HELP A TRANS WOC IN INDIA TRANSITION
Tumblr media Tumblr media
@dalitqueerinframes:
Hello, I am Shailesh (Chosen name will be Shalini after surgery) My pronouns are She/They. I am a trans person living in male body and I want to transition to fit into my right female body.
When I was young, I used to ask my father if I can become a girl, and foolishly he would tell me, by morning I will change into a girl. Time and again I have waited for that moment to come, but it never arrived.
The process is not an easy one. My body, my lifestyle, my very day is going to change, and for that, I need your help.
I wish to undergo the transition process (I hope you have watched Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui?)
For that I need to first go through HRT treatment. Which will allow my body to change, get into shape of a body as female.
I am required to visit psychiatrist and do my MMPI and RDR test done for my GID (Gender Identity Dsyphoria certificate)
Once that is done, I will require to visit an endocrinologist to run my blood test and check the level of testosterones present in my body. Accordingly, as my result will come out, I will be prescribed Estrogen meds, preferably I choose to go with Estrogen cream.
My journey doesn't end here, rather it starts here, In every three months I will be required to do my kidney and liver functionality test.
My therapy will go on as it goes now, except that, I will be required to visit my psychiatrist and endo every month, or once in a while for my improvement.
With this, I need to get LASER HAIR REMOVLE treatment. I have scars on my face, hence, the money will go there to go through laser treatment to get rids of those scars.
I know if may feels I am talking too much things here, but please understand that to become something that I wish to be, comes with cost, and I am not someone who can afford it. Hence, I also want to bring your attention to my teeth structure. I want to go undergo braces treatment too. And I hope you all know what it costs are?!
Last, but not the least, the main thing- MY SURGERY. Once I complete my HRT treatment for at least a year, I will have to go through GENDER AFFIRMING SURGERY. There are different type of VAGINO PLASTY SURGERY and from them I wish to go through SIGMOID COLON VAGINO PLASTY surgery. It is costly and a invasive surgery.
It costs around between 4 to 5 lacs. And the best doctors are in Delhi I am told.
I stay in Mumbai, to visit Delhi, to go through the surgery process, to stay there and wait there to recover will cost money.
I hope you understand my feelings and I hope you come forward and help me with what you can afford. I hope you contribute what is possible for you, I hope you share my fundraiser.
Please can you be there for your another trans fellow?
Thanks!

Greetings to all and the joys of the World .. ❤️ from your Ef Family .. 🙏🏻🚩
Tumblr media
So .. a few days off .. and the days spent in reflection , rejuvenation .. not of the age kind but to gain the knowledge of what goes on inside the World of reflection .. smart yes ..
Yes ..
It is , or rather are the reflection days .. a wonder why certain ‘givens’ were given , why certain doings were being done .. why a name an act an act .. and so many other ‘whys’ ..
The curiosity widens .. and it is not the curiosity , it is the will of the mind to delve into regions which were in a sense reserved to ask or know ..
Now with age the ridicule has lessened .. now with time they that are asked or are brought into the picture by me , are convinced that the man is 81 , old decrepit and mental , bear him .. it shan’t be for long .. and the responses go on with a sense of  .. ‘poor guy , so uninformed , let him be .. etc etc etc .. “
Also the temerity to seek and voice matters that may never have been done earlier have reached the stage of a fearless disposition ..
So to start with ..
Wimbledon is on .. and the Women players get Women ex champions in the commentary box to speak and inform and comment .. most of the time .. the Men players get ex men champions in the box ..
BUT ..
Typically .. give a microphone to any individual and they shall never stop talking .. and this I notice often ..
In the game of tennis or any such moment , when the entire concentration is in the players and how their mind is working etc., the commentators keep talking .. hey ! I want silence at that time .. I want to get into the mind of the player and the ladies keep commenting on past games and opinions , and moments as to why he or she played so and so and such and such ..
NOOO ..
I do not want to be disturbed by your chatter .. give me all that you have to say in the break .. when the players wipe face drink energy, eat energy chocolate, complain to the Ref , ask questions facially to their team on the stands above , lament that the crowd is not with them .. and so on ..
then talk as much as you like .. !! hahah .. its limited there isn’t it , because the Ads., start .. hahaha .. the ad., money is so needed for the commerce of the Tournament .. many of you would not know that there never used to be a break in tennis before .. the players just changed sides and carried on .. the break was deliberately introduced to give time to the Ads., to run and for their Commerce to thrive ..
