Their dating profile would be "looking either for a one night stand or to get into a toxic relationship with another depressed person to see which one of us can do worse before legal problems because i do not have that kind of money"

They're machiavellian to the extreme, to the point of having planned out strategies and charts for each person they're talking to. What makes them different from other manipulators in PPR is that they all have reasons. This guy? "Why not". They don't have an actual reason to do any of this.

Phthonus is also very aware of what kind of person they are and their flaws and has the philosophy of "Well I could wake up any day and completely choose to be a good person but why should I"

The way that this all started is that they were a product of their father's affair after he was frustrated over not being able to have a kid with his actual wife. He did end up having an "actual kid", who ends up being Eros.

Phthonus is a sort of guardian angel to Eros, quietly watching from a distance and sending letters directly in his room. They've gotten this sort of close bond, to the point that Eros completely trusts them with highly personal things.

When I say that they're a guardian angel, it's closer to making sure everyone Eros is close with does not hurt him, to the point of threats and in one case, cutting a hand off to drive a point home.

That person with the cut hand? is their father. Phthonus used their stand, How Soon Is Now? [which is a chainsaw], to cut it off and say that "If you ever hurt Eros, I'll take your other hand"
