Day Seventeen: our last day, bittersweet! Hiked to the Fairy Pools in the Isle of Skye, famous for their turquoise water - great way to start the day! Stopped at Eilean Donan Castle, and Loch Tulle on the way to Glasgow. Ran into some sheep along the way! Said goodbye to our family as we made our way into the city, so happy they were able to join us for this once in a lifetime experience! This honeymoon has been unbelievable, I am so grateful and full of love for everyone who joined us not only for the wedding but the honeymoon as well. I’m not ready to come home, though I may be excited to sleep in my own bed after two and a half weeks. Day Sixteen: today began very solemn as we started the day with a tour of Culloden Battlefield where many men lost there lives in 1746. The visitors centre did a beautiful job explaining the history of this chilling place - highly recommend! We then set off from Inverness on our way to the Isle of Skye. We stopped along the way and tried to spot Nessie, the Loch Ness Monster (spoiler alert: no such luck, despite our best efforts). Probably my favorite stop of the day was the Heilan Coos! We were able to stop at Redburn Cafe and purchase some Coo food and feed these beyond cute creatures, absolute highlight!!! Our scenic drive through the Scottish Highlands proved once again to be breathtaking and didn’t disappoint. Ended our trip at our next stop Portree for the night. Sure hope you aren’t sick of me recapping every day, cause we still have one more to go! Day Fifteen: today I drove a car in Scotland and everyone survived! For those of you who don’t know, they drive of the Lefthand side of the road and the drivers side is on the Righthand side, so this is an occasion worth writing down and remembering! 🤣 while Jared, Jeremy, and Sonny drove one way to get to St. Andrews and play a round of golf, I took Jill and Ayden and explored! We stopped at many of the filming locations for the show Outlander (nerd alert). First stop, Lallybroch (Midhope Castle). Next, Wentworth Prison (Linlithgow Palace — which is also the birthplace of Queen Mary of Scots). Thirdly, we stopped at Stirling Castle, where Mary spent most of her time. Lastly, Castle Leoch (Doune Castle). We packed up after a busy day of castles and made the drive to Inverness through the Scottish countryside, so beautiful! Got diverted because of a huge accident that shut down the major road, which made the drive twice as long as it should’ve been, but in the end we had fun! Day Fourteen: exploring Edinburgh today made me wish we had more time here; talk about a beautiful city! The architecture and history here is felt along every street! We walked the Royal Mile and back basically, pretty sure our companions dislike us strongly for the amount I made them walk today 🤣 it was worth it though! Started at Edinburgh Castle, all the way down to Holyrood Palace, back out to the Princes Garden to see Ross Fountain. I can already see us coming back here very soon! Day Twelve: big city bus tour day! What better way to see all the sites than a hop on hop off bus. London Bridge, Tower of London, Tower Bridge, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Piccadilly Circus, the Royal Exchange, and so many more! Highly recommend doing these in all the big cities where there’s just so much to see! We ended the night with polish food, and said goodbye to @ashbraatz @keriloiacono and @kenny_tre as they headed back to the states. Day Eleven - Part 1: today I marked off an item very high on my bucket list. To say it was an amazing day is a complete understatement. When we planned our honeymoon after our wedding in Ireland my mind immediately came to London, not only for the history and famous landmarks, but for this holy grail location — Harry Potter Studio Tour London at Warner Brothers. This place did not disappoint! I was in awe, I cried, I laughed, and I literally fell more in love with Harry Potter than I ever realized possible. This beautiful tour included real sets, props, and inside secrets behind 10 years of filming one of the most famous series worldwide. Guys, be prepared to see pictures of this for a very long time to come because I literally have over 400 of them in my camera roll. Day Ten: Hello London! Quick flight from Dublin into Heathrow and our first experience on the Tube — spoiler alert: we survived…. Barely! Day Nine: back in Dublin as our time in Ireland comes to close for this time. Jam packed day as we visited The Long Room at Trinity College, the archeological museum, got matching tattoos, toured the Guinness Storehouse, and finished the night off with dinner and drinks with most of the Zonts family at The Wild Duck. Day Seven: Midleton Distillery, home of my favorite Irish Whiskey - Jameson 🥃 we moved out to Cork today to enjoy a tour through the distillery and a premium whiskey tasting for the birthday man! Walking through the entire distillery was amazing, and the history was so fascinating. Day Six: Gap of Dunloe. Every time I have come to Ireland I have done the Gap of Dunloe, and every time it reminds me of why this place is one my favorite places on earth. The peace, serenity, and sheer beauty of this country astounds me. One of my main wants on my wish list when it came to hosting our wedding in this magical place was giving our guests the opportunity to experience it the way I enjoy the most. My mother, my sweet, amazing, kind and giving mother @callilu offered to take on this portion of the planning and covered all of our wedding guests on this epic day after activity. There is nothing like this experience, and I highly encourage everyone to put this on their bucket lists because it is truly one-of-a-kind. A 7-mile jaunting car ride through the Gap of Dunloe and Black Valley finished with a boat ride that crosses all three lakes of Killarney that ends at Ross Castle. Truly the only way to see this gorgeous scenery!
