Lahna is going to kill Sazh one of these days. How he made it out alive from her wrath we just don’t know
Something a lot of people don't realise is that Lahna was a top-class Atlas analyst before retiring alongside Sazh to set up the ranch where she works as the manager and coordinator for a lot of the things it does. The ranch is basically their child, just as much as Dajh is.
The reason she gets aggravated at Sazh about doing stuff like this is because she's one of the few people who knows his entire service record. Sazh has a nasty habit of pushing himself too hard and getting involved in insanely scary stuff that would kill anyone else. Until Saviour arrived, he basically had the most powerful combat analysis and combat perception Semblance in the world.
This meant that Sazh was extremely dangerous. Think the John Wick /Equaliser of Remnant. His Semblance can't conjure weapons or unleash attacks like Saviour, but you give him time to get a suitable weapon or prepare, and he's absolutely going to put you in a box.
And trouble seems to find him, no matter what he does, and Lahna knows how close he has come to dying on so many occasions. She was, actually, his handler back in those days, which is how they met.
Sazh's codename as an Atlas specialist (which he did on the side - publicly he was a pilot) was Excalibur.
Why?
If he was deployed into the field, Atlas won.
To this day, only the most senior members of Atlas military (e.g., Ironwood) know that he was Excalibur.
Lahna's callsign was Merlin because she was something of a wizard when it came to getting Sazh the support he needed in the field and conjuring up answers when he radioed in for intel and a backup plan.
Both of them made a very deliberate choice to not encourage Dajh to go into the military. They didn't want that for him, knowing that he'd probably be pressured to follow in Sazh's footsteps since his Semblance is something similar.
The reason they only have one kid (Dajh) is also the reason Sazh stepped down as Excalibur and set up the ranch with Lahna.
I really should do some snippets on Sazh's backstory because he actually has one of the crazier ones.

So Many Ways To Be Wicked
Chapter One: Welcome to Auradon Summary: With Uma and Harry at Auradon Prep, the daughter of Tinker Bell and son of Peter Pan are determined to bring them down no matter what it takes. It soon becomes clear that there are so many ways to be wicked, and not all the AKs are as good as they appear.  Word Count: 2,034 Chapter Summary: The new VKs arrive at Auradon Prep, but not everyone is happy as they would like to admit. AN: So this is my new story that should be at least ten chapters if planned right. Please give feedback and let me know if you’d like to read more. Content Warnings: N/A
“The four new arrivals in Auradon from the Isle of the Lost have finally made their way to Auradon Prep. We have the exclusive scoop on who  Dizzy, daughter of Drizella Tremaine, Harry, son of Captain Hook, Uma, daughter of Ursula and Hadie, son of Hades. This is an his-”
“What the hell?” A small yet extremely angry girl had ran up to the television, turning it off quickly. Tia had known she wasn’t going to be happy about the new arrivals, but still she was furious. “The son of Hades! Is it just me or is it a bit ironic that they didn’t extend the invitation to Gaston’s kids.” Kai and Erin, the redheaded twin children of Ariel and Eric, were used to her anger fits by now, but even they had to admit she had a point. “Ti it’s not like we can do anything about it.” The female said, resigned to her fate. “Yeah well, Erin, that’s because we’re not shoved up Ben’s a-” A hand quickly found it’s way to her shoulder, desperately trying to calm her. “Hey Tia it’s okay! It’s not like they’ll let Harry do anything to you.” Kai was quick to interrupt knowing that if they didn’t stop her then she would not give up ranting for at least an hour. “You say that but we don’t know. I grew up on stories of what Captain Hook did to my mum. She was terrified of him, and now his son is going to be in the one place we thought was safe. And we all saw what Uma did to Ben. If you think you two are safe then you’re deluded.” She huffed before throwing herself down onto the bed. “Where is Perry?” Tia and Perry, much like their parents were inseparable. He was probably one of the only people who could calm her down, although it was not at a hundred percent success rate. She was certainly the daughter of Tinker Bell, nobody could ever dispute that. “He was in our dorm, I think he is just as upset about this as you are.” Kai told her giving his sister a knowing look. Even though the show was meant to be the big reveal, everyone had an idea that Harry was going to be coming to Auradon. They had made an example out of Mal and wanted to do the same with the two who had kidnapped the King. “I can go and get him if you want?” “No I’ll go.” Erin was about to stand up to follow her, but Kai held her back. Mainly because neither of them really wanted to be involved in that conversation. It would be a lot better to just let them figure it out for themselves. “How are you doing with all of this?” He couldn’t say whether it was actually ‘twin telepathy’ or whatever but he knew exactly how she was feeling. Kai’s question was just a common courtesy really. That was why instead of answering she just gave her brother a look. One that told him just how stupid he was for asking the question. He rolled his eyes as he walked to the TV, turning it back on as a way of filling the silence.
“King Ben! King Ben! Will these VK’s be as good of a fit as the original four, especially with the history between you?” The interviewer didn’t seem to care that the four she was talking about were stood right in front, having to listen to the judgement of character. Hadie and Dizzy, the two younger kids were looking terrified, whereas Uma and Harry seemed to be caring even less. “This program is about second chances, and giving every young person in the kingdom the same opportunity as each other. The past is the past and we’re going to put all of that behind us now.”
