Closed rp w/ @ct-7707-stutter with spoilers from bad batch finale.

CX-2 was...confused. He had been knocked around so many times in the fight with the behemoth of a clone that his mind was constantly slipping in and out of consciousness.

He vaguely remembered Dr Hemlock taking his control band from his arm and taking the asset; the girl...why did she look at him like that? With shock and horror without his helmwt; and leaving the lab.

He remembered standing from the shadows and turned, seeing one of the other clones, the one with longer hair and the face tattoo, freeze from where he was about to spear him with the electro pike.

"it can't be...."

Then there were stun blasts from another angle and he didn't remember Anything else.

Until he woke up to the sound of ocean waves and sea birds.

A cluttered basket of yellowed fibers hangs from a over-hanging lip of a column-support; stray, loose pieces dangling off from the body limp and unfettered. House sparrows flutter in and out, dancing, occupied by housework, chirping song. Their bronze wings catch sunlight, scattering shadows.

timing: late april location: cityview park status: OPEN

Marlow had made a resolution to herself, to get out of the house more often. She loved her brothers and she loved the farm, but it was time to start branching out. Figuring out just who she was, and where she belonged, outside the shadow of her family.

Which meant taking herself on outings, here and there, just for the hell of it. Cityview Park was perfect for that, especially as it had started to get sunnier and warmer. Marlow parked herself on a bench with a coffee and bearclaw from Cobblestone, and the book she was currently working through. She was a solid few chapter in when she felt someone's shadow fall over her.

"Seat's open," she said, waving to the spot next to her on the bench, looking up at the other Merrockite.

There was no point in staying at that New Year’s Eve party. She hadn’t even made it to midnight, and the promise of a beautiful view of a fireworks display couldn’t lure her enough to stay. Embarrassment seemed to be the key to sobriety, because as she walked a couple blocks to her apartment, she felt the buzz of the night slip away and she was left sulking knowing she had done something tremendously stupid. She took the elevator up to her floor and opened her clutch to take out her keys. Releasing a sigh, she stepped out and walked towards her door, but soon stopped dead in her tracks. Someone was in front of her door - but not just anyone. The person she called. “Oh,” she grimaced. “You got my message, I assume… I tried to figure out a way to delete it, but I was, uh, unsuccessful I see.” She took a step closer and tried to hide her look of embarrassment. “I’m sorry. I’m fine, really. I didn’t mean to mess up your night. I feel really stupid.”
