I just finished watching story of yanxi palace and there are so many things I wanna talk about that drama but Empress Fuca saying "Your Majesty, I became who l am now because I didn't persist in being myself,"

and Noble Imperial Consort Gao saying " I, in the eyes of my Gao clan, am just a pawn in the palace. In your eyes, I'm just a tool of the Gao clan to curry your favour. Now even I don't know who I am."

Both people so different yet so similar in so many ways.

#it's the first harem drama i've ever watched #and it'll probably be the last bc holy fuck i can't watch those women fight for one guy over and over again #ok i might watch the other drama with the same people the ruyi one? #but probably not any time soon bc i heard that one is even more angsty than this one and i barely survives this one lol #rav's watching: story of yanxi palace #i didn't learn until ep 42 or so that that was the drama name bc it was yingluo's palace (?) name lol #i just thought there was a mistranslation and yanxi palace was the emperor's yanxin hall or whatever it's called lmaooo #it was a wild ride from the beginning to the end but now i wanna watch minglan lol i miss her so so much #i'm not eloquent enough to expand on this one but just djdjdj every woman in the harem had to sacrifice a part of themselves #heck every character in the show including the emperor had to sacrifice a part of themselves to survive (or not in empress fuca's case) #and idk why that moved me so much but it did #ok bye i think i'm gonna go cry in a corner now
