I've finally finished the first set! It's the same kids again tho, lol. But next time will be never before seen characters! So I wanted to get everyone drawn in the Omniverse style so I could visualize it all properly and it also made for a good opportunity to tweak designs as needed. They're all heavily referenced from official art so I could get it perfect and it made for great practice too! Of course I added some personal touches to the art style too cuz if I didn't it would have bothered me too much, lol.

Anyway, below the cut are finally proper profiles for all the kids and some additional info as well!

M'kay, so before we get started on the kids' bios, it's important to specify this is an alternate universe. And I don't mean it's an AU of the Prime Dimension. This is quite literally another universe within the omniverse. It's a mostly untouched one that even Paradox, Eon, and Maltruant have never been to and therefore a lot of things are different while a lot of things are still the same tho. It's unofficially called the Feniverse cuz Fen is the main character, but it does have a more official name. I'm just, uh… not aware of what that name is yet, lol!

Anyway, the Ben in this dimension branches off from the development of Prime Ben. Anybody remember the fact that the very first Ben 10K episode said Ben became the way he did in the future cuz he killed Vilgax by ripping him to pieces? Yep! That's what this Ben did too! But obviously he doesn't end up exactly like that Ben 10K. But so this dimension's Ben is therefore officially labelled Slayer Ben since some people refer to him as 'The Vilgax Slayer'. And that experience did definitely screw him up pretty bad, which is why he's so different from both Prime and 10K.

So from left to right:

Name: Fenrick Fih Rook-Tennyson

Age: 13

Height: 5'1

Voice: Todd Haberkorn

Bio: Fen is Ben and Rook's son. He has always been known for being quiet, surprisingly wise for his age, and quite the troublemaker. In actuality, only two of these things are true. Fen is more calm than he seems and as a young child he wasn't much of a talker, giving people the perception that he's quiet. Unfortunately, Fen also has many great ideas that end up badly. However, his ideas always come from the desire to help someone or solve a problem, but he always gets caught when his plans fall apart, making it look like he causes trouble. Some people even accuse him of trouble he didn't start, not helping his reputation. And as the son of Ben 10 of all people, he tends to be held to higher expectations. His wisdom never ceases to amaze people either. Even Ben and Rook get surprised at the wisdom he recites, wondering where exactly he learned it all. Due to that, he tends to put up a fight whenever himself or someone else gets wronged. He especially defends his friends and fellow alien kids in town. Although his only true friends seem to consist of his childhood friend, Millie, and his cousin, Sven.

At the age of 13, Fen discovered his ability to transform into a couple dozen of Ben's aliens. He quickly aspired to become a hero like his parents, much to Ben's disapproval, who worries about his safety. Despite that, Fen wants to form a hero trio with Sven and Millie and become the next generation of heroes in the galaxy.

Developer's Notes:

Fen's almost always been the same since I first created him, with just a few design and character tweaks done to him. He used to have a talent for jewelry making but that was switched out for him being wise for his age. He was also a bit more generic as far as the upbeat and reckless young male protagonist with famous parents archetype goes, but he's been adjusted enough that he now stands out from that archetype. Or, at least I hope, lol. Also, funny thing to note, Fenrick is not a real name! The closest name there is is Fenwick and iirc, that's a last name! I considered changing it to Fenwick or even Fenick but Fenrick is too special to me. His, uh, unfortunate name even has an impact in-universe with him being embarrassed by it and some using it to make fun of him. Also in-universe, I chalk it up to Ben having a dumb moment by misremembering the name Fenwick and Rook not knowing any better to catch Ben's mistake. Also, if you think his hair style is stupid, good. That's the point. He wanted it like that when he was seven and Ben and Rook were like 'sure' and it's been like that ever since.

Name: Millicent

Age: 13

Height: 5'0

Voice: Jennifer Paz

Bio: Millie is Ester's daughter. Her biological father is a human who decided he didn't want to be a father and Antonio soon stepped up to fill the father role when he and Ester got married. She has been friends with Fen and Sven since they were all babies. Millie is the level-headed one of the group and has been noted as being oddly emotionless. Her tone of voice is almost always flat and she usually keeps a straight face when not looking nervous. She never intends to be rude, but she will bluntly say whatever comes to her mind to her peers. At the same time, she can be nervous about making bold decisions and hates being a part of any decision making. She either refuses to do anything, or apologizes profusely for making a decision even when nothing bad happens.

