if the earthworms in episode 3 are the weird fish in episode 7, i think it's interesting that david gives the explanatjon that the worms wanted to find an escape from Eskew, when the 3rd episode didnt provide that explanation. (i dont think ep 3 provided any explanation beyond the fact that it was an illness, except for something in the transcript where 1 character says she feels like she is floating)
