I’ve studied Venus rising from the waves And I’ve seen Victory with her ripp’ling wings I’ve watched angels fly ‘cross ceilings of naves But sensed incompleteness in all of these things

I’ve wandered in forests and sailed the seas I’ve prayed in cathedrals where kings have knelt But no place in its transcendent beauty Compares to how, when I met her, I felt

I’ve scour’d the dictionary end to end And underlined all the beautiful words But none could compare and none could transcend Her beauty, by half or even by third

So instead, I write of, words plain and clear, My heart enchanted, my feelings sincere.
