hello!

i've already read ur post about whether u think jikook will ever come out or not and i mainly agree with you.

but, i've just found this on twitter https://twitter.com/soompi/status/1456797909001850880?s=21 and i want to know your opinion about it, i mean if the kpop industry is slowly accepting it, could this have an impact on other gay kpop idols coming out, including jikook (well me assuming that they're in a relationship).

I am for the most part not a fan of gossip sites like this. Lol its just not normally a great place to find information. If you click on the link though, the article talks about how they are showcasing their great friendship in this photo and their interactions of supporting each others music.

So is this really acceptance? I know nothing about these 2 idols or anything about their relationship together or their friendship. I can't give my opinion on it really, but if they ARE boyfriends, and one put out an I love you caption on this type of photo and all the articles are talking about is how cute their FRIENDSHIP together is.... is that really acceptance? If one of them was a woman do you think the article would be speculating on their relationship status or if it was a relationship reveal to the fans? Or would it still just talk about aww cute they are friends. Because I have a feeling what would be all over the headlines if that was a het pairing like this rather than 2 men. I mean, the Same idol Leo had a few years ago a massive dating scandal apparently for photos snapped of him opening his arms for a woman and then walking off with her with his hand over her shoulder. Literally that's it, thats all that the photo was. Yet this isn't even considered as a possibility of something that could be more than platonic. It's just assumed friendship because of them both being men.

Not to mention that nothing I can find online shows either one of them are out in anyway or anything about if they are queer. So IS this coming out? Is this the industry being more accepting? Idk, I don't really think so. There ARE other idols who have come out and more open and explicit with how they have come out. Such as Holland refusing to debut with a company because they would have made him hide who he was, so he debuted on his own as an openly gay idol. Or Som Hye In who posted to her personal Instagram a photo of her kissing her girlfriend and saying she is Bisexual. Members of DIP Seungho and B Nish admitted to being in a relationship together and boyfriends since their debut in 2016. Maman openly stated she was gay and was later kicked out of her company for it. And all of these people have faced lots of discrimination for doing this and it's incredibly brave of them. I don't know these groups or individuals or anything about them, this is simply what I can find online.

No, my opinion really hasn't changed. I have this post here as well where I share a video made by 2 women who were or still are in the kpop industry as idols/trainees. They mention in the video about how there are plenty of lgbtq idols and how it's very much so not talked about openly.

As well as this post that I made about homophobia is South Korea and how far they still have to go

Not to mention again that Jimin and JK are in the biggest group in the world right now. Anything and everything they do is basically open for discussion and to be picked apart. They still have a potential military service to get through, they have the attention of the leaders of their country on them. Not everyone HAS to be a symbol for progression, sometimes it's enough to be open about your support for your community while quietly living your life as authentically as you can in a way that makes you feel comfortable and safe. And that is enough and and shouldn't have to do or say anything more. Do I think JM and JK are currently hiding that they are in a relationship? No, I think they are being quite clear and explicit about it lately. But they are also still letting things sit in a bit of ambiguity in the way they haven't and probably won't actually confirm anything. Just live they way they will and let those who see it, know, and those who refuse to see it, let them sit in their ignorance. And I stand by what my opinions were in that first post, if they ever do explicitly confirm anything, I don't think it will be until a long ass time after the group disbands, and even then, who knows. I think especially after the moments we have been getting lately and what they've been saying to us, it's very much an "either you get it by now, or you don't." And they will just continue living the way they want to and chilling in their transparent closet. Lol

At this point in their career rather than memorable performances what they are trending for are ships and bts keeps focusing and playing into that and i'm tired. (not even providing proper synchronization in the little instances that they do performances) Bts arent the only group that has members who get along, army obviously wont know that since they live in a bts bubble but i assure you there are groups with tighter bonds than them who dont need to show their bond by constantly 'amping it up' in the forms of fanservice lmao. Everything left a bad taste in my mouth as well for how performative all these recent fs have been. Sure they get along but these actions all looked 'a certain way' to provide narrative and i only see this as baiting at the moment and i'm not okay with that.

