I did not have the mental capacity to process the animal crossing direct with live chat, there was literally so much (in a good way)

here are thoughts for my own use regarding plans with the items and updates and whatever else comes along

the calisthenics that allow motion controls are honestly a welcome addition bc holy fukc do i get sore just laying around for a bit, thisll force me to at least get some ROM in

gyroid designs are based. excited to see what i can do with them and just collect and appreciate them lol

love how they kind of rolled with the campsite but combined with the shopping district just like with new leaf and pocket camp. also love that i can get the color variations that were previously locked to stuff like airport color. i do wonder how redd's stock of art will work, like if it'll rotate daily or stay fixed for like a week

i've been thinking about trying to level or otherwise change my layout because it's so reliant on my terraforming that is too... manmade and uniform? like the way it is currently it appears as though it was all obviously designed by a person with edges and lines, and i want to make it more randomly and naturally formed, like the land just looked like that and i modified it to make it more accessible, and more like a sprawling town. this is kind of how im trying to approach what little terraforming i'm doing in littlewood. potentially needing to add a growing patch and some new fences further necessitates this

cute food ;~; for all ur picnic/cottagecore and snack scene setting needs

i definitely was one of the ppl that skipped kapp'n's songs when trying to farm the mystery islands in nl and uhhhhhh cant promise i'll change my behavior either lol

the concept of the roost is quite sweet even if it's simple. being able to invite amiibos does a little more for me than delivering coffee haha it's also just another nice place on the map for multiplayers to hang out

that first person mode is also gonna be really great for taking item photos! item photos and layouts and other stuff that gets obscured by the overhead frame or stuff in the camera's foreground

oh my god i was always really bad about the house visits in nl as well lol then again i didn't select all of my villagers back then, so i ended up just booting them out of my house if i didnt want company lol designing others' houses though is huge!! even if it's minimal i'd like to get rid of the fkcgin bass fish i gave to some of my villagers without knowing what the consequences were lmao

the shed and abd are also huge. i definitely keep stuff like a pipe to my house and a crafting table in my pocket at all times so this is huge, would be cool if we could set more than one of them as furniture outside

i wonder how much all these endgame upgrades will cost? like the storage expansion and the exterior upgrades. i havent been playing the turnip market recently so i might not have enough to get these upgrades as soon as they drop lmao TT_TT

also super excited about the different exteriors, finally i can make my house truly resemble an actual shrine after having the color scheme for it for an eternity

the ladders are gonna be HUGE as well if i dont level my layout too much. i have a lot of inconvenient cliffs and weeds that grow on unpaved surfaces, as well as stuff like bushes and my orchard on inaccessible ledges, so this'll help a bunch

speaking of weeds im also super psyched about the ordinances returning. i might do bell boom to regain my finances then just keep it on early bird forever to continue maintaining the weeds and flowers. my nl copy is like that and im always confident that i'll come back to a tidy village lmao also no more trash fished >:( i wonder if those who keep bell boom on their island for a while will become lucrative for those who want to gate visits just to sell?

also just in general loving happy home paradise as a standalone and knowing there's a little more replayablity that i dont remember existing in HHD? in which the villagers will change their request by a bit, so you can revisit, or just leave it alone i suppose. also the browsing feature! love getting inspo without having to scour too hard externally. i also remember photo mode or something being the main way to bring villagers to the places you designed, but i wonder if you can just allow them to stay there outside of photo mode if you so please...

also thinking about what the full-blown partitions and different shelving will add to the design potential :0

*breathing heavily* there is still much to think about im sure. anyway i feel like i need to take a design class to have a better hold on my thoughts of what im going to do with the update lol im excited regardless

still holding out hope that a tiny zelda update with the villagers and clothing is being withheld until botw2... and little things like mini-games and multiplayer islands are some things they could just hand to us without much fuss. take my money bro

actually u know what i wanna sum up all my thoughts sorry i know i said i was done but i dont know how to shut up

there will be spoilers and talks of leaks bc whatever at this point

this will only cover the content “issue” and not the multiplayer/multi user/alt players comments bc i havent done enough with it to really talk about it

those who haven’t been following the directs might not know that THERE’S GOING TO BE A LOT OF FUTURE UPDATES! 

