i feel like i’ve thought of this before but just didn’t dwell on it too much...but the fact that in the cabin scene when will questioned mike about the way el was acting towards him and mike immediately brought up how they were talking about el’s loss should’ve been enough of a hint that the current state of their relationship (el ignoring mike) has something to do with el losing...

#idk if this is one of those “this isnt a new byler discovery but you’re acting like its a groundbreaking realization” moments #but yeah. like im not saying el blamed mike for her loss #but that the fact el opened up to mike about losing and intentionally distanced herself from him is soo telling #“he said that she wasnt ready and now shes starting to think that hes right” #and if i say that this means el likely started reflecting on mike’s words during the timeskip #and how in the end she knew he was just putting her on a pedestal #even though during the monologue she tried to make herself believe she was all of those things mike said #so that she could be the superhero that could move mountains and save the day #but after losing eventually came to the conclusion it was all bs...