Due to being more human than Kraaho, Millie is perfectly capable of handling the temperatures of Bellwood. However, she is still a bit sensitive to cold temperatures and needs to bundle up more than others during the winter. She sadly cannot handle the heat in the Hot Spot for very long either. Much to Millie's dismay, she was not born with the Kraaho's stretching ability. No one can figure out why, but it's simply something she can't do. As a result, she considers herself a normal human and has resigned herself to the fact that 'normal' is simply all she will ever be. Despite this, she has taken up quite a big secret that contradicts her decision and expresses who she wishes she really was.

Developer's Notes:

Millie only ever had one design change with her outfit and slight adjustment to the way her hair works and she's been the same ever since. Since the beginning she was always calm and stoic and I've always worried that she doesn't have much of a presence or purpose, but now I feel like she plays off Fen and Sven well enough that she stands out thanks to them. I've always flipped back and forth between Fen and/or Millie having a crush on each other, but I've finally settled on them both just seeing each other as near and dear loyal friends. It ultimately works out better that way and doesn't cause conflict with Millie's personal story or Fen's real love interest(and the one other character with feelings for him). Her name also used to be Mina, but since I've now taken that as one of my own names, it felt really awkward to keep her as that. I used to have a habit of naming characters with names I wanted before realizing I could change my name in the future, lol.

Name: Sven Elijah Levin

Age: 12

Height: 4'8

Voice: Wally Wingert

Bio: Sven is Gwendolyn and Kevin's son and Jenny's older brother. Sven is a rather unfortunate boy. He is constantly terrified of everything to the point of running millions of 'bad ends' through his head. He can barely talk most of the time without being a stuttering mess and always thinks he's going to be in trouble for anything and everything he does. Everyone is certain he either has severe anxiety or paranoia, or likely both. Perhaps even more. Who knows. Sven tends to cling to his cousin, Fen, who he looks to for guidance and advice, most of which isn't anything Sven should actually be following. Because he is a grade below Fen and Millie, he's often left alone to deal with problems in his own classes, or really just panic about them. He does, however, have a close relationship with Zed and likes to be the one to take her out on walks in the afternoon. And not many people know it, but he's actually a pretty decent artist.

Even though he is an Osmosian thanks to being Kevin's son, no one knows what ability he may have. It doesn't really matter though, since he wants to stay out of any potential trouble that having powers could bring him. Regardless of that, he has an interest in magic thanks to Gwendolyn's expertise in it. He even sneaks peeks at her spellbook and the strange bag she keeps in her office that he can hear a voice coming from at night.

Developer's Notes:

Now Sven is a character whose personality has always been pretty much the same while his design was never consistent until reaching his current one. He was originally very anime looking and in a gaudy orange outfit that I regret even thinking about, lol. He looks much better in neutral colors. I guess there's not much to say on him though, which makes me worry he's a tad unremarkable, but perhaps it's just since I'm leaving out the things about him that are better left discovering on your own… if I ever get to finishing that fic that is… ahaha.

Name: Saki Boulais

Age: 13

Height: 4'11

Voice: Stephanie Sheh

Bio: Julie and Hervé's daughter, one of the more popular girls in school, and the most deceptive in town. Saki has gone her whole life, since the first time she told a successful lie, tricking people into thinking she's a completely innocent little girl who's never done anything wrong. This allows her to get away with anything she wants, and she especially enjoys getting Fen in trouble when they butt heads with each other. The two have even been enemies since they first met at age three and Saki pulled Fen's tail, he pulled her hair in return, and she managed to get away with claiming he started it. Their feud has even turned into murderous intent, which Saki refuses to hide.

On a lighter note, Saki always has the company of her two best friends, Rachel and Diane, who will gladly join her in her tormenting of others. Saki even greatly admires the most popular girl in school, Fiona, and whoever the mysterious new hero girl, Miracle-M, is.

