honestly my biggest hurdle when it comes to gamedev nowadays is sticking to a single engine. i know bits and pieces of godot, unity, renpy, twine and even godsforsaken unreal, but do i know enough to make good stuff in any of them? no

#godot is fun to use but it has the same problem as other general purpose engines like unity or unreal: most tutorials and resources online+ #are not targeted to vn/if devs so usually you are left scrambling #or having to pay $80-100 for a bunch of plugins #nvm unitys naninovel is like $135 #which is a goddamn arm and a leg when you are in the global south #i really like renpy but going beyond the standard vn there is so freaking painful #and twine is.... twine. i guess. #vndev #gamedev #ren.txt
