For Meghan, the surroundings are not entirely unfamiliar.

The royals don’t use private planes for personal engagements, so he took a Virgin Atlantic flight from Gatwick to Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay.

The Round Hill Resort was built in the 1950s as a series of luxurious cottages for rich and famous visitors. Guests have included JFK and Jackie Kennedy, who spent their honeymoon here.
Grace Kelly, Fred Astaire, Clark Gable, Sir Paul McCartney, and Emma Watson have also stayed.
A hotel worker revealed that Meghan and Harry stayed in a £5,000-a-night premium luxury villa, the resort’s most exclusive accommodation away from prying eyes, which comes with its own housekeeper, two pools and a games room with a bar and pool table.
Ever watchful of their safety, security guards were stationed in rooms nearby.
Guests have breakfast served on their balcony, and options include Jamaican delicacies such as ackee (a fruit like a lychee), saltfish with fried dumplings and callaloo (a leafy green vegetable).

LAGO DI GARDA - 17.09.23
Au sud du lac, une étroite péninsule sépare sur quelques kilomètres les golfes de Desenzano et de Peschiera ; à son extrémité se trouve la ville de Sirmione. Impossible d'y accéder en voiture, on l'abandonne donc à l'entrée de l'isthme, à proximité de ce magnifique lavomatique rose où nous en profitons pour laver notre linge - avec tout ce mauvais temps, on a rien pu laver à la main. Finalement le linge n'est pas bien sec... Alors avant de partir en balade, c'est redécoration intérieure de la camionetta !
Après une petite heure de marche, nous arrivons dans le centro storico, composée à l'entrée d'une forteresse érigée au XIIIème siècle par les Scaligeri, suivie de la ville historique d'époque lombarde, et, à la pointe, les vestiges d'une immense villa romaine.
Le château est malheureusement fermé à notre arrivée, et la ville, charmante, est bondée ; on décide donc de prendre le chemin côtier qui permet de longer les plages jusqu'à l'extrémité. On s'installe à Jamaica beach (pourquoi ce nom?!) pour manger nos sandwichs. Le tout en observant la belle vue sur le lac, bien sûr, mais pas seulement : l’accès à l'eau se fait en traversant de longues pierres plates extrêmement glissantes ; s'en suit donc de nombreuses chutes plus ou moins cocasses et l'obligation de finir sur les fesses pour tous.
Après ce beau spectacle, on part visiter le site archéologique. Ce complexe de ruines laisse entrevoir l'immensité d'une villa romaine surnommé la Grotte de Catulle en hommage au poète qui a tant vanté ces lieux. Du bâtiment qui mesurait 167x105 mètres, il reste les fondations et les plans de distribution - citerne, piscine chauffée par un couloir à bois, jardins - et les portiques grandioses des différentes terrasses, qui permettent d'imaginer la hauteur de la villa.
Il fait chaud, mais la lumière est splendide, laissant apparaître des percées de soleil, notamment dans l’église d’à côté.
On s’éloigne de la ville pour la baignade-douche du jour, au coucher du soleil, avant de reprendre la route. Direction Verona !
On a trouvé un parking qui surplombe la ville et nous offre un superbe premier aperçu nocturne de la capitale romantique italienne, avant d’aller explorer la rue et de grignoter dans une rosticcera !