AND THANK THE LORD FOR THAT .. !! I get a job too .. the Ad.s and the endorsements  .. hahah !!
yes their experience and stories of past moments .. or guidance of how the game goes on and what the strategy should be - unless its an English Brit playing ..  then it’s all about them even when they are losing .. it’s always the ‘sun’ coming in the eyes , the wind is blowing against them when they serve or take a smash shot .. the shadow keeps changing on the court , the linesmen are making mistakes .. ufff .. the list is endless .. even when the opponent has given a amazing shot, the comment if its a Brit will be .. ‘he was there, foot slipped, would have returned it .. ‘
the exuberant adjectives used when there is a Brit commentator for Cricket and their team players hits 4 or a 6 ..  !!  listen to them .. they just go on and on in praise and compliments .. !!
And for us ..  it’s just a terse inform .. hehehe ..
WE  THE PEOPLE OF INDIA, NOTICE ALL THIS  ..
But we are a tolerant people .. just that ..  ‘गले ते  हथ ना लाई  !’  as we would say in Punjabi ‘don’t put your threatening hand on my neck’ .. because we will thoko ..  ठोको,  ..  .. गळ्यात हात ठेवला तर, ठोक देणार !!!
AAAh .. a favorite subject of mine  .. and I love noticing and commenting in private , but today .. गळ्यात हात ठेवला तर ठोक देणार !!
“ to ask the hard question is simple ‘ .. किसी मुश्किल प्रश्न को पूछना बड़ा आसान होता है
So have asked .. and the answers shall be in the known medium  !!!
Love respect .. affection and more ❤️

Day 1
A Psychologist par excellence, Maharishi Patanjali was a seer who lived sometime around the 2nd century BCE. He knew the twists and turns, the pitfalls and the intricacies of the labvrinthian miracle called the mind.
Maharishi Patanjali was not only well versed with the craftiness of this mind but also knew a way to master the mind. The definitive authority on the body, mind and soul, his Yoga Sutras are an eye opening account, and perhaps the most advanced textbook of psychology.
2200 years later, this text is still the authority on the biggest global trend, that is Yoga. 2200 years later, his text finds relevance in our lives cutting across languages, cultures, borders, time. Yoga is helping people across the world deal with life and living, even today. But what is one supposed to make of the sutras written almost like a computer code?
According to Patanjali, 'Santosha' or contentment is the basic requirement for growth. But how do we get there in this day and age of anxiety and depression?
Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ji decodes the Sutras with his customary wit and elan, making it an essential addition to everyone's reading list. For anyone trying to navigate the murky waters of life, this knowledge is sure to steer you to a safe shore.
Chapter 1 - Discipline Of Yoga
Day 1
Shaasana are the rules that society or somebody else imposes on you. Anushasan are the rules that you impose on yourself. Now, why is Yoga called a discipline? Where is the need for a discipline? When does the need for discipline arise? When you are thirsty, you want to drink water.
You don't feel that it is a rule to drink water when you are thirsty. And when you are hungry, you eat. You do feel that you have the discipline of eating when you are hungry, that you have a discipline of enjoying the nature. No discipline is necessary for enjoyment. When is discipline relevant?
Not when something is enjoyable at the very first step. A child never says that it has the discipline of running to his mother when he sees her. Discipline arises where something is not very charming to begin with, when you know that it would be ultimately give a fruit that is very good and enjoyable but that, in the beginning, it is not enjoyable.
When you are abiding in yourself, when you are in joy, and when you are in peace or in happiness, true happiness, then you are already in your self. There is no discipline there. But when that is not so, the mind will wag its tail all the time. Then, discipline is essential to calm it down so that it can come back to it Self. The fruit of this is eventually very blissful and joyful.
A diabetic patient has a discipline not to eat sugar. Someone with cholesterol has to be disciplined and not to take too much fat. This is because, though fats are tasty, they will raise unpleasant complications later. There are three types of happiness - sattvic, tamasic and rajasic.
Sattvic, to begin with is not so enjoyable but it always leads to joy. The happiness which is felt after a certain discipline is really Sattvic happiness - a long lasting happiness. A happiness which is enjoyable to begin with and ends in misery is no happiness at all, so a discipline is necessary to have this authentic sattvic happiness.
