not much in the way of translation notes this time except that i kinda half-assed translating the names in the twitter screencap panel, partially because some of the kanji were just unreadable.

hypothesis: the cup that suddenly breaks in front of reigen is due to serizawa starting to flip out (reigen did specifically put him in charge of the cups) because he can suddenly sense the extremely strong psychic power of ???% somewhere nearby, and maybe serizawa can even tell it's mob (they have had a direct-emotion-exchange-thru-psychic-power moment in the past, so he would be well familiar with mob’s aura... though ???% might have a different psychic flavor than mob) and seri's gonna be like "(dark look) Something's wrong."

i have no idea what teru's trying to do but it would be slightly lame if this turns into one of those coaxing "[i know you're in there somewhere, this isn't you,] and then he snaps out of it" kind of cliche situations. then again, we can't just have another "teru seriously tries to stop mob and mob tosses him aside (out of the broccoli) bye teru" moment. so it should be some third scenario. but what? and what was in teru's bag. why did teru throw his bag. i'm pretty sure he did actively throw it, since we've seen him throw it once before (at musashi). teru, you've seen ???% exactly once before, at which time it destroyed every scrap of textile on your raw potato body. you couldn't have seriously thought your canvas schoolbag could stand up to that kind of power this time. teru's gonna be like "Kageyama-kun." (turn the page) "My house keys were in there."

prediction: teru pulls larval dimple out of his pocket and dangles him in front of ???% like "knock knock, is kageyama-kun home~~? someone's been wanting to talk to you~~~" and dimple is like "(helium voice bc he’s small) holy fuck" because he's never seen ???% before and he did not sign up for this

characters who need names the most urgently: inukawa.* takenaka. minegishi.

*inukawa spent 10 days on another planet and even then he signed his extraterrestrial space journal as just "inukawa." bitch, your parents call you that??

characters who need names with fair-to-middling urgency: hatori, shimazaki, and shibata. kijibayashi and saruta. all members of the scar cadre from the 7th branch. shou's mom. the kageyama parents. maaaybe ootsuki, higashio, and fukuda.

characters who probably don't need the rest of their names revealed: hanako and tarou from the first chapter. joseph the foreign mercenary (and his associates). gen-san from the 7th branch. the other scar cadres from other branches who showed up that one time. minegishi's flower shop boss. reigen’s mom.

characters i used to think really needed a name but by now it would honestly piss me off a little: the security guard.

can you imagine if ONE-sensei went and named THE OTHER security guard (the one who did not get possessed) but left Mr. Security Guard The Superstar of Various Official Art unnamed forever

can you believe there's been multiple tokugawa x kamuro doujins published even though tokugawa didn't have a canon given name until the 16th of june 2017? also, i've seen fanart in the past where the artist assigned tokugawa a given name of "hikaru," and that begs a question: did ONE-sensei get wind of that fanart in particular and think "that name works," OR is there a cultural association in japan between the family name "tokugawa" and the given name "hikaru" such that the fanartist and ONE-sensei would separately arrive at the same name? or is it just a coincidence? or is the joke that "hikaru" (meaning "light" or "to shine") being his name would contrast with his dark demeanor/reputation, and both ONE-sensei and the fanartist followed that logic to make the same joke?

when mob wakes up from this ???% event, how will he have anything but another 100% sadness event? he can only avoid that by somehow proving that this time, he really HAS changed. [[imagine i’ve inserted a screenshot of early mob saying “i have changed.”]] we’ve seen him change plenty since ???% showed up in like chapter 16 [[NOTE: idr if it’s 16 and i don’t feel like checking rn but it’s around there]]. mob has certainly grown a lot. but in this one aspect... it’s hard to say. is ???% even in any way tied to mob’s emotional/mental growth? CAN he change?
