I respect your opinion about Fairy Tale, every person I talked to about this drama knew the FL is pretty annoying but regardless Eid dramas are light so we watch. But truthfully, our standards are quite low b/c we only really get slight rom-coms during this part of year. It really is nice when someone develops a rom-com with certain scenes we'd never usually see. Fairy Tale definitely does not rival a kdrama but it's still quite refreshing to have a non-toxic drama.

I get the drama's defense of it being a respite from the usual melodrama that dominates TV. What I don't get is the visceral offense that its fandom takes when anyone points out the obvious flaws this show has. There's nothing unique about the show and yes, that includes the MC. PakDramas do have well written heroes if one bothers to watch anything more than what's trending on twitter. Umeed is based on the Geet archetype..why be offended when it was called out? Her character being flawed is not an issue but her character being praised for having flaws that would cause a normal person to be set on the course of eventual doom is one. Like the show all you want but praising it to the high skies WITH all of its major flaws only cuz "oh cute OTP" is only gonna lower the standards for the drama makers ke bhayee innko cute log dikhado phir tatti kardo poori script pe yeh humein views bhi denge aur ego bhi inflate kardenge tareefein kar kar ke. Demand better, critique continuously, don't let the makers off the hook for their mistakes; no one from the FT fandom was interested in all that. wannabe paindu Geet aur uska supposed green flag hero mil gaya toh chalo ab inke honor ke liye shaheed hojaenge.

male strength can be quite impressive, not gonna lie, this moving boy is here easily carrying 2-3 heavy boxes all stacked up at a time and practically running down 4 flights of stairs with them he’s so fast

osaka -> chiba move day has been so eventful 

it was peaceful and faster than expected all the way up until we got to tokyo but then the maps took us to this thing 

that massive repeating loop is an entrance for this underground tunnel in tokyo…the loop itself was dizzying and thank God my uncle didn’t crash but the tunnel was super long too, i’m not sure we drove the whole thing but it’s 18 km total. and feels strange and unpleasant in a way that’s different from tunnels cut into mountains since it’s manmade and massive…it’s like a subway for cars 

then we got to our hotel and rested for a bit and went out to eat. the place we went only had obviously foreign staff working and one of them couldn’t understand “without green onion” at all and the other seemed to sort of get it but accidentally charged us ¥100 for it. so we had to go back and get that refunded and they just nodded and wordlessly handed us the money without so much as a “sorry”. short staffing must be so bad in this region if they’re hiring people without the most basic conversation skills…i don’t care if restaurant/shop staff are foreign i just want them to be able to handle basic conversation. and the majority of the foreigners here do not speak english as a first language either, so it’s not like i can just speak english to them…and this low level of language skills is more than just asking someone with an unfamiliar accent to repeat themselves, not understanding a couple words here and there but piecing together the overall conversation…

after that i found someone’s phone left on a chair in the shopping center and went to the info desk to give it to them 

and then back at the hotel, there was some stuff like a toothbrush, individually wrapped q-tips, etc in a box on a shelf just behind and above the toilet and when i looked through it a q-tip fell out and through a space behind the toilet seat…and into the bowl. so then i had to call the front desk to ask for help since i can’t just flush a q-tip not do i want to stick my hand in the toilet - they were nice, came to check, came back with gloves and a new q-tip and took care of it but man i could use a less eventful day 

i’m not the only one though, whoever’s in room 217 in this hotel clearly spilled something in the hall by their door 

#i kinda understand my friend that’s complaining about immigration all the time now #where i lived the past year it wasn’t like that #just one time i had to point to things on the menu when getting oden from 7-11 since the foreign staff didn’t understand #if i said the names aloud #but i brushed it off and thought to be fair oden names are hard #i don’t really care if the shop staff are japanese or what i just want some basic level of competence #knowing enough languages to be able to understand a request to omit an ingredient is sorta essential to food service #innko talks

i started it a few months before escaping moving out of my dad’s house in 2018 (i was on tumblr since 2013-4ish but no longer have the account from my earlier teen years, i feel like i was grown up enough when i made this one to keep it forever) but good God, i’ve had this blog in every single place i’ve ever lived and probably posted about every single move. people come and go but tumblr is forever

what does one even do with their extras of old id photos? i can’t use these anymore, every time you get any sort of new id it has to be a picture from within the past few months and so much shit has happened to me since they were taken, i look like i’ve aged several years and am less cute. but do i just chuck my own photo in the trash??

looking at the calendar seeing i’m moving in ~20 days is making me feel sick. i know nothing good at all will come in terms of my health if i stay in osaka, no hospital will really help manage my pain or even get me disability support or accommodations and trying to find a job in this place like this would be hell too. but the fact that i’m moving away from my family has just fallen on me like a pile of bricks and is absolutely crushing me.

#the part where i’m going to go back to school for a bit part time…i literally don’t care about it’s just a way for me to be in tokyo area #absolutely apathetic in terms of that and i think as far as work goes i’ll be trying to get some bookkeeping/financial certs #but i don’t want to be without everyone surviving on my own like a damn roach #i’m good at it too. fucking good at surviving. #but they’re the only people i really have in this world and i don’t want to be away from them #and i don’t want to beg my mom to stay #that wouldn’t really be good for me and she needs to go back to the states soon or her greencard will get taken away #innko talks