Developer's Notes:

Yes, Saki was always meant to be That Bitch in the cast. I feel like it's unrealistic to have all next gen kids be friends and get along with each other. It's perfectly believable to have some of them dislike, and in Saki and Fen's case, even hate each other. It makes it more interesting with them being Ben and Julie's kids respectively too. Adds good drama, lol. But anyway, really the only thing that's changed about Saki is her hairstyle and some other slight design tweaks like her necklace, shorts, and shoes. I also just recently changed her colors from purple and blue-ish purple to just blue so that isn't not all three girls here wearing purple. She also looks better in blue and it contrasts nicely with Julie's pink imo. I suppose I do worry about her being disliked since she's so antagonistic and with her being Julie's daughter, I really hope her character doesn't send the wrong message since I genuinely love Julie a lot. It really is just For The Drama Of It All. I think it's really fun to watch her go into full 'Murder Fen' mode too. Very fun to write, lol. Oh right, also Boulais is my headcanon last name for Herve. I just wanted her to have his last name but he doesn’t have one! So I had to pick one for myself.

Name: Jennifer Elizabeth Levin

Age: 10

Height: 4'6

Voice: Brina Palencia

Bio: Jenny is Gwendolyn and Kevin's daughter and Sven's younger sister. She is surprisingly serious and stoic for her age. She gets annoyed by her family's constant 'abnormal' status and wishes everyone could just act normal with no weird events happening. She throws herself into school work as a means to keep herself out of it and tries to keep her personal life at school with friends far away from her life involving family. She seems to have a quick temper, but really she just acts that way to get what she wants since she knows it works and in the hopes that she can use it as an opportunity to vent her frustrations. She hates getting involved in her brother and cousin Fen's antics, but sometimes her no nonsense attitude is needed to resolve a situation. She has a strange obsession with eating bread, finding it the perfect food and almost always exclusively eating something with bread involved. Gwendolyn definitely worries about her diet, but Kevin finds it harmless.

She may not have the spark like her mother, but she doesn't dare confess that her status as an Osmosian became very apparent just recently. As a result, she has a stash of broken objects stuffed under her bed and cracked floorboards that she covers with her rug.

Developer's Notes:

Jenny went through a decent redesign. Character wise I feel like I still don't have some things etched in stone for her as I still haven't gotten to the point in my writing where she does anything of interest. She could honestly probably end up pretty different from her bio here if I'm not careful, lol. The characters write themselves as they say after all! But I definitely prefer the newer Jenny compared to the previous way I envisioned her character, which was designed to fit a character type I actually hate just cuz I felt it worked for her. Thankfully I can avoid it tho with the big overhaul I did after returning to these characters. And I do like Jenny cuz I like writing her dialogue, but it still feels like her character is still that of a person I would not wanna be around, lol.

Name: Bevel Tennyson

Age: 20

Height: 5'9

Voice: Dee Bradley Baker/Yuri Lowenthal

Bio: Bevel is the youngest of the Big Chill offspring born twenty years ago. They were in an accident involving a passing spaceship on their way to Kylmyys that damaged their right wing to the point they could no longer fly. It's suspected the wing has severe nerve damage, making Bevel unable to unfold it as well. Their siblings helped them make it the rest of the way to Kylmyys, but over the years, the dangers of Kylmyys left the siblings with only Bevel and the eldest two, Emboss and Curve, remaining. As they got older, Bevel could never forget their only memory of their parent, who the others didn't remember. A desire to reunite with their parent caused Bevel to make the lone decision to explore the universe in search of their parent.

Bevel is a very cheerful and sweet person, but their secluded upbringing and lack of knowledge about Earth makes them very naive. They will believe anything they are told and have a very black and white moral view due to not understanding nuance. They have strange habits that appear unnatural in their attempt to act human and have an intense craving for Earth candy. They have also taken up being a mercenary to get by after leaving Kylmyys and once they join the Tennyson family, Rook suggests they use the skills they've picked up to become a Plumber, but that's an idea Ben isn't fully onboard with.