Discipline is not torturing oneself unnecessarily. The purpose of discipline is to attain joy. Sometimes people impose disciplines on themselves which doesn't give any joy to them or anybody else at any time. This is Tamasic happiness. Tamasic happiness just appears to be but it is misery from the beginning to the end.
No discipline is necessary for tamasic happiness. Lack of discipline is tamasic happiness. Rajasic happiness appears very enjoyable in the beginning but ends up in misery and suffering. It's caused by following the wrong discipline. It may also arise from a lack of discipline. Discipline is essential for sattvic happiness.
To bear what is uncomfortable is discipline. It need not to be uncomfortable all the time. But if it's uncomfortable, you need discipline to be able to bear it and move through it. That's why Patanjali began with “now” - when things are not clear and when your heart is not in the right place.
Nobody has imposed the discipline of Yoga on you. They are self-imposed. What are the rules that you have imposed on yourself? When you wake up in the morning, you brush your teeth. You do it before going to bed, too. This is your discipline. But this has been imposed on you from childhood.
When you were a kid, your mother had imposed it on you. Once it became a habit and when you understood that it was good for you, it was no more your mother's rule. It became your rule. Keeping yourself clean and observing hygiene, exercising, meditating, being kind, considerate and not being rude.
You have imposed these rules on yourself to help maintain discipline. Now, what does that discipline do? Discipline unites your Self and unites all the loose ends of your existence.
Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji

Old Draft: Cold as ice rn my pressure is so low it’s stinging throughout the body n my chest is paining my lips are quivering wid any like sensation my chest feels too tight & weird.
Click on the inspiration board for better quality, it looks best however in my camera roll cuz it gets rasterised once published on twitter n other social media apps
Tumblr media
I had created these moodboards long back. I was talking about them the other day, ppl will hate ‘em cuz they might find them childish idk but there’s a lot of significance attached to each one. I’m not in the state to elaborate further but you can read my article which is scheduled for 7th Mar it has all the details www.lilacnights.com/post/my-little-barista I have never felt so numb before my bp is too low and I’m feeling like this is my last day.
Speaking of the other bathroom moodboard, my parents had just given me a raw area even 10 yrs ago when I was in my teens my living conditions were very poor I was inexperienced and I had no help (even now I don’t) so I don’t want ppl to assume I’m very happy with all my stuff or I have my family’s support & that I’m just being “whiny” for no reason. They don’t care about me… they pretend in front of strangers. The bathroom was partially tiled (I’m not in the state to write my pressure is severely low so is my heartrate n I’m very numb) it was partially tiled it was embarrassing, one cud even see the raw grouted masoned wall there, the tub had no skirting it was again just a drop in tub which they’d dumped inside (haphazardly) there was fungus growing on my shampoo and other Bath stuff, I can barely breathe rn I am not obliged to give any explanations there was no towel ring or even a wash basin stand I wud wash my hands in the outside bathroom I wud go all the way there now I’m bed ridden (luckily I renovated everything) I was made to cry when I called someone from urban clap to fix a stand there and what’s worse is that he fixed it in a slant manner it was so tilted that my clothes would get wet the WC was leaking so were all the attachments in the shower area but my mother kept challenging me and fighting as to why I had to renovate it (I used it that way for TEN LONG YEARS an entire decade) I was made to cry LIKE HELL even in my horrible health condition and I was abused a lot…
I had somehow renovated it in 2021, unfortunately now I’ll have to do it again because of some major fault on the plumber’s part + other irrémédiable issues. I was also surprised to learn that our own Indian brand is keeping their classic range only for show here at the orientation centre and EXPORTING everything to UK & Dubai where they already have other alternatives such as Drummonds and Burlington, they have the entire set with the crutch and the hand shower THERE whereas in India everything has to be purchased separately and that too they have DISCONTINUED the crutch (HERE) without which its useless, our own crutch which is made in Rajasthan is exported there and they’ve kept this classic range only for show, everything is reserved for exports. Whatever looks ugly or has that local masculine design (every other local brand has the same products only the labels differ) is kept for Indians, we are beggars or what? All the classic, heritage stuff is sent there for what? To compete with other rival brands? They are so stingy and frugal when it comes to Indian customers that they kept only ONE piece/unit in the thermostatic model and divided that also into 2 halves, just like Greek God Zeus who had split soulmates out of intimidation, the top part is sent to Delhi and the back concealed component is kept for Mumbai! How stupid? It has been rendered useless for both the cities now. I somehow procured the crutch from an old stock (box packed) and I was continuously