“You’re not watching this crap too are you?” Tia asked as she stormed into Perry’s room, taking a seat on the empty bed. He just looked at her with a small smirk, having prepared himself for this reaction for a while now. “I feel like you already know the answer to that question, seeing as though it is on my television and I am looking at it. “Oh shut up. What are we going to do? I mean it’s not like we can just avoid him for a full year? “Why would we do that? Sounds boring if you ask me.” For a kid of Auradon, Perry always seemed to be scheming something or another. He held a record for the most detentions, although it was mainly harmless pranks. There was only the one where Chad Charming broke his foot that got him in any serious trouble, but it was mostly accidental. “So what are you suggesting?” “Thank you for asking my small but passionate friend.” He ignored her scowl, standing up to turn the telly off the the focus would solely be on him. “If Harry isn’t planning something I would be extremely surprised, so what we need to do is get in on this.” His pause was only short, as he knew she was dying to interrupt. “If we can get close to them and figure out what they’re up to, we can get them kicked out quicker than you can say Bibbity Bobbity Boo.” “And what if they’re not planning anything.” “Then we move to plan B. Frame them.” There wasn’t a verbal response from Tia, but the smile on her face informed Perry that it was an idea she was happy with. “How are we going to get close to him, I hear you asking. Well, that’s where you come in. We’ve heard that Hook is a bit of a flirt, and seeing as you’re-” “Beautiful? Charming? Irresistible?” “Also a flirt-” She stuck her tongue out at him, although she knew him well enough not to take it seriously. “- you are our way of getting in.” “Are we getting Erin and Kai involved in this one?” “Let’s see how it pans out. If we need backup we can use them or we can get some of the lost kids back together.” The lost kids were all children of lost boys, but due to being a bad influence on one another, they were split up most of the time, so it was very rare the gang all got to be together. That was why Tia was pretty much jumping up and down with excitement by this point, her anger seemingly all forgotten. “Are you coming then?” Perry was already at the door, knowing already what the answer would be as she bounded over to him, practically pushing him out of the way as she bounded down the corridor.
It hadn’t been long since Fairy Godmother had gotten rid of the reporters, leaving the new students to adjust to their new life at Auradon Prep. It had also given Perry and Tia time to get to the entrance, so that they could assess just who  they were dealing with. They had to admit the the two younger ones, Hadie and Dizzy seemed pretty harmless, but they weren’t going to let their guard down.
“It may help if you stop scowling at them. We want them to think we’re on their side.” Tia was many things, but a good liar was not one of those. Wearing her heart on her sleeve was what got her and Perry into trouble most of the time. There was one instance in which she had owned up to a prank they had both seemingly gotten away with, but her ego had to let people know that it was her handiwork. “Mmm I’ll think about it. I happen to think that my scowl is one of my more attractive features.” Glancing behind her, back towards the four she hadn’t even noticed that they had moved, so was surprised to see them not standing there. “Where the hell have th-” A broad Scottish accent rudely stopped her from finishing her sentence. “You looking fer us?” She spun right around to see Harry Hook, standing way too close to her with a look on his face that suggested he was also up to something. “You look familiar. Do I know you, princess.” Perry knew better than to get in her way, if either of them had a chance against him it was her. “I’m not a princess.” She said a pout on her lips, despite trying her hardest not to look like the petulant child she often seemed to resemble. “And we weren’t looking for you so don’t even flatter yourself!” “We?” He asked, seemingly confused, causing Tia to look to Perry for help. The source of his confusion was quickly understandable as her friend had left her to fend for herself. Crossing her arms as a way to show her anger she sighed at the guy in front of her. “Doesn’t matter. Just thought I’d welcome you to Auradon. I’m sure you’ll have a fab time.” It didn’t take an genius to clock onto the sarcasm in her voice, but there was a part of her that didn’t even give him that much credit. Biting his lip, he could tell he was making her uncomfortable, which was exactly his goal. “Can’t I get the name of a wee pretty lass like yourself.” “Tia Bell.” The familiarity finally made sense to him, as a loud laugh echoed through the grounds. “Harry Hook, pleasure I’m sure.” Holding his hook out to shake, the blonde just looked at it completely unimpressed. Catching the eye of the girl slowly approaching them Tia saw it as her cue to leave. “I think your owner is calling. Don’t want to make her mad.” She was attempting to rile him, but it didn’t work. All it managed to do was give Harry the incentive to loom above her, bringing his hook dangerously close to her face, so much so she dropped her guard so that she could make a hasty exit. “And what was that about?” Compared the the bright and colourful surroundings of the school, Uma had made a big effort not to conform, sticking to the colour palette that she wore on the Isle of the Lost. She did not look impressed that Harry seemed to be making friends, having misread the smirk on his face. He was completely oblivious to her annoyance, mainly because he was busy working things out. Despite what people thought he wasn’t as dumb as he looked. “I don’t think we’re the only ones with plans here Uma.” She wasn’t buying it though, her eyebrows raised as an obvious sign of her disapproval. “And are you sure you just didn’t get distracted by a pretty blonde?” “Is that jealousy I’m hearing?” He never took anything Uma said to heart, knowing that she was just extremely passionate about anything and everything. She on the other hand glared at his comment, not deeming it worthy of a response. “I’m just saying she’s somebody we need to keep an eye on. Hell I’ll even let you do it if you don’t want me looking at other girls.” Despite his joking tone, her response was anything but humoured. “Just because Gil isn’t here it doesn’t mean that you have to act like a complete idiot. This place is going to be ours Harry, I need you to be completely focused.” Her hand rested on his jawline, looking dead into his eyes. She would never tell anybody just how nervous she was about this. Nor how much her jealousy of Mal was fuelling her plot. But the look on her face made the pirate realise just how serious she was being. “Nobody will stop us. Not this time.” He was smart enough not to argue, instead placing the hand without a hook on top of hers. Even though they had their respective reputations, they would stop all facades just to reassure one another. “I know. You don’t need to worry yourself. If anybody can tear down their pretty perfect life, it’s you.” The grounds started to fill at this point, both of them letting go of one another to storm their way into what was now their new home.
