I'm nearly out of non-human designs for the "Spirits" AU, just missing Vanny, Springtrap and Baby now. But for now, here's Bonbon and Bonnet, they're typically (and literally) seen joined at the hip, but can stray at least a few feet away from one another, though a string of ghostly energy keeps them connected.

If I had a nickle for every time I found a character named “Vanessa” who I associate with the colors green and red, who had a connection with a character who steals souls interesting, I’d have 2 nickles, which isn’t a lot, but it’s still weird it’s happened twice.

Kinda thinking on like, loose and silly cartoony art style with big chunky outlines and such for the designs of the characters in Through the Static, with loose, sketch-lined background art, similar to what I jotted down for the Through the Static playlist cover. That sounds fun.

So far, I definitely feel like "What's Left" is gonna be the fic that changes the most between this "mock up" opening chapter, and however the fully outlines and written fic. I also finally figured out a better way to describe these, think of them like, a "Pilot Episode" or something, an early concept that's put together as kind of a look into the idea, but that's bound to shift around and get shuffled and re-worked between these, and the final, full fic way later on.

(As usual. Im just gonna stick to doing what feels fun and interesting to me in my hobbies. And if I do this, it won't diminish my determination to finish AWLB part 2. But-)

(Again. I likely wouldn't really change the overall story. Just maybe some more details, trim away a few things that don't fit as well to me as they did at first. Etc. The original version of AWLB would still remain on Ao3 separate from the potential rewrite.)

I don't really have anything made specifically for the new year, honestly I hardly ever do holiday specific art pieces, but, I thought I'd whip up a 2023 art summary thing real quick while I was waiting up till midnight, I figured it'd all be FNaF AU stuff, but what can I say, it's been my main thing through 2023. It's been, an odd year, definitely not my worst, but, odd.

I lost what little confidence I had in quite a bit of my creative works, mostly, anything OC driven, and I feel its begun to sink into my fandom stuff too, so I feel my FNaF stuff will be, slower, in 2024, but, still I hope to finish my main fic, AWLB, and begin working more on other FNaF AU fics I have rattling around in my head. I wanna do more illustrations again, like I started on the last couple months, along with character design refs. I hope I can finish part 2 of "A Wound Left Bleeding" But that's a bit up in the air on how long it's gonna take with how badly my confidence has wavered. It'll be finished eventually, but idk how long it'll be. I'm roughly 5ish chapters away from hitting the estimated half-way point on it, but I've also not been able to work on it in a few weeks.

That being said, I do feel I improved a bit with my art this year, both visual and written, I've a ways to go as a writer, something, I'm admittedly still very new to, but, have found enjoyable, I may be clumsy with words, but I've enjoyed telling my little FNaF story so far. Visual art, I'm happy with, I've tried to get a bit looser with character designs with the refs for WWLWWF, and I feel I've not utterly lost my "spark" for illustrations despite not doing them much. Overall, I feel I'm "content" with where I am in writing and drawing, I feel I'll improve still as I just continue to play around as I've done for let's see… almost 16 years now on a more "Serious" level. Sure I always liked arts and crafts and such, but about that long ago was when I decided I wanted to really learn to draw, I think the younger version of me would be proud of the art improvement, I just wish I'd kept the boundless confidence in my work that I had then haha.

Well, anyway, Happy New Years, may it be kind to us all.