getting a rusted concealed back unit (thermostat which is super pricey) from everywhere cuz they were rotating the same damaged piece, I somehow got in touch with another dealer and ordered it from the main hub but it was the same one from that “pair” which had no front component cuz that was lying in Delhi. So I got the front also from an old stock it has scratches but at the back of the plate so they won’t be visible. It has those beveled edges typical hotelier style which I wanted since long but I can’t elaborate further like I said, I can explain everything detail probably in person… wish I had someone to talk to I’ve always been passionate about designing and interiors in fact everything, give me any topic. All I want to say is STOP smuggling what’s meant for us - Indians… all the way to UK & Dubai. You are an Indian brand, I love the quality and make I was so excited for this I’d planned it since Nov, I got it somewhere in the first week of Dec or so (last year) but we were still struggling for the top thermostat (front and back both) and hell no I’ll never put those ugly local designs in my bathroom. I have my soap jar and other apothecary stuff there I will never compromise. I’m a lot into designing… I was going to recommend everyone to pick both your brand as well as this particular range but then I realised people won’t be able to buy anything cuz you don’t keep all this stuff for Indians. We want the crutch which comes with the Victorian set, it’s an essential, and the entire range all the models (black and white both) I was so happy with the make and mechanism but I ended up being really disappointed.
I can’t write much, people even buy your freestanding bathtubs in India we have all started buying that I’ve seen the reviews, for such bathtubs we require bigger spouts too and this was much more ideal I even opened the autocad to check if the thermostatic one which I’d selected had a single outlet or not cuz I didn’t want anything with a diverter I have a bathtub I needed something right there for my hand to reach while sitting inside the tub hence we had to spend more and I didn’t want the 3 way one, this set has a different spout which is better than the ones we are commonly getting in abroad they all have a flat nose, whereas this has a round ribbed border which looks more expensive and a mesh filter plate inside, I needed one with a crutch cuz I don’t have more room there to fit both my soap tray as well as the shower bracket and I’ve optimised whatever space I had skilfully to keep all my apothecary jars and everything to have a full sized vanity, a free standing almost 1700 mm bathtub… (cuz again you don’t get smaller ones in India where bathrooms are matchbox sized) and all kinds of other things even wall art and frames.
So I needed one with a crutch provision not a bracket, secondly the long bend exposed pipe would’ve been difficult to put there as I have a highlighter tile which is running throughout the bathroom lastly it had a tap not a spout which is a bit unappealing moreover its not long enough to enter my tub completely so all the bubble bath solution would’ve ended up at the edges (cuz it has to be poured right under the faucet in running water) and last but not the least this was my main reason - we could’ve spent half the amount but we opted for the thermostat mainly because the 3 way one had a pull and twist knob on the tap to switch between Bath spout and hand shower and I wanted the one with a lever/dongle cuz of my previous experience (which was horrible) with Kohler no offence and with wet hands it’s anyway difficult but yeah Kohler’s spout was faulty. I wanted to make a budget bathroom so I got from there but I went wrong because I also realised that all my stuff is very common Kohler has only one design or product in each category and they are promoting the same 1-2 things everywhere which means I ended up with something really common, faulty and boring. Nothing vintage or whatever we want, just the typical semi modern 2003 stuff. I’m very happy with this one (I haven’t used it yet but I saw all the functioning with the lever and knobs) and this is exactly why I wanted it, I have put the entire thing together as a set & I matched the the bottom mixer with the thermostatic one on top for my overhead shower to have 2 separate modes, I’ll be able to use the overhead along with the hand shower BOTH AT THE SAME TIME secondly I was looking for a budget mixer again but that too was discontinued and we anyway would’ve had to upturn the outlet flang or whatever from behind cuz it was meant for filling pails and buckets, now after the thermostat my shower portion is gonna have a modern touch because of how they’ve designed it, when you are paying so much you are getting that typical shower console look with black insets, they aren’t illuminated because they are not digital (that is usually there in a 50k to 1 lakh unit) however you do get the console with that typical look and everything since its an automatic model and I even edited all my stuff including the renders to make them more realistic for my moodboard cuz I was not able to find real life images. Ab naak mat kataiyen cuz ppl might show interest and none of this is easily available for Indians… it’s the classic range which should be manufactured and supplied in full swing/bulk please do that why is India always lagging behind? There’s an entire cult following including me for this Victorian style everywhere in abroad but in India we are not getting it easily especially in Mumbai.

