What do you like about Moomins?? I see so much pretty art about "Joxter" and you've reblogged some really pretty ones I loved too so Im curious! Ive never seen the show~

I like... the Joxter. Really, I've never seen the show (or read the books or comics) either, except for the few episodes of the old one that the Joxter appears in. Thankfully the fandom produces a lot more content for him than exists canonically

From what I can tell, the show is mainly about the exploits of Moomin and his friends: Snufkin, Little My, and Sniff, to name a few.

I guess in general the show has a calming feel that lets you look in on a life of adventure and enjoying nature without crushing responsibilities?

Joxter is a very minor character and Snufkin's absentee dad. He didn't show up at all in the first season of the recent show. He is described as being very catlike in both appearance and behavior, which is what I like about him! He shows up the most in Moominpappa's memoirs.

Hodgkins: "Joxter! What are you doing in here? Didn't you see the sign? It means you shouldn't go in!"

Joxter, completely unbothered: "Oh, I never read signs."

It's been awhile since I checked his tag. I'm going to have to go looking!
