Ahsoka had thought Maalraas to be extinct-- had heard stories of them when she was a child, had listened with fascination as Steela Gerrera entertained the Onderonian rebels around the campfire with horror stories of old.

And yet, here one stands, intent to make them prey.

The great beast’s hide is as white as snow save for the speckled gray of its armored scales. Seeing it now, it sticks out in the dark, rocky environment, and yet it seems to almost...slide out of focus, as if it’d had never been there at all....

So the legends are true.

Ahsoka redoubles her focus, until the serpent-necked, feline-esque monstrosity slips back into her vision, having circled them...drawing closer...fangs parted.

     “Dangerous. And tricky.”  A quick glance Mara’s way.  “Do you think we stand a chance at subduing it without killing it?”

It was, after all, a rare beast, others of its kind killed long ago, trying to survive on its own with only its natural skills at its disposal.