Apple Looks to India for Future Growth Opportunities
Tumblr media
In recent years, Apple has been expanding its reach into emerging markets such as India, where the company is hoping to capture a larger share of the smartphone market. With a youthful population and a growing middle class, India is seen as a key growth opportunity for Apple, which is looking to increase its revenue in the country.
In the first quarter of 2023, Apple reported a 1.5% increase in iPhone sales, despite a slump in the global smartphone market. CEO Tim Cook attributed this growth to emerging markets like India, where the company lures away Android phone users. Cook believes that these markets will provide more opportunities for growth due to their relatively few iPhones and the dynamics of the demographics.
India is perhaps Apple's biggest focus, and the company recently opened its first two retail stores in Mumbai and Delhi. Although Apple does not disclose revenue for the country, Cook told investors it set a quarterly record, with percentage growth in the very strong double digits year-over-year. Cook sees a great opportunity for Apple in India, as there are a lot of people coming into the middle class, and he believes that India is at a tipping point.
Apple is the second biggest revenue-generating brand in India, according to research firm Counterpoint, second only to Samsung. It gained 18% of the total value of smartphone shipments in 2022. For Apple, selling an iPhone in an emerging market represents more than just the sale of one device - it represents the chance to get consumers hooked on Apple devices and services over time. Customers who start with an iPhone might later add an Apple Watch or AirPods or sign up for subscription services.
Cook said he saw opportunities for Apple in India in services but said that average revenue per user (ARPU) - a metric known as ARPU in the subscription business - would take time to catch up to Apple's other markets. However, Apple is investing in India by opening retail stores, partnering with local manufacturers, and launching initiatives like the App Accelerator in Bengaluru.
Part of the reason that Apple has been able to gain market share in both emerging and developed markets is the emergence of a booming market for used iPhones. Sales of refurbished iPhones rose 16% in volume globally during 2022, with India leading the growth with a 19% jump, according to Counterpoint. iPhones accounted for 11% of secondary smartphone sales in India. This trend is particularly significant for Apple, as it enables the company to reach customers who may not be able to afford a brand-new iPhone.
In conclusion, Apple is betting on emerging markets such as India to provide growth opportunities for the company. With a youthful population, a growing middle class, and a relatively low market share for iPhones, India is seen as a key market for Apple. By investing in India through retail stores, partnerships with local manufacturers, and initiatives such as the App Accelerator, Apple is positioning itself to capture a larger share of the smartphone market in India. As the market for used iPhones continues to grow, Apple has the opportunity to reach even more customers in India and other emerging markets.

The BBC will split its operations in India into two separate companies, after raids by India’s tax authorities last year. The BBC announced that it was forming an independent, Indian-owned company called the Collective Newsroom, which would produce content for the corporation’s six regional channels which broadcast in Indian languages including Hindi and Punjabi. The BBC has applied to have a 26% stake in Collective Newsroom, but it will be largely independent from the broadcaster, in order to comply with strict laws brought in by the government of prime minister Narendra Modi which have targeted companies that receive funding from abroad. A smaller team of reporters and producers making content for the BBC’s English-language radio and television news channels as well as digital news for the website, all headquartered in the UK, will remain in India working directly for the broadcaster. The highly unusual overhaul of operations by the British public broadcaster comes after the BBC offices in India were raided in 2023 by India’s tax authorities in an operation that lasted several days. The raids, which the government called a “tax survey”, came after the BBC aired a documentary examining Modi’s role in deadly communal riots that took place when he was chief minister of the state of Gujarat. The Indian government condemned the documentary and responded by invoking emergency laws to ban any clips or footage of the documentary being shared, despite it only being aired in the UK. Not long after dozens of officials from India’s income tax department arrived at the BBC’s offices in Delhi and Mumbai. Some senior members of staff were questioned for three days. The government denied the raids were connected to the documentary, and were part of an investigation into the BBC violating India’s strict rules on foreign investment, accusing them of not fully disclosing profits. The BBC, which has had a presence in India since 1940, said it remained committed to producing content from India not only English but in its channels broadcasting in Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Tamil, and Telugu. Under the new structure, four former BBC employees have set up a private, Indian-owned company that will create content broadcast on the BBC’s six regional language channels as well as the Youtube channel. It will employ about 200 staff who previously directly worked for the BBC’s regional news channels in India. Collective Newsroom will also be able to make content for other Indian broadcasters. It is unclear if it will have to comply with the same standards of impartiality imposed on all BBC programming. Rupa Jha, chief executive of Collective Newsroom, described the new operation as an “independent news organisation that leads with the facts, works in the public interest and hears from diverse voices and perspectives.” Jha said they had a “a clear, ambitious mission to create the most credible, creative and courageous journalism”. Ninety employees will remain in India directly employed by the BBC in the UK and reporting to editors in London. Their content produced from India will be accessible to Indian audiences through services such as the BBC world news channel and BBC World Service radio but it will be published out of the UK headquarters.

