#The Life Giver #jase puddicombe #aroaessidhe 2022 reads #this makes me nostalgic for a specific era of ya fantasy…..like i guess the fantasy version of YA Dystopia but also from a bit before YA Dys #Dystopia became a Thing? a lot of nz/aus books from like the 2000s and also just the random ones i read in school…. #also uh city of ember and tunnels bc underground #i think there’s nothing particularly groundbreaking about it - other than it’s nice to have no romance! yay! #i do have some worldbuilding questions like what so they eat. when do they eat. i don’t recall it ever being mentioned #the priory comp is……….ambitious and i don’t really get it lmao #BUT like i enjoyed this i gave it 4.5 stars. give me friendship n no romance and my standards are low anyway lol #no romance #i think the characters are word of god aroace but like there's no indication of anyones sexuality at all or amatonormativity or anything
