We're in the endgame. I almost have the full set of NPC's. Only the pirate remains. Today's NPC is the Witch Doctor! Jamundi is a uncommon sight. The Lizhard are very reclusive, but the Lizhard from the City of the Sun are even more so. The modern Terraria universe is very well connected. Civilizations on different planes communicate regularly, and as such the modern world tends to understand that "Gods" are simply individuals or forces of sufficient power level. The Lizhard from the City of the Sun didn't take this idea well. Their culture is heavily based around worship of a deity who raises and lowers the sun, and consider questioning the nature of godhood to be an attempt to uproot their entire social structure and way of life. As such, after first contact with the broader universe, they cut themselves off, declaring any outsiders kill-on-sight.

But the idea wouldn't go away, and the high temple, in order to reinforce public perception of the religion, sunk a lot of time and money into building a huge stone mecha that could be presented at festivals as the earthly form of the god. Normal stuff.

Jamundi the apprentice chemist was on a medicine delivery and accidentally walked into the workshop while lost. He was promptly banished.

Being uprooted from his home, life, apprenticeship, fiance, and family put poor Jamundi rather out of sorts. By the time he stowed away on the Hyperlight Alice, he had been hardened into an apathetic delinquent, who's primary concerns were now about continuing to eat and finding a quiet place to smoke.

He's integrated into the crew rather well. Captain Velacruz's policy of hiring stowaways got him a job as a security/medical officer, working alongside the equally dead inside Claire Redshift, a job that makes good use of his original medicines training. And, while he may try to avoid people, he can never turn down someone who needs someone to talk to. As a result, he tends to act as ship therapist... even if he may grumble slightly.

So, if you need somebody to light up with and talk about your relationship to, find Jamundi. Every friendly conversation helps reorient him a little more after being ripped away from home.

nuevamente, si nuevamente llego este dolor, se calma solo unas horas y vuelve de la nada, tengo un dolor en el pecho que no se quita por mas que use medicina, me duele el corazón, mi cabeza no para de ttrabajar, pienso de día, de noche y de madrugada, ¿que hago? yo misma me pregunto y yo misma me respondo, no quiero decir nada, porque pienso que es algo tonto, es algo que tiene solución dicen todos y si no la tiene, no me siento bien, estoy triste y tengo mis ojos llenos de tristeza y no se porque abunda eso en mi, tengo la solución para todos, pero no tengo solución para mis conflictos.

deseria dormir para toda la vida y no sobrepensar.

Oh yeah, now that I'm done with the NPC's, I can share some cool little things: Notably, the fact that I drew all of them in a single document!

Here it is with every single layer turned on! Good gravy! I've been drawing in this same document since February.

Let's look at some of the cool stuff hidden inside!

This was the first attempt at designing the witch doctor! That's right, this was the second NPC I tried to make. The only reason this didn't actually end up being the Mod eater Witch doctor was because I was too lazy to color him and didn't want to post him until I did. This design was scrapped in favor of Jamundi, because the Party girl and merchant ate all the conman cake and the witch doctor as I originally envisioned him became redundant. Also this art is cool, but the design didn't have that Mod Eater remix to it yet.

Much later, I did these sketches, which became Jamundi. the stupid 'Jesse Skinkman' pun really helped me figure out a good direction for the character.

This was the first drawing of the party girl, that I almost immediately abandoned. Up until this point she had been remixed into a fastidious type-A organizer... but it fell flat in the art for me, and I completely pivoted her to be what we have now.

The wizard and Pirate were also attempted very early, but fell flat. The wizard was goofy, but not the right sort of goofy for me, and the pirate was hot, but beyond that the clothier had ended up with all of the 'hot older guy with skeleton curse' juice, so the pirate required much more remixing.

Also the weird little doodles in the corner there bely some of the more disconnected doodles in this document.

weird little hollow-knight-ish things, some vix jokes... and a pair of drawings, one of Brooding-ninja-highschool-parkour-scout, and one of edgy mario. both of these sketches are fresh as fuck honestly.

The vix on the far right though is not fresh. She is in fact so poorly drawn that she is angry I have failed to draw her that badly.