Developer's Notes:

Right off the bat I want to shout out that his old human design used to keep the Necrofriggian antennae. I still think it's a cute design even tho it wasn't canon compliant with the antennae. The only things that have changed about him too are just that, his hair style, and his shoes. Plus I stuck bunny ears on his hoodie recently as a shout out to those antennae he used to have. Otherwise he's always been the same. And I guess I haven't explained why he has a human form, but that's also an answer to discover later. I didn't draw his Necrofriggian form tho cuz we should all know what the UAF design looks like(and yes I am screwing with art style difference bullshit cuz OV Big Chill is not real and you cannot convince me otherwise). And I also just realized his pronouns aren't matching up in this section so I should add his official pronouns are he/they, but characters refer to him by he/him and narration uses they/them. He is still a Necrofriggian and therefore doesn't do the whole gender thing after all. Which is why he's fine with anyone viewing him as whatever they want to too. He just goes with it. That's also why he doesn't get what's weird about him calling Ben 'Mother' after he learned the word, lol.

BoomLord's weird adventure

Chapter 29 drunk dragon lands

Boom Lord felt like he was about to throw up. About 30 or so minutes ago spike had suggested that him flying them there would be the quickest way. Spike was indeed right that it was the quickest way however it was still a bit much for the now slightly drunk Omniverse traveler. Spike was carrying him under his arm easily despite definitely being slightly larger than your average stallion. Boom was now mentally doing exercises in order to keep his emotions and more importantly his head in check 'okay we can add enhanced strength along with height and flying speed to Spike's new form' doing us would only delay the inevitable. Boom was never a heavy drinker. Hell before he started multiverse traveling he never even touched alcohol. But since then he's noticed that he's had varying effects likely due to side effects of being a Omniverse traveler. During his travels he's drunk with the best in the worst of them and it usually ends with him getting into a fist fight if not Total war. Still he only had a single glass so what could be the worst thing that could happen. Well he was about to find out as the landscape started to change. Smell of sulfur was now in the air and the landscape had changed from Green Grass to dark black rocks. As he looked ahead he could make it the outlines of large mountains and volcanoes. 'looks like the perfect environment for a fire breathing lizard to me' he then noticed what looked like a gathering below them as spikes slowed down. Below them standing in a circle on a rather flat piece of Earth, likely molded for important meetings were several dragons. The dragons in the area varied in size although none of them seem to be even close to spikes heights. Well except for a particularly nasty looking red dragon with orange scales. Even from this height he could make out a disappointed look on his face along with a rather poor expression across his mouth. 'I think that one's garble I uh can't really remember I think he was the asshole dragon in the show.' the rest of the dragons were mostly green Gray or lighter reds than the dark red of garble. In the center of them was a tall blue dragon with a far more feminine stature. On top of that she was the only one wearing armor and in her hand was the very staff with the bright red Jewel. 'well well well I would bet shellings to bullets that's ember.' above him Spike was smiling.... Actually he was smirking because it had just occurred to the Dragon that she can't call him short anymore. In fact now he could call her short.

2 Spike quickly landed in front of ember maybe two or three feet away. The surrounding dragons were now visibly confused looking around them. Specifically around their feet as if trying to find something that wasn't there. After a while the dragons turned their attention to the two individuals. Boom got plenty of odd looks likely due to his eyes and peculiar cutie mark. 'I suppose they don't get a lot of ponies with TNT on their asses' boom thought to himself. And he did have a point most ponies cutie marks were usually some sort of talent. Balloons signaled pinkie pie's laughter while a star represented twilight's magic. With that said a TNT was probably a good fit for him considering he has a knack for destruction. Then the attentions went over to spike. It was now giving a more hidden smile trying to look as serious as he could without enjoying this. Garble was the first one to put the pieces together. His face was priceless with narrowed eyes and a jaw dropped so low it risked coming off. The rest of the Dragon seemed pretty stumped no one was getting what happened. Finally Ember had enough."who are you two where is Spike! I demand answers or you risk facing the wrath of the Dragon Lord!"she was clearly deepening her voice lately speaking with a matter of fact tone. Boom did not like that not even slightly as he felt a twinge of anger in the back of his head. He would have to fight this otherwise they might have to leave bloody and he'd rather not do that to spike since he had been rather kind. Boom always did have a soft spot for dragons when he was a kid so maybe some of that was rubbing off enough to keep him in check. Spike at this point was grasping his maw trying to hold back his laughter."heh don't recognize your old friend ember. I had a little bit of a growth spurt."Spike delivered that line with a playful wink. Boom had never been more proud of a cheesy line. As for Ember her eyes widened nearly mimicking Garbles expression."s-spike your uh .... I'm sorry what the actual fuck happened to you why are you all huge and kinda just wow."there was also now a visible blush on her face."oh you know magical shenanigans. Guess I had a growth spurt."boom was secretly very proud of that line despite the cheazeyness."well Spike cutting to the chase I'm going to have to decline your request however as your friend I am willing to compromise by helping you find a jewel further to the South. It it may be a bit dangerous for your pony friend so he should stay here."and of course most would probably understand this not boom in fact boom was not only intoxicated, but he also was a Omniverse lightweight drunk which made him very aggressive."excuse me I don't take very lightly to people implying I'm weak! And we're not waiting several days we don't have the time for that we need that staff and while I do not intend to hurt you for it we are not leaving without it!"ember stared down the pony."excuse me I am a dragon lord and I will not be talked to with such disrespect from some pony I don't even know! The only reason you're still standing is because you're a friend of Spike now."if boom had been a normal person of any world he probably would have backed off from the pissed off Blue Dragon. Boom however was not your average person he was a super dumbass.And as his role as a true Florida man he must respond to his calling...Being a crazy asshole."how about this we duel for it! Winner gets the staff I'll even let your freinds join!you oversized, grumpy, shit stain, annoying lizard! Lets fucking gooooo!" And with that she stared him down."challenge accepted you idiot!"

