Hi if your okay with it can you do what the Espadas think of Szayelaporro similar to the Aaroniero one please :)
Starrk + Lilynette
Szayel is always polite enough to the two of them, but there's no doubt it's an act. Lilynette finds him irritating and annoyingly complicated about everything, and Starrk would just as soon not interact with an experiment-happy mad scientist who definitely has an eye on their rank. They're both aware that Szayel does highly unpleasant things to other Arrancar whenever he gets the chance... and he's just plain creepy, beyond that.
Barragan
Weak creature that he is, it's no wonder Szayel is forced to rely on his tricks to get anywhere. As he is toward most of his unwilling allies, Barragan does not hold a good opinion of Szayel. He views him as an utter coward with very little to back up his ambitious schemes— and his tendency to kiss up to Aizen doesn't help that. Beyond that, pursuing the nonsense he calls "science" goes against Hollow nature, and Barragan is just as disgusted with that.
Halibel
While she'll admit that Szayel is remarkably intelligent and skilled at what he's devoted himself to, his morals (or lack thereof) are downright repulsive. No matter how useful Szayel may be, she can't overlook his power-hungry habits and propensity for backstabbing whenever he can benefit from it. As most Arrancar with common sense do, whether he's a threat to her or not, she tries to steer clear of the Eighth and his territory altogether.
Ulquiorra
No interest. Szayel serves his purpose well enough, but his entire personality is off-putting enough that Ulquiorra would just as soon not have to deal with him. He's well aware of Szayel's particular brand of tricks, and the more attempted power grabs he knows about, the more disgusted he is with the Eighth. Ulquiorra also finds himself frustrated with Szayel's willingness to learn; it contradicts his own narrow worldview, and he can't tolerate that.
Nnoitra
Szayel is someone who's entirely self-motivated. Despite all of his manipulation tactics, his intentions are pretty transparent to anyone who know how to look. While Szayel's dramatics get on his nerves, Nnoitra finds him tolerable— enough, at least, to work with him when the situation calls for it. As grating as he is to be around, they're both on the same page when it comes to a lack of morals and honor. Nnoitra knows what he's getting, at least.
Grimmjow
He's good at what he does, and that's about the extent of it. Grimmjow isn't a fan of Szayel's underhanded approaches to gaining power, and the fact that he relies on cheap tricks and dirty tactics to win his fights doesn't help that opinion. He might be a bit more tolerable because of his connection to Yylfordt— but considering that Yylfordt himself hates his brother's guts, Grimmjow sees no reason to put up with him.
Zommari
As the one holding the rank right above Szayel's, Zommari is aware that he's most likely a target for something unpleasant. Szayel hasn't tried anything yet, that he knows of, but it feels like a matter of time before some kind of incident occurs. He doesn't have any particularly strong feelings about the Eighth outside of that, though, and would be most content to just... not have to deal with what feels like a disaster waiting to happen.
Aaroniero
He's fairly certain that Szayel would have him in a specimen jar if at all given the opportunity. That's the primary reason why he does not appreciate the scientist's company— that, and the fact that Szayel is far from subtle about treating him like a biological curiosity, even when threats aren't included. While Aaroniero respects Szayel's intelligence and skill with crafty schemes, he knows better than to place any trust in a fellow backstabber.
Yammy
With Yammy's lack of general thinking ahead, there have probably been at least a few instances of him eating something Szayel gave him, and very much regretting it. Aside from that sort of conflict, Szayel is just plain incompatible with Yammy's worldview; he's physically weak, relying only on strategy and tricks to win his fights and get ahead. Yammy dislikes him for that alone, and as such, dismisses Szayel almost entirely from his concern.

Races Of Tower Town
Humans - the most prolific race. Just like "real world" humans, they're fairly bland - except for the fact they're the race most likely to develop "super" abilities. No one's sure why, but it gives them an edge in a world full of peoples more powerful than them. They're emotional and chaotic, only beaten out by Ogres in the strength of their emotions (as such, the two races both fight constantly and get along well).
Gnomes - gnomes are small, round, and strong. A typical gnome is 2-2.5x stronger than a human, and their density and bone structure make them tougher, too. They often have an affinity for nature, and most gnomes live in forests. However, they are also naturally curious, and some seek out cities instead, and so you have "forest" gnomes and "city" gnomes. City Gnomes have a tendency to adopt cultural cues they like from other species, in order to blend in and be friendly. They don't see it as appropriation, but instead a form of appreciation for what they consider beautiful. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, after all. They often use terms relating to rocks and their "roundness."
