every day i can't walk 3 meters online without tripping over a queer white kid who grew up in a repressive religious household and yet somehow "parents should monitor their kids' activity online for safety!" is way too fucking prevalent as an argument. something's not adding up. fucking THINK

“Well... you know... they grew up in a different time” was always a bad excuse but its an even WORSE excuse now that i get to tell you that my grandpa, who was born in 1931, was just informed that i am transgender and he IMMEDIATELY

-asked what my new name was

-reassured me that this was completely accepted

-told me he had no idea what this was like for me but was proud that i’d made the choice to be my TRUE SELF!!

-CALLED ME BY MY NAME

-acknowledged that the church treats queer people badly

-told me that people might not accept me but jesus does 100%

-im not religious but still

-checked with me what nicknames were ok

-asked if he could still call me honey or if buddy would be better

-IS LITERALLY A NEARLY 90 YEAR OLD WHITE CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIAN WHO WATCHES FOX NEWS!!! WHAT IS YOUR EXCUSE!!!!