I understand the feeling, yeah. It doesn't make it better that army in itself is gigantic, and on top of that majority of the fandom is international and they are mostly, if not entirely focused on ships, especially taekook. Taekook were trending with 700k a while ago, and it's been half a day since the concert. Seven hundred thousand tweets about a ship.

Jikook is in no way near close to that, I don't think it's even worth mentioning it.

Needless to say, those fans aren't here exactly for the music or the performances. So everytime interactions like this happen, it gets so blown out of proportion and like you said, there are other groups with even sweeter relationships and interactions but naturally, they don't have near the fandom BTS have so we don't know about them. The fact that BTS plays into it so much, it's because they see the reactions from the fandom and it shouldn't be a surprise that they know and that they add fuel to the fire, so to speak.

Here come the "insecure jikooker" voices in my head but, even if I know all of this doesn't make or break Jimin and JK's relationship, and they could still be a couple even if they sit on other people's laps, it's just becoming even more impossibly harder to see them as a couple. They could still very much be one, but things get so tangled up... And of course this is not only about taekook because I don't have tunnel vision, it's just everything/everyone.

OOP HI!! ik this took a hot second (i took summer classes to lessen my load next sem and uh,,, i lowkey regret it lmao) but oh my god. when i tell you that i was grinning like an idiot the entire time i was reading the mlt update😭😭 it was so beautiful and sweet and wholesome??

ok breaking this down into sections bc i am a Mess lol:

1. joon n chun-ja are so cute!! and that bit where han-jae runs up to joon??? consider me dead. eviscerated. fucken stabbed. n the way that mc is so happy for them but at the same time lowkey jealous bc god damn it, she wants that with yoongi too😭(pls let my girl be happy ong im going to sob)

2. FINALLY OH MY GOD,,,, I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE, TURN IT UP!!! no but i mean it, my soul is soothed knowing that they've finally talked about it😭😭 and the way yoongi says, "She shouldn't have made you bear such a burden" ??? yeah im gonna sob😭😭 bc some part of oc must have felt a bit... bitter? that she had to carry that burden :<< like yeah, the fact that the queen trusted her with that information must have been flattering (idk if thats the right word to use lol but u know what i mean), but she was so young😭 to hear yoongi say that must have been so... liberating, in a sense? idk i love her huhuhu

3. yoongi's been skipping breakfast to see the mc??? he rlly said loml first, sustenance later🤪 no but this scene was just so soft and sweet?? and when he says that he's gonna turn down another marriage candidate as swiftly as he did last time, girl i'll have you know that i CHOKED😭😭the casual banter between them?? the way he holds her hand???? ma'am i can't😭 i can't do this oh my god even now while i'm rereading it as i write this comment, i am FLUSTERED (also when my friend read this part, she rlly stopped reading for a sec to send me a screenshot of this part so she could yell at me😭😭)

4. i won't lie i did not expect to see some jikook action in this drabble😭(i'm def not complaining tho lol) the way jimin bought all of the jeon??? i'm laughing okay😭 that was so cute n wholesome n the way mc said that she was gonna go help out jungkook's family out😭 (are jin, jk, n the mc friends now?) also i'll have you know that after reading this part i got so curious abt what jeon tasted like😭 i'll have to try some when i get the chance lol

5. HOBI!!! HOBI!!!!!! HOBI!!!!!!!!!! I WAS SO SURPRISED TO SEE THAT HE MADE AN APPEARANCE HERE OH MY GOD!!! pls the way he's so soft for his baby :<< n he's gonna drop by w aera to see the mc?? pls i wANNA HANG OUT W THEM TOO😭😭 (also miss rain, if this part is what i think it is... i see u👀 jk im probably reading into it too much🤣 the lessons in my creative writing class has been ingrained to my soul at this point lmao)