INDIA Wants To Finish Sanatana, Push Country Back Into Slavery: PM
Tumblr media Tumblr media
PM Modi made the remarks at an event in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh.
NEW DELHI
New Delhi: In a scathing attack on the opposition INDIA alliance, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that it wants to finish Sanatana Dharma and push the country back into slavery for 1,000 years. The statement, which was made by the Prime Minister at a rally in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh on Thursday, is his first public reaction to the controversy over DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin's remarks on Sanatana Dharma. "They held a meeting in Mumbai recently, and I think they decided the policy and strategy of how to run the 'ghamandiya' alliance there. They have also decided on a hidden agenda. The strategy is to attack the culture of India. They have decided to attack the faith of Indians and finish the thoughts, values and traditions that have united the country for thousands of years," the PM said in Hindi. Drawing a link between India's heroes and the Sanatana culture, he said, "The 'ghamandiya' alliance has resolved to finish the Sanatana culture and traditions that inspired Devi Ahilyabai Holkar. It was the strength of Sanatana that the Rani of Jhansi, Lakshmibai, could challenge the British and say that she would not give up her Jhansi." PM Modi said Mahatma Gandhi considered Sanatana Dharma to be essential to his life. "He was inspired by Lord Ram all his life. His last words were 'hey Ram'," he added. The Prime Minister asserted that Swami Vivekanand and Lokmanya Tilak were also inspired by Sanatana and it was this culture that moved freedom fighters who were hanged by the British to say that they wanted to be born "in the lap of Bharat Ma" again.  "In the days to come, they will step up their attacks on us. Every Sanatani, every person who loves this country, those who love the people of this country; all of us have to stay vigilant. They want to finish Sanatana and push the country back into 1,000 years of slavery. But we have to stop such forces together. Through the strength of our organisation, we have to ensure that their strategy does not succeed," he said.  The PM's remarks came days after Udhayanidhi Stalin, who is a Tamil Nadu minister and a leader of INDIA bloc member DMK, spoke about "eradicating" Sanatana Dharma. While talking about caste differences, he had equated Sanatana Dharma with diseases like dengue and malaria. The BJP has used the remarks to attack both the Opposition alliance and the individual parties that are a part of it. While Udhayanidhi Stalin has stood by his statement and has found support from his father and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, allies like the Congress, AAP and Trinamool Congress have distanced themselves from it.  PM Modi laid the foundation stone for projects worth more than Rs 50,000 crore in Madhya Pradesh, including a petrochemical complex at the Bina Refinery of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited. He will also visit poll-bound Chhattisgarh today. INDIA Wants To Finish Sanatana, Push Country Back Into Slavery: PM Read the full article

3 Tips For Hiring and Retaining Drivers
3 Tips For Hiring and Retaining Drivers
Mumbai’s traffic congested roads need a skillful driver with abundant patience and the right driving skills. Finding someone responsible enough to drive your car in the city of Mumbai is a tough job. Hiring & retaining drivers is cumbersome for most employers.
Here are some tips for hiring & retaining drivers:
1. Do a background check:
Meeting an individual for a five-minute interview cannot determine the trust factor. It is essential for you to do a background check on the individual:
• Ask for identity proof like Aadhar card, PAN card or any other address proof
• Check with references to know their driving history
• Gauge temperament and level of patience
We can help you with the background checks also. Contact us for more details. You can also verify the driving license online here. Verification ensures better chances for hiring & retaining drivers.
