MORE SILVER SPOON CHARACTER ANALYSIS ‼️

finally making the part 2 i eluded to in my last post, since iii 15 and i have a ton more to add

for context, last post i outlined all of silver spoon’s char development from the first episode up to iii 14, but now that a new episode has come out i have more to say

major spoilers for iii 15 obvi

i had originally seen silver’s devotion to candle after her elimination as a good thing. he was thinking about somebody else for a change, being a better and more selfless person. candle did a complete 180 on me, and i completely agree with her. this episode ultimately showed that despite this confident persona he puts on, silver is a follower. without candle’s direction, he was suddenly lost. he thought that by “keeping her flame alive” she could still guide him through the competition in spirit. as though her tuning fork and crystal were an extension of her inner flame, something he had never truly understood throughout the series. at the end of the episode, it finally clicks.

candle says, “and now, you can tend to your inner flame.” as in allowing him to focus on himself. allowing him to be selfish like he once had, but in a completely different way. in a very indirect way, she is telling him that it is okay to think of yourself for once, that he isn’t who he once was. i think he might have been afraid to do so in fear of losing his growth and regressing to who he once was. candle’s patience with him is what allowed him to grow into himself, but he isn’t using it. he only wants to rely on her direction, as though he doesn’t trust himself to make the right decisions. but, she assures him he can continue on without her. even the most selfless people must think of their own needs too.

silver finally letting go of candle will allow him to completely focus on the competition. i think this has secured him a spot in the final two. and, as a side note, i think cabby will be alongside him. it makes the most narrative sense considering how much attention they’ve both gotten and how much character development they’ve gone through.

this is my prediction for the final 5 eliminations:

iii16-17: balloon and nickel (they set up for nickel to finally apologize and have the two make up, finishing their arcs and ending in their eliminations. i could even see this being a double elimination as a parallel to their season 2 elimination.)

iii18: blueberry (it will be close because of his new competitive spirit, but without allies he will be easily ganged up on by the two more experienced contestants)

iii19: who knows? i could genuinely see either silver or cabby winning this. they’ve both fought so so hard to get where they are, and grown so much. although, i’m leaning towards cabby since she has allies in the indefinites, bot, and likely test tube as well.

iii ummm checks notes 15??? yeah iii15 spoilers

I'm gonna start with things I DID like first::::

I really like what they did with Cabby and Lifering. I love that Lifering was encouraging her as much as possible to use the things that work for her. I also love that he compared it to using a media kit to fix his ankle. Her not using it was preventing her from something that helps her live her life, just like how an untreated broken ankle would prevent him from living his life .

I was so excited to see blueberry!!! My little guy :33 was very happy about that.

The callbacks to season 2 were nice. The joke about leaving the contestants behind was infact silly.

As much as I love YY . I am glad they got eliminated.

Ok. now onto the things that wrre odd.

First and foremost, the 50 different arcs at once. Ik I'm exaggerating that, however, season 2 would spent an episode or two on one or two separate arcs (I know that ae says they're nit trying to make s3 like s2, but it really just seems like theyve abandoned that.)

Candle and Blueberry were being so??????? odd??? o dont get why they just reside candles arc but. worse. in like 20 minutes. blueberry especially was completely different. he didnt care about the competition like 5 episodes ago. why is he suddenly acting like hes the best wt everything.

I cant really think of anything else.there probably were other things but I watched it like an hour ago and have forgotten.

iii15 thoughts (spoilers)

im going to be Real here i didnt really like blueberry before because he kind of felt 1 note but this episode has quickly made him one of my favorite characters! hes such a little shit now

i liked this episode a lot like in general! i think everything was done well, and it was funny.

i see a lot of people mad about the elimination but personally i think it was right. i know that yin-yang is a fan favorite, but they were definitely not gonna win. it was time

i am happy about the eliminated contestants staying around like in BURNER! itll allow for some more arcs to get completes and for more fun character interactions :D no matter who you rooted for in the rejoin we all win a little here.

im gonna talk more when i rewatch and can make more Smart thoughts. but these are just the things on my mind rn

This episode gives me like the tiniest glimmer of hope for season three because maybe just maybe blueberry rejoining can fix it.

anyways this episode was probably my favorite out of season 3. It wasnt very good but compared to everything else I like this one more (its probably because of blueberry)

I like yinyang as much as the next person but I’m honesty kinda relieved that they finally got out (plz don’t hate me yinyang stans)

and, most importantly and obviously,

blueberry ABSOLUTELY SLAYED this episode!! I love when characters who were overlooked or hated get a villain arc and prove themselves! AND he’s still so silly while doing it! absolutely iconic.
