Q&A WITH ISARR EIRIKSSON __________________________________________________________________
1) How did you get involved with L'Américain?
I first met Jim in November 2011 after responding to an ad for his film. The meeting went pretty well, and I have been working on this project with Jim ever since. I’m very excited to finally shoot it.
2) What was your favorite experience abroad?
I think it must have been when I lived in Brazil for one year with my family.
3) Where will your next voyage be?
Hopefully, home to Iceland.
4) Tell us a story of someone who unexpectedly changed your life.
Grumpy Old Guitar Maker Man in Granada, Spain. I had this dream about becoming a guitar maker, so I moved to the south of Spain to learn the language and find a workshop where I could intern at. Needless to say, it’s a very closed-family-oriented business where the trades are kept inside the family. After several months of going door-to-door asking if I could help or at least just sit quietly in the corner and watch, I started to realize that maybe I should find something else to do. After getting that confirmed from yet another grumpy craftsman, I decided to try my luck in filmmaking. I quickly realized that cinematography was my thing and have never regretted going down that path. So gracias señor!
5) What is one secret talent you have?
I think I do a pretty good Donald Duck impression.