2. Test driving skills:
A driver’s job in Mumbai has less to do with his speeding capabilities and more about keeping his cool in traffic. For example, a regular driver in Powai would need to keep patience and his temperament in check considering the choc-a-bloc traffic he has to deal with every day. Go on a test drive before you hire anyone. Also check during the drive his/her respect for the traffic rules, as you don’t want any issues with the traffic police when your family is being driven around. An important thing to check is parking skills and the ability to back the car safely.
3. Check knowledge of the vehicle:
The driver must have the basic knowledge of the vehicle he has to drive in case of a breakdown. Also, he should know how to routinely check on the oil, petrol/diesel consumption and keep the car in mint condition. You can also give some training using the mobile training available from Helper4U.in.
Now that we have the tips on hiring a driver, let’s also understand how to retain him.
a.Be human: Do not make him work for long hours every day, every day just because you pay him. Be reasonable. Driving is a tedious job, and drivers tend to get irritated, quickly and turn to rash driving after being stuck in a traffic jam for hours.
b.Reward: While monetary incentives go a long way, appreciation can also keep their morale high. You can, for example, appreciate good driving and safe driving.
c.Communicate: Communicating with the driver and understanding his needs and concerns are important. Just talking with them will make them realize that you are a caring employer. Additionally, if you can solve their concerns that would be great.
While the tips above have been written with an emphasis on hiring & retaining drivers in Mumbai, they can really apply to hire drivers anywhere in India. The above tips will definitely come in use when hiring drivers in Delhi, Bangalore, Calcutta, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Chennai or any other Indian city – especially those that are congested with traffic.
Finding drivers and other helpers to assist with your daily chores is easier now with Helper4U, an online database of helpers. Browse through our database to find a helper who suits your requirements.

Week 1 - Blog 1 - Raghu Rai
Born on 18 December 1942, a renowned name in the world of photography. Coming from the small village of Jhhang which is now located in Pakistan but before the events of the 1947 Partition it was part of British India. Now Raghu-Da is based in Delhi and is still an active photographer capturing stories across the world. Raghu-Da is famous for using the black and white style in his clicks, he believes that that black and white adds intensity to his pictures in comparison to coloured ones.
What inspires me? Raghu-Da showcases the cultural aspect of India, being an active photographer for over 5 decades he has captured one generation to another, his photos show how India’s culture adapted over those 5 decades.
Tumblr media
I was born in Gujrat, India. Lived there for 5 years before moving to New Zealand, therefore I get this very joyous feeling when I see India’s culture being represented through camera, because for me it narrates a story which I still am uncovering. Raghu-Da’s photography helps me capture those cultural aspects of India which I can’t experience and hope to do so one day.
The three images below spark my interest. Raghu-Da shows the simplicity of different types of people in India, on multiple stages these images can have multiple stories behind but the way I depict them is that there is a lot of drama. It shows how people are occupied as they are always on the move and only few people stand out that are busy in other activities such as reading and sleeping. What makes them more interesting is that the first image is taken in 1995 and the other two images are taken 10 years later. Is there no change? Have people in India not adapted to new lifestyle? What would the scene be now? Are people still the same?

Apple store getting started with it's long-term plan to dominate India's smartphone market
Tumblr media
Apple in India could grow to $20 billion in annual revenue by 2025, according to Wedbush analysts, who have an outperform rating and a price target of $205 on the stock. “This week is an important strategic step for Cupertino as Cook will cut red ribbons on India's first retail stores in Mumbai and New Delhi this week,” he explained. Analysts said the tech giant's retail strategy would focus on acquiring new customers, but would "significantly convert Samsung/Xiaomi/Vivo/Oppo customers into Apple iPhone customers over time" in an Android-heavy market. "While the market share in India today is less than 10%, we are confident that Apple, through its unmatched marketing and brand presence, will be able to transform India into an incremental growth catalyst as the anniversary iPhone hits the market on September 15." Is. The deadline comes," the analysts said. After the COVID lockdown in China, Apple is also looking at India from a production perspective when it comes to the iPhone. "As Foxconn/Apple puts more skin in the game on the iPhone production front within India, it will go with a larger retail presence within India, as seen this week as part of a China entry strategy. " decade," Ives continued. "Over the years, Apple has gone after the India market with some success as today India's revenue stands at $6 billion (less than 2% of global revenue) with minimal presence in the country. This dynamic will change as Apple now India is aggressively looking at both production and retail expansion in India in the coming years, which we believe will be a strategic poker move for Cupertino that could reach $20 billion in annual revenue by 2025 in India." WHAT IS THE GOVERNMENT SCHOOL FEES IN INDIA
Tumblr media
Many parents who were unable to pay their bills as a result of Covid-19 enrolled their children in public schools rather than private institutions. The fundamental reason for this is because private schools charge exorbitant prices. Many parents believe that school costs should not be thus high because classes are held online during the pandemic.
