I've js seen the daniel post on ur page and I neeeeeeeeed to say this

Daniel has changed and its understandable but imma be real rn I thing the only reason that rbr gave him the at seat was for pr purposes bc they were being mega hated on for the consistent max wins and it would be too conravertial for checo to be booted and yuki is there for Honda so the only viable was for nyck to go out

Like I hate to say this but like Daniel himself has accepted it atp because he's not rlly there for ppl to watch him race hes there for pr bc he has a likeable personality and is very bubblely

Obviously he has the right to take the seat im not saying anything on that front but he also needs to have in his head if he's not gonna put in the effort then he should js leave bc I think its unfair that ppl like liam and nyck have been given such an unfair and biased chance

I agree that they hired him for PR, but I think it was symbiotic. At the end of 2022 RB was still dealing with the bad PR from the cost cap scandal, and Max is always a polarising figure, and that was a lot worse after the Brazil thing. It’s clear they thought bringing Daniel in would soften Max’s/RB’s image. Giving Daniel, who’d been beaten down by the McLaren situation, a second chance with the team that made him, “feeding” him, building his confidence up again, it’s a good story. And it gave Daniel something to do. Everyone benefitted.

I have to say, I don’t think they went in with a clear plan of what they were going to do with Daniel. I do also have in the back of my mind those rumours about him not being able to drive until mid season as part of his McLaren pay out deal.

I do think Daniel in putting the work though. It’s clear he wants to do well at AT and to move up and finish his career at Red Bull. I think he’s having fun and maximising his opportunities, but he is also doing his job driving.

I also think it’s a bit unfair to say that it’s Daniel’s fault that Liam’s not getting a shot. There’s two drivers in AT, and a management that makes the decisions. There’s a shortage of seats and many drivers deserve seats that don’t have them. It’s just how it is.