the sight of the very tall comparitively to what they're used to, anyway Ink sort with purple wings, gives them pause. very little, admittedly, and more surprise than anything, before they offer a smile to him too.

"Are you the Ink whose honor Bells was ready to defend?"

Jabber smiles, trying to keep his mate from just combusting with excitement. "I'm his mate." "Gold." Gold peeks out. "Beryl." Beryl smiles, hugging him. "We're Mercury's brothers."

A huff, and he curls his wings around, fiddling with the circlet on his head. "Second of all, the Omniverse is already stupid and crazy, so more extended family might as well happen." He watches Blue for a moment, narrowing his eyes. "...are you okay?"

JusticeMom09/27/2020 {Dream looks amused pulling Ink closer to himself kissing his jaw. he lets the group talk before he looks to Blue... his aura suddenly is there. something warm and comforting like being rapped up in a blanket right out of the dryer. He was able to actually pick and choose whom his aura touches. Ben Tennyson′s Best Traits

Just to preface, I think a lot of us in this fandom can agree that when a character acts or is written in a displeasing manner, we tend to dislike them. We may even go so far as to say that we hate these kinds of characters. We end up holding grudges against those who have done us wrong or caused harm to someone we love. Arguably, that is just human nature, even if these grudges can often be considered petty. I will be the first to admit that I am guilty of this.

This is why I find it interesting that the character which has had these unfair circumstances be written into his story or has been bullied by the largely disliked characters in the series does not even do this himself. Quite the opposite, he seems to be much more cooperative, forgiving, and understanding in many cases where I, personally, know that I would not be same way.

It is even credited by the writers that one of Ben’s best traits is his “good heart.”

I’d like to take a moment to commemorate Ben’s best traits, because, as you may know, his “flaws” are a hot debate in this fandom.

Perhaps this is because flaws are something each of us have and therefore we can relate to imperfections and shortcomings.

However, if that is the case, what is the point of criminalizing someone for minor imperfections when the things he is praised for greatly outshine those subjective “flaws”?

These traits are actually argued by some to be inconsistent throughout the series run, typically by those who have a distaste for Omniverse, and interestingly even by some who actually enjoy Omniverse. However, going through the following examples taken from each series in order, it seems that these traits actually are consistent and allow for continuity and even visible character development.

One of the most obvious examples where we can see these traits is Ben’s friendship with Kevin. From the beginning, in the original series episode “Kevin 11″, even after Kevin had betrayed him for the first time, Ben is still shown to be willing to give him another chance.

Kevin : “I guess I went too wild with power. I don’t have anyone else like you to help me.”

Ben: “We can still be partners. We’d just be kicking butts for good instead of for ourselves. You could hang with us.”

According to this episode, Kevin had been abandoned by his parents and he clearly had some untreated mental conditions which clouded his judgement. However, he was still capable of understanding other people’s intentions and, probably due to the life he was living at the time, had still chosen to turn to violence. He disregarded the safety of others as a cause of a petty grudge on those who had apparently done him wrong, or caused him harm, and this only dug him an even deeper grave.

