Esp @esperantoauthor and Gwen @cerriddwenluna tagged me for this a while ago and I, uhhh, straight up forgot. I saw them, thought “oh I need to think some more about this cause I am not the best with shows cause I keep rewatching Glee instead of watching new stuff”, and then forgot.

But here we are! Apart from, uh, number 1, they are in no particular order.

Chapter 1: 

I went missing in Lazise as a child

I mistakenly believed the San Benadetto thing when I was a kid

My family rented that boat 

The son of a friend of my mum’s dove in the water for €10

My uncle N asked for the sconto.

Chapter 2: 

My uncle H was speeding in the sharp bends. I wanted to add the part where he honked at every corner to ease my cousin’s fears of being run into, but the paragraph was already too off-topic.

Giunti is where my parents have bought cooking and language books. I think someone fell down the stairs.

Chapter 3:

This one is probably more filled with Martha @martsonmars‘s easter eggs

I never went to Gardaland, because I hate the idea of it, so Gardaland can suck it!

Chapter 4:

Uh, I am super vague about the location of the parking garage, since I couldn’t find it on Google Maps, but it’s where my family always parks.

Chapter 5:

Miravalle is quickly mentioned. It’s a restaurant a bit farther away and we call it the “fancy roundabout restaurant”.

My sister is the bastard who cuts spaghetti and orders cappuchino after dinner. She’s every Italian’s worst nightmare.

Chapter 6:

Giacomelli Daniele Tabacchi is just there. I mean, there are more places in Salò that are mentioned that I vaguely recognise, but this tabacchi is so familiar to me and my mum and I buy magazines there. I often bought Italian Winx Club magazines. No, I can’t read them.

Leonardo Guizzetti is what we call “de leer man”. I never bought anything from it, but almost everyone in the family has a belt from Guizzetti and most women have a bag. The people there sometimes recognised us when we got back the year after. Probably not because of face, but because we’re a huge group of Dutch people.

Chapter 7:

Sure, I’ve never gone to Milan, but my sister has and she witnessed a robbery.

This chapter has the first mention of outlets in Toscana. My family often visited Salò OR the Tuscany region and then the outlets were a must-visit for everyone except me. I often took some Nintendo games with me and I stayed at the little café playing video games, cause I couldn’t care less.

Chapter 8: 

The Goddess Hylia isn’t necessarily a ‘me’ easter egg, since it’s an easter egg from The Legend of Zelda, but look, 2021 is the year where I became a huge Zelda fan so saw an opportunity and I took it.

Simon’s description of an ideal Italian restaurant is the description that my dad and uncle H use.

Chapter 11:

The bikers are a reference to my dad and sister, who biked to Verona from the Netherlands. Their final stop was right in front of the Arena.

Disney store is honestly the only store that I can remember from my few trips to Verona.

Grom ice cream best ice cream, although I don’t remember having it in Verona. Grom can be found in several places in Italy.

Norberto is named after my uncle, like I mentioned in the end notes.

Chapter 20: 

A so-called roundabout restaurant gets mentioned briefly. I so desperately wish I could name drop it. I’ve scoured Google Maps, but I couldn’t find the name. The “restaurant bij de rotonde” is such a staple of our trips to Salò and no one in the family knows its proper name, because we don’t call it by its name. I even texted my parents, but they can’t place it either.

Chapter 21:

The boat rental thing is def a thing. I mentioned it in the first chapter.

Chapter 22: 

The ugly ass market dress refers to an ugly ass market dress that I insisted on buying as a child. It was dark fuschia, which is usually a nice colour, but it was also neon-ish, and it had a plastic brown belt that was too big for it. I can understand why my mum tried to stop me.

The inappropriate shirt, as mentioned in the end notes, is very real. I asked my dad and he thinks he bought it in the Lago Maggiore area.

The story of the restaurant with a view was what happened to me during the writing of this fic. I remembered Classique so much and I used quite some time looking for it, and then I saw it’s fucking expensive. Good thing that Baz is a rich kid.

Chapter 23: 

Casa Dolce Casa is an easter egg that’s NOT from the Lago di Garda area. I honestly can’t remember where I saw it, but we once visited an area that was very popular with the English, so there was a touristy shop called casadolcecasa and my dad and I spent way too long deciphering it. I liked the home sweet home pun so much I decided to add it.

Chapter 24: 

The Mulino Bianco cookies are a must have. I always like the Abbracci, but the Batticuori are nice too.

Rossi is a fake last name that some family members use in Italy. A lot of us use Italian versions of our names to when we order food or make reservations to make it easier for the staff. Now that I think about it, Simon mentioned using Neve as a last name. Huh, an unintentional easter egg.

Chapter 25: N/A

Chapter 26: 

As mentioned, there are a lot of different spells in this chapter. The only “easter eggs” are Prova a prenderci, La mia conzone and Un Cielo Senza Stelle which are the Italian titles of three of the best banging Winx Club songs ever, Catch Us If You Can, Heart of Stone and A Sky Without Moon and Stars. 

And yes, another Legend of Zelda reference. I was playing Ocarina of Time at the same time, so I decided to write that line for my own amusement.

Winx Club girls in Sims 4

So, if you’ve ever seen my personal blog (I have long given up on trying to keep those blogs apart, in fact, I just found out that my personal’s icon has been underneath istillloveit’s icon for all this time) you see that I am absolutely in love with the Sims 4, and its CAS is the best. You have such a huge variety of costumization with its clothing combinations, body types, etc. 

Anyway, here are the Winx girls in the way I imagine it. Am I completely satisfied? Absolutely not, I never will be, but I still like it. At least, they’re not all wearing heels/the same fucking thing with just different colours (or different shades of pink) like in the actual shows, and they don’t have the same body type.

I have the base game, City Living, Get To Work, Get Together, Romantic Garden Stuff, Vampire, and Parenthood. No CC.

Bloom

Bloom’s always been the more casual one (at least, up until the point they basically dressed the same). She’s wearing a snuggly cardigan and some comfortable pants with sneakers. I tried to use her original blue/yellow colour scheme.

Stella

Stella’s outfit kind of my least favourite? I wish there was more orange clothing, but since I wanted something similar to this, I had to go for the yellow/blue once again. I did want to give her glasses. She had glasses when she was younger and since I have the headcanon she still has to use them and just wears contacts most of the time, I gave her glasses.

Musa

Back to the more tomboy-ish look? I do love her longer hair, so I kept that. I just wished that t-shirt had a red colour option, but luckily, her palette is mostly red/purple anyway. I actually really love Musa’s outfit.

Tecna

Tecna was kind of difficult to dress, but at least the Sims has a huge assortiment of short hairstyles. The crop top fits perfectly, but the pants? Woah, I took this one so that I could give her a purple/(dark) green colour scheme.

Flora

Flora got the typical Parenthood game pack outfit. Also, Romantic Garden Stuff fit her as well. Flora was also difficult to dress, because there were just so many options for her that fit her. I tried the pink light dress from Romantic Garden Stuff, or the flower skirt from the same pack, or all the flower print clothing from City Living, but I went with this one. I love the pink/green colour scheme.

Layla

Layla is ripped, just saying. You can’t really see it, because she’s wearin long-sleeved stuff, but let me tell you: she’s got so muscles. She’s very active, and that is why I gave her a more sporty look. I went for the more darker purple/green scheme and it worked out. I saw that top while dressing Stella and I said to myself: “Layla needs that”, so that happened. She also has a pair of sneakers so that she can dance easily.