Talpa - Mole humanoids who are thought to have been created by the Demons. While most are small and relatively weak, larger variants do exist, and they're extremely dangerous. Warlike and aggressive far beyond what their small stature would suggest, they're often very bloodthirsty. They have huge, flexible claws, which gives them natural weapons. They were the footsoldiers of the Great War, and huge numbers of them were cloned. This makes them extremely common, but they've become a bit inbred as well, resulting in them often not being very bright (and they often weren't to begin with). They have an obsession with spikes. They're also fanatical in nature, resulting in them often forming cults around influental personalities.
Ninda - a species whose bodies are always some form of bread or bread-related substance. Ninda are sometimes fragile, but cunning and intelligent. Just like humans, they have avaricious natures, and were one of the primary perpetrators of the Great War, seeking to expand their dominion. However, after being betrayed, they switched sides and joined the Alliance of Nations. A huge portion of their population was wiped out in the last days of the war, and so they're rare in the modern day. Most are physically weak, but like humans they have a strong tendency to develop unusual powers. A great many of them are found in high stations, like scientists, priests and politicians.
Ogres - Ogres are very much like large, colorful humans. Their skin comes in a wide, and wild, variety of colors, and their features are often exaggerated - wild beards, pointy noses, large ears, and so on. They also occasionally have horns, though this is rare, and usually found in eastern hemisphere ogres, often called "oni." They are the third most likely group of the non-created races to have powers, after Humans and Ninda. Ogres are often very emotional, with aggressive temperaments. However, they are often just as vigorously friendly, sometimes to the same people. There are rumors that Demons are actually incredibly powerful Ogres who unlocked some ability to become immortal. The Ogres themselves don't know if this is true or not.
Pigs - a race of pig-men created as laborers before the Great War. Often not incredibly bright, they are often to be found as manual laborers in any nation. Generally smelly, crude, and easily satisfied, there are some standout individuals, and they make up for their overall lack of exceptionality by being prolific and durable. Some races used them as a food source both before and after the Old War, but this practice has been outlawed.
Cheeseslimes - a race of slime individuals made of cheese. Created before the Old War, no one knows why they were created. While physically fragile, they can actually survive in a host of environments with no lasting harm, climb up walls and across ceilings, and manifest limbs temporarily if necessary. Stronger individuals eventually take a more humanoid form, known as a Curdley.
Verdurans - colloquially known as "Veggies," they are literally humanoid vegetables. While larger ones are often stronger than a base human, they are otherwise statistically the same. They fill a very similar niche, as well - they can be found anywhere, doing anything. It's rare for them to have exceptional powers, but not unheard of.
Curdleys - less a race and more an ascended form of Cheeseslime, they have become strong enough to hold a humanoid form permanently. Often employed as footsoldiers and laborers, they take pride in what they have accomplished. Once a Cheeseslime becomes a Curdley, all their descendants will also be Curdleys. While still a bit more fragile than most humanoids, they often wear armor or other protective gear to make up for this.
Litha - literally "Stone Men," no one is entirely sure how the Litha came to be. They are rare, and for all intents and purposes immortal. Often immensely strong, they also have strange powers allowing them to alter reality in their vicinity. While they have no gender by birth (after all, they're stones), they often choose one upon reaching adulthood, after which they will display traits associated with their chosen form. They usually have some form of unusual personality, taking on aspects of animals or having extreme quirks. They are also capable of performing the process of "mingling," which allows any two individuals who are not able to biologically reproduce (either due to gender or other incompatible biology) to produce a child with traits of both individuals. This is considered a great honor and not to be taken lightly. Litha are often reclusive, but if a visitor is friendly they are treated with courtesy and respect. However, due to their immortality, they can hold grudges infinitely as well, so making an enemy of one is nearly always fatal.
Demons - an evil race very physically similar to Ogres, they live for the pain, suffering, and torment of others. Greedy, avaricious and cruel, they would literally burn the world if they could (and tried at least once). Some have powerful abilities even beyond what other races have, bordering on miraculous. One of their favorite things is to corrupt other races and start wars. They live in secrecy and can shapeshift in order to hide - however, if their emotions get the better of them their true natures appear. Nearly every race hate Demons, especially the Ogres, but some Talpa literally worship them, forming cults around them.
Toppins - the Toppins are a mystery. While they have been seen since before the Old War, no one knows if they were created or simply came to be. Toppins are small creatures that always look like ingredients common to that area - for example, around La Crosta, they always look like pizza toppings, while in other areas they can look like any foodstuff common to the area. Long thought to be little more than intelligent animals, lately they've been showing unusual acuity, and some of them can even speak fluently. No one knows why they've suddenly become more prolific and more demonstrative. Toppins will often choose a person to latch onto, and follow them whenever possible. While they look like food, eating Toppins is considered incredibly cruel in most places in the world.