WHY ARE STUDENTS TRANSFERRING FROM PRIVATE TO PUBLIC SCHOOLS?
There has been an impact on children's education as a result of most schools being closed in lockdown 2020. Because schools across India were required to transition to online education, parents were required to purchase a laptop or a smartphone with unlimited bandwidth in addition to paying tuition fees to the school.
Another reason, in addition to the health repercussions of Covid-19, is that the epidemic resulted in millions of job losses and economic troubles. Due to a scarcity of jobs, migrant workers were compelled to return to their home countries, and thousands of employees in even large corporations lost their jobs.
As per research conducted by schools in Mumbai ,States where youngsters have been reported to be transferring to government schools. According to the Gujarat state education department, 2.82 lakh pupils transferred from private to government schools in the academic year 2021-22. Similarly, 1.58 lakh children in Delhi switched from private to public institutions.
Similarly, a Telangana official from the state's senior education department said that 1.25 lakh pupils from private schools have transferred to state government schools for the 2021-22 academic year, a 40 percent increase over the previous academic year that ended in 2021.
In Haryana, two lakh pupils were transferred from private schools to government schools. According to Madhya Pradesh's state education department, 1,29,126 pupils relocated between April and September of 2021.
During the epidemic, 1,85,480 pupils in Punjab switched from private to public schools. During Covid-19, enrolment in government schools in Uttar Pradesh increased by almost 5% at the elementary and higher primary levels.
WHAT ARE THE OPINIONS OF PARENTS AND SCHOOLS?
Another survey done by schools in Pune shows that Meena, the mother of a Class 3 student, recently transferred her son to a government school in Delhi because she couldn't pay the fees at his previous private school. "My son is not benefiting from online education. My spouse and I are not getting paid adequately because of the pandemic.
As a result, we chose a government school," Meena explains. Her son is also pleased with the behaviour of the teachers at the public school. He claimed that private school professors did not pay attention to the students.
Teachers in government schools, on the other hand, are responsible for the students. A Class 12 kid from Jaipur who had previously attended a private school was forced to transfer to a government institution after his parents lost their employment.
The admissions department of a Delhi school, on the other hand, claimed, "We have granted some discounts on outstanding school costs." It did not, however, assist parents, who now solely come for their children's TCs."
Covid-19 has grabbed the jobs of many parents, according to Anil Kaushik, head of the Progressive Private School's Association in Delhi, and this is why parents are sending their children to government institutions. Furthermore, with scientists predicting the possibility of a third wave, parents are wary about putting their children's health at risk.
THERE ARE OTHER CAUSES FOR THE CHANGE
Many parents believe that their children would receive a good education and access to certain amenities in government schools, which is another reason they are making the switch.
For example, the governments of Haryana and Rajasthan announced plans to provide free tablets and computers, bridging the digital divide that existed in India during the pandemic.
The government of Andhra Pradesh has created a flagship scheme named 'Jagnanna Ammavodi,' under which Rs.15000 is granted annually to the mothers of children in government schools in Classes 1 to 12.
Another important element to note is that government schools are strengthening their facilities in comparison to prior years, and teachers are enthusiastic about teaching the pupils.
STATE GOVERNMENTS FACE A DIFFICULT TASK
The difficulty now facing state governments is how to deal with the growing number of pupils in government schools while maintaining facilities and teaching standards to demonstrate to parents that sending their children to government schools was the right decision.
Students who have relocated as well as teachers from government schools will encounter additional hurdles in adjusting to their new surroundings.
Private schools, on the other hand, believe that this will have a negative influence on their budget and that their teachers may lose their employment as a result.
They also believe that such a large number of pupils across India are making this shift for a temporary reason: government school education standards aren't thought to be as high as those in private schools. As a result, government schools must now demonstrate their value by improving their teaching standards and facilities.
