Summary:
Man hands on misery to man.
Or: The Kazansky kids (plus Bradley Bradshaw) and life as children of polyamorous divorce.
In this chapter:
It's a messy occasion, but not a single one of them would miss it for the world. Plus: the eldest Kazansky's latest move in her efforts to bring Uncle Maverick back to them, Bradley be damned.
Excerpt:
“Well, sweetheart, you’re a little early,” Maverick says into the side of her head, then pulls back.  “But as soon as your dad heard he went to work pulling strings, and I was a little easier to wrangle than him, for once—listen, he wants to be here, and he will, but it’s going to take a while longer to transport him stateside.  I’ve got strict orders to keep him posted via text,” he adds, somehow gleaning from her expression that she isn't mollified just yet. “Like you wouldn’t do that anyway,” Mom says fondly, following him into the room. It stings.  It stings the way it always stings, when one of them isn’t there when she needs them.  The way it’s stung for the last day and a half, knowing she might end up doing this without either of them.