Mingles - less a species and more of a classification, Mingles are created though a special process enacted by a Litha. Two individuals who normally would not be able to produce offspring (same gender, incompatible biology, etc) contribute a blood sample, and the Litha uses those to create a viable embryo. The embryo is encased in an "egg" for roughly two weeks, during which it must be in skin contact with at least one parent at all times. During this time the egg drains whoever it's in contact with, so trading back and forth is required. Non-parents can carry one for a while, but this is risky. After two weeks, the egg hatches into a viable infant with traits of both species. They express all their traits as their parents would have, with one taking dominance over the other in some circumstances. Mingles cannot always breed, though they express sexual characteristics just as their parents would. Gender is random, and cannot be chosen.

nat -- coming to you with some disheveled thoughts bc you have the best sexiest brain -- i was talkin with one of my other friends about canon-adjacent reiner with a secret marleyan s/o 🤔 specifically, reiner starting a family with them and how torn he'd be about having to keep his lil baby a secret 😩 i'm just here to yell into the void with you about this poor teddy bear man
Rory you are too kind to my brain. It is truly just a lump of mush that fires decent thoughts once in a blue moon but let's see here
I know we were all talkin in the server about exactly how much status becoming a Warrior gets you in Marley, and it doesn't seem like much so definitely would need to be a secret baby.
For stuff like this my brain always swings to someone who is either a doctor or scientists. I know it's definitely not always the case but being in such a profession makes me think that person might be more sympathetic to Eldians cause when things get right down to it, the only way they become "monsters" is through the tampering of Marley science and carrying on this legacy of the 9 through--if we're being frank--barbaric practices ((I've been thinking about the intricacies and ritualism of titan transfers though and would love to chat about that in another post/with peeps))
AAAAAANYWHO....
So maybe they're a medic or someone who's consistently in contact with Reiner and the other Shifters and candidates as their primary physician/researcher?? I feel like it'd need to be someone who'd be close enough to be around when they get sent out on the front lines of the Mid East War battles. It took four flippin years, and doesn't seem like the Shifters were used very often due to the heavy artillery.
I'm getting so in the weeds with this and not what you asked lol
But them spending so much time around Reiner, maybe in the interim after taking blood samples and waiting on test results to take more samples they strike up conversation with him? Maybe they're curious about what things were like over in Paradis, but from a like-- what kinds of plants do they have? Is their food similar? What do their schools teach in history ((cause like is it common knowledge that the king guy erased the memories of the folks on Paradis? I don't think so right? Like do the brass in Marley know? @erudianokabe @lemmetreatya yall are like my lore go tos))
But anywho, maybe it's refreshing for Rei to get to talk about what it's like there without having to focus on the people aspect too much. Or at least the people he knew. So he doesn't have to spend so much time balancing the lying and keeping up pretense?
In my canon adjacent insert au, YN is in a similar profession as above + knew Rei and everyone before they got shipped off. And part of what draws them closer together is they're around when Rei experiences a couple DID shifts that get triggered through some things ((I honestly need to do more research to feel comfy writing those but that's my thought))
But yeah, I think you're right it would be really really tough for Rei having to keep his child a secret. Cause hello, cycles repeating much. I think once knowing about said child he'd do everything he could to be their father short of them calling him their father? Ya know.
I don't think his self loathing and chronic depression egged on by shit tons of survivor's guilt would vanish cause of this new love in his life or their baby. Which sucks. Wish brains weren't so dumb and awful. But I think, he'd be trying to figure out how best to set them both up to be taken care of after his time is up in a couple years. Oh gosh. That'd be such a big thing for him too probably!!
I feel like the baby would definitely not be planned. Cause he wouldn't willingly want to bring a baby into the whole secrecy scenario, but also, then not even being able to be around as a surrogate dad in principle cause he'll be dead no matter what before they're even 8 years old would really crush him. :/

Me!
Hogwarts House: Primary Hufflepuff, Secondary Gryffindor
I was sorted into Gryffindor when I was a twelve around when Pottermore was first launched and then I took it again when I was sixteen and I got Hufflepuff, this was after they redid it but also I had changed a lot in those four years.
Ilvermorny House: Pukwudgie
Personality Type: INFP
82% Introverted, 85% Intuitive, 79% Feeling, 76% Prospecting, 69% Turbulent
Wand: Apple wood, Dragon Heartstring Core, 12 ¾ length, Slightly springy flexibility
Patronus: (Unclear)
Pottermore — Dragonfly — (According to Mugglenet.com) The dragonfly is steeped in illusionary magic. The abilities to create a strong, almost "hypnotic" outer shell for the world, see beneath your own illusion and those of others, and gain strong mental clarity are common traits of the dragonfly. It is also a messenger, carrying with it messages from the past, far distances, and the spiritual realm. Dragonflies are representative of what it means to be light, reflective, and full of joy - in all senses of the words. Dragonfly medicine tends to be very emotional and passionate, often accompanying a great revelation or discovery of self. This Patronus may be tiny, but its spirit is enough to battle any Dementor.
