so sad that my blorbo, J37 the Pseudo Rhombicuboctahedron is not qualified for this tournament :(

he almost made it as a 14th Archimedean solid!

I wanted to include him instead of the sphere, because even if he's not always considered an Archimedean solid we must agree that he's more related to the shapes in this bracket than the sphere. But alas, I couldn't separate him from his buddy and dual, the psuedo-deltoidal icositetrahedron.

And if I used both of them then there would be 33 entrants in the bracket, which just wouldn't do. So I used the sphere, which might not be a polyhedron but it is at least a highly symmetrical three-dimensional shape.

I will find a way to put these shapes in a bracket eventually, although I don't yet know how.

Southern Resident killer whale calf J59, believed to have been born in February or March of 2022, was named Sxwyeqólh (Swee-a-kosh) in a Samish Indian Nation ceremony. Members of the J14 matriline are traditionally named by the Samish Indian Nation. Sxwyeqólh means "reason for hope child".

Her mother is J37 Hy'shqa. She is J37’s second calf after J49 T'ilem I'nges.

1917 08 On morning's golden wings - Russell Smith

This piece is an aircraft portrait of Ernst Udet's Albatros DV, #4476/17. Udet flew this bird in late summer/early fall of 1917 while with Jasta 37. It featured a varnished plywood fuselage, 5 color lozenge on the wings and rudder, a black and white striped horizontal stabilizer and his usual "LO" emblem on the side.  The landscape is loosely based on the village of Phalempin, where J37 was based during the period
