long haul. But during episode four she is the one to take care of Uk. She cools him down when he’s burning up and keeps him warm when he is freezing. And she reminds him to breath.
But the bed sharing scene is one of the most compelling to me because you have both Natsu and Uk being utterly vulnerable with each other. Uk, of course, is close to freezing to death, but Natsu opens up about the place that she grew up and shares memories that she has never before shared with another person. I know people are focused on the bird egg metaphor RIGHTLY, but the second story is about a bear in a cave. So you have this entire evening of Uk and Natsu cuddling, forehead to forehead, while she spins tales after tale for him to keep him awake and alive. AND SHE’S THE DEADLY ASSASSIN. BUT the thing that also got me about that scene was that SHE FELL ASLEEP. Like she registers Uk as being safe enough that she can sleep beside him. Like clearly sometime during the night they both fell asleep next to each other.
Which sidebar, you’re telling me a house full of servants didn’t register that the maid was sleeping in the master’s room? like you’re telling me their wasn’t gossip about them after that night??? come on now.