Heywise — Stag — Stags are known for their bravery and leadership. They are bold and stand their ground. Friends are in awe of your courage, which enemies can never match.
Buzzfeed — An Otter — You’re the “smart one” among your group of friends and you’ll do anything for the people you love, even if it means getting in trouble. You’re a realist and appreciate a good book filled with knowledge and facts.
Brainfall — Elephant — With a friendly and loyal nature, you’re a friend to many and enemy to none. Just don’t let your happy-go-lucky attitude come across naiveté.
Howstuffworks — The Stag — You got the stag, which is the same as Harry and his father, James Potter. Having the stag as one’s Patronus symbolizes fearlessness and strength. You are very much an adventurer who is always ready for actions, but sometimes you take action without thinking. Although others may see you as reckless, your intuition has rarely steered you in the wrong direction. Your heart is pure, despite the many temptations that come your way.
Personal opinion — Some mythical creature, maybe the Loch Ness Monster or the Kelpie.
If not, a Badger or a Tasmanian Devil (Both loyal, adorable, but if provoked can be very dangerous, I mean Badgers literally eat snakes for breakfast and unless the Eagle gets lucky, the badger would win. A badger would only win against a lion if the bager was very lucky and the lion was injured, sleeping, or a cub but badgers have even been described by the Guinness Book of Records as "the most fearless animal in the world" and are capable of fighting off larger predators like lions.)
Or maybe a fox (they're not as Slytherin-like as you think, I think their usual folklore mostly in Japan where they're seen at Kitsunes [literally Japanese for "fox"] which are tricksters but they are also seen as faithful, kind guardians. Foxes are quite loyal, they're usually not vicious unless provoked, and they are considered cunning and clever but scientists actually think this may be due to their natural uncanny ability to use the magnetic field to hunt their prey. Also, in like 2011, archaeologists found a 16,500-year-old body with a fox with the remains which suggests that maybe foxes as pets predated even dogs, which were though to be the first pets.) They're still quite sneaky and guaded which is me. I consider myself an eccdentiast which means I laugh to hide my pain. So much so that I actually relate to the Joker better than Batman (I don't like Batman very much, he's not a good role model with his black-and-white morality view of things and immediate reaction is to break someone's jaw.)
Mugglenet only has Badger though as Tasmanian Devils are usually only recognized due to Looney Toons’ (Frankly slightly offensive representation of ADHD as a girl with ADHD) character, Taz. — The recognizable mascot of Hufflepuff House, badgers represent determination. Badgers mostly keep to themselves but are aggressive when threatened. Connected to the earth, the badger is grounded and celebrates individuality. This creature’s stubbornness and instinct to protect make it a formidable enemy for Dementors!
Notes: I tend to fall in love with fictional male characters who are either neurodivergent or broken. I know that’s terrible but I believe that being broken can either make you just like who broke you or being better than them and proving that you don’t have to put down others just because you’re unhappy with your life.
Here's a list of the characters I’m in love with: Isaac Lahey, Jason Todd, Steve Harrington, Campbell Bain, Spencer Reid, Tenth Doctor, Julian Devorak (From the mobile game, Arcana), Kol Mikaelson, Theo Raeken, Arvin Russel (Despite not seeing the film, Devil All the Time), Crowley, Peter Vincent (From Fright Night), Honestly quite a few of David Tennant’s characters, (And I want to do a little note on Camping, oh my gosh, I never thought I could hate a Jennifer Garner character so much. I love Jennifer Garner in Thirteen Going on Thirty and Love, Simon, those are the only two that come to mind right now.)
But Isaac Lahey is honestly my perfect man, he’s loyal, sweet, and a little broken (thanks to his abusive father), but he doesn’t let that turn him into a bad person yet he’s not completely pure of heart and unlike Scott is willing to let people die if they deserve it (Aiden and Ethan) but was willing to do it Scott’s way. Even though his dad broke him physically and mentally, he still loved him and didn’t fight back, he was still scared of the abuse. He’s brave and protective of those like cares about and he’s not cocky (I mean he was for a few episodes but he had gotten the power of a werewolf after being so powerless for so long.
As the actor put it when asked if he could change one thing about the world: “I would honestly, this is honestly what I would do, I’d put women in charge of every country in the world.”
He is protective to the point of violence (towards those who did the harming), he’s emotional, and doesn’t feel the need to prove his manliness by being tough and emotionless like Jackson does and I feel like masculinity in a man (as in the most common term, meaning manly being tough and never showing emotion) is quite irrelevant these days. I'm a girl and have little to none femininity. I hate dresses, I hate the color pink, in middle school because people kept calling me cute, I kept my hair in my face to hide it.
