are we posting OOTD thinkpieces yet? ok it's soooo fun and interesting how this MV is the first time I've ever seen branding and product placement in a DC video. Jiu is wearing Dior, Gahyeon's wearing WAIKEI brand Maltese Archive clothing, Siyeon and Sua are stunting on Mustangs and Kawasaki bikes (both of which are green BTW, both symbols of envy and also reminiscent of the green screen effect we keep seeing).
I don't think it's a coincidence that in the song about influencer culture and trying to convince everyone that you're rich/successful, DC is also flexing that they can access high end brands. It's a subtle nod to how this culture works in tandem with capitalism and brand sponsorships. Brands need influencers to promote their products as part of a successful lifestyle, and influencers need brands to support them so that they can exhibit that they're successful. It's a song about flexing and bragging, while also trying desperately to convince the listener that they want this life, which is exactly what keeps the influencer and the brand afloat (you want to be like me, and in order to be like me, you need to have these cars/clothes/brands). It's all about making the average person (ShaSha in the MV, a regular office worker) believe that they should pursue in unobtainable lifestyle (the crown). Even the messages from ymenehcra in the DreamChat claim that if you follow the crown, your life will be great, there are so many people already doing it.
And then of course, when ShaSha catches up to ymenehcra (archenemy) in the video, DC gives her the crown and it ostensibly like, kills her