Holidays (and other certain features as been shown in datamines) are being held back for (so far) free updates...now I personally believe this will follow in Splatoon’s footsteps (since both games have come out since new leaf) and unless we get something on the level of octo expansion or swsh’s dlc there probably wont be anything paid? but who knows nintendo is as ppl say “the masters of the left field”

Bunny Day’s update JUST released (i thought it was the day 1 patch but whoops that was online features) which gives us sEVERAL days for a holiday

Earth Day was confirmed to be next (with Leif, does this mean he’ll only be a holiday character now? WHO KNOWS i mean....leakers will know eventually probably)

**And to segway into leaks....Brewster is coming with the cafe and an art gallery, which from what I heard are the museum updates (probably where those stairs go to) Idk anything about if Redd was found in the files but ppl who have seen the leaks more than me lemme know otherwise maybe Redd will be back later doing something else DONNO

And that’s JUST what we probably know so FAR

Now you can talk about what things should have been in the base game and what should have been held off until updates 

But I think as most ppl have said this was all to discourage time traveling and to promote playing the game at a slower pace and having reason to check in on the game over time 

And yet...........so many people time traveled anyway!! (spoiler mentions if u care about that)

people are already at perfect towns to see k.k. slider people have already completely terraformed their islands, they have the biggest houses, and yet.........NOT EVERYTHING IS EVEN IN THE GAME....now you just have to continue to wait for future updates when you’ve already seen everything in the base game

i dont care about time traveling, i did it a TON in new leaf and im trying not to in NH but who knows....but at the same time....you’re just gonna be sitting and waiting now (which i mean animal crossing is supposed to be played at ur leisure anyway so shrugs)

and NH isnt like NL or any other AC game for that matter....it’s slowly updating (and maybe even slower haha hi pandemic ;; ) 

im sure theres plenty of other non related issues (like i mentioned above but i haven’t even made a second character yet) but i think it’s too early for the WHOLE picture on the game i mean its just about a week old now 

and like i said...if you compare to splatoon (WHICH SURE ITS A TOTALLY DIFFERENT GAME GENRE) look at the content it started with and look what it ended with

you dont have to like the game you dont have to like it over the older games and you dont have to like how they’re doing things but this is just what i think

the animal crossing we have right now....a week into the game after several months in delay will be even grander a year into it (or so i hope! haha....dont want this to poorly age)

even new leaf got the amiibo update which changed SO MUCH

and they didnt delay this game for nothing

🌴 have you picked a theme for your island?

I keep going back and forth between a small town natural vibe/a rundown over grown town or a complete fantasy town with princessy vibes. I think I’m gonna lean to the small town but try and have a fantasy section if the island is big enough or at least have one house fantasy themed. Tbh the main theme for my island is a town for my fav ocs to live in Grace, Charlie, Trash witch and her gf. I do want some of them to have their own houses but some of them I want to make them look like little shops on the inside.

🌸 which season are you most excited for?

Spring and summer i love flowers and the pink trees but the bits of summer nights looks so good and bring me back to being a kid catching lighting bugs. All of the seasons look good tho like Fall looks so cute and lively and winter looks so nice and comfy. I’m also looking forward to any new events we’ll have for each season.

🏠 do you have a plan for your house?

I’m boring and mostly just do living room, kitchen, bedroom, and study. I’m mostly waiting for new items and theme redesigns like I have an Alpine themed room and cant wait to see that remastered and see the princess set in hd.

🍒 which fruit do you want for your native fruit?

Anything but pears. I always got pears and I dont even like them, they are ugly, and just want something different. Either cherries or apples please give me a pop of color instead of green trees with green fruit

Yes @ gamestop and sad that the US got lame preorder bonuses but its not a big deal since I do just want the game.

🍄 what new feature are you looking forward to?

Terraforming seems like a lot of fun but idk how much ill actually do with it all of the new clothes and decorations im most excited for. Also Harv’s island with the photo mode seems like a lot of fun.

Any easier way to have people to visit your island, terraforming, also most of the news from PAX sees great
