It has been quiet in Gotham for far too long. At least according to the Joker and Harley Quinn. And when the Joker is bored, there’s always sure to be a bang to follow. All these new people in the refugee section of Gotham, and Joker feels that it’s time he introduce himself. With our heroes’ focus on the frontline, he’s feeling powerfully ignored and that just won’t do...

Location: Gotham City Refugee Housing area.

What?: At twilight, several large trucks pull into the center of the crowded and congested refugee housing area of Gotham City. In minutes, a small platform-like stage is erected by several hulking thugs in modified clown gas masks. From behind the curtain hanging off the back steps a spectacle of a woman who can only be recognized as the infamous Harley Quinn. In a playful voice, she greets the gathering crowd, performing a number of incredible feats of acrobatics in the form of a sketch that asks one big question: Where, oh where, have the Bats gone? 

At the end of her big dance number come the pyrotechnics. Streams of thick, bright pink smoke fill the air and people beginning coughing. And then, shortly thereafter, they begin laughing. The streets seem to be filled with Euphoria which oh-so-quickly devolve into hysteria and chaos. 

As if on cue, people begin spilling out of their homes with big grins on their face, utterly inhibited. As chaos is wont to do, people joyfully begin leaving from buildings with the belief that they can fly, laughter fills the air like screams, and no one seems to be able to figure out what is causing it besides the pink clouds that seem to stream from sewer grates and storm drains, air systems and more.

The GCPD deployed will need to use gas masks to avoid getting affected, and all around them people begin resisting arrest, seeing things, and acting utterly insane, until their hearts give out from the stress and strain. A cure must be found and quickly, order must be regained, and the Hubs are open and ready for our heroes’ return.

Admin Note: Here is our second event (our first mini-event). Players can choose to involve some, all, or none of their characters, but note that each character who needs to breathe air must protect their nose and mouth thoroughly or risk being infected by the strange pink clouds. Some heroes may devote their attention to helping contain civilians and stop the sudden explosion of drug-induced chaos, some may choose to find Harley Quinn or The Joker to figure out what the hell is going one, still others may seek a sample of the strange drug in the air to break down its composition and find a way to counteract it. All choices are valid.