As Kevin said, at the time, there wasn't anyone besides Ben who was willing to try to look past his destructive and damaged way of being in the interest of helping him heal. In spite of this, some have argued that because the Tennysons allowed Kevin to just get away at the end, it makes them responsible for the way Kevin’s life had turned out throughout the next five years.

However, if Ben was to be seen as responsible for getting them kicked out of the hotel for the stunt he pulled in the beginning of the episode, should Kevin not be seen as responsible for his own actions here as well?

Ben had clearly stated that he was willing to help him, and Kevin did not take that chance. He chose to run away instead, perhaps because that was all he knew how to do at that point in his life.

The Omniverse flashbacks which took place between the original series and Alien Force revealed that Kevin was willing to trust others if they had some common ground, namely Proctor Servantis.

The only difference is that Ben was genuine while Servantis was manipulative.

Servantis made Kevin believe that the destruction he could cause would serve a greater purpose, making him part of something bigger than himself. He was no longer alone, and no longer fighting for just himself because he was made to believe that Ben was the problem, and he was the solution.

“Crazy?! I got friends in high places now, brat! I'm the hero, you’re the problem! And all this time you let me think I was the problem, when it’s you! All of you! You’re the problem! And I'm the solution!” - Hybrid Kevin, Omniverse: “Weapon XI: Part 2″

In spite of all of this, come “Ben 10 returns”, Ben puts all of their past differences aside and offers another chance at redemption. Which, as we all know, Kevin takes for real this time.

Prior to “Alone Together”, Ben and his team had been fighting the Highbreed and DNAliens, trying to put an end to their operation.

The Highbreed were literally the cause of so much trauma that the team endured within the first two seasons. The Highbreed are the reason Max had “sacrificed” himself back in “Max Out”, and because “Alone Together” happens before “Voided”, where Max is revealed to still be alive, Ben is still under the impression that Max is gone and he is still grieving.

In spite of this, “Alone Together” shows Ben trying to cooperate with a Highbreed, and even helping him survive, rather than being vengeful and holding a grudge against one of those who had arguably contributed to his own suffering.

If Ben had not taken the initiative to try to find a common ground with Reiny so that they could survive their temporary stay on Turrawuste, and continued to attempt to persuade him to change his ideology, do you really think that Reiny would have done so on his own?

All of Ben’s efforts shown here are the reason the Highbreed war could be stopped in “War of the Worlds.”

Imagine what would have happened if the Omnitrix reconstructed the DNA of all Highbreeds, and Reiny didn’t show up to show them that they can still live, even without the “genetic consistency that had been a pillar of their cultural identity for so long.” They seemed to whole-heartedly believe that immediately committing mass suicide would be their only remaining “honorable” move.

The War would have ended with mass suicide of an entire species had Ben’s kindness and cooperation not impacted Reiny’s world view.

Reinrassig III: “No. There is another way. This human once cured an ailment of mine by changing my DNA. At first, I thought the impurity a curse, but I have since learned otherwise. Fellow Highbreed, we can live.”

The Highbreed were very stuck in their ways due to the beliefs that were deeply ingrained in their culture and mentality. As we know from the real world, societal values change over time as we progress and learn from our history. Because of Ben’s willingness to communicate and cooperate with Reiny in “Alone Together”, everyone was able to move forward in harmony with a new positive outlook on their place in the universe, promoting positive change in societies - something that fighting to the death in search of revenge would not achieve.

Speaking of people who are stuck in their ways, “Reflected Glory” brings back Cash and JT, Ben’s childhood bullies.

“Fame” seemed to attempt to redeem them somewhat, however, their actions in this episode take away from that significantly.

If you take into account all the events that make up Ben’s life throughout Alien Force, and all the burdens he had to carry at the age of fifteen in secret, perhaps you’ll realize that having his identity revealed in Ultimate Alien culminating in what is seemingly a loss of trust by those who he was trying so hard to protect in the first place can be quite damaging.

Where all his efforts for nothing?

Had he risked his life all this time only for members of his own species to disown him?

It wasn't even only immature kids at school, it was grown adults like Will Harangue who publicly spoke ill of a teenage boy they didn't even know personally. And, as you may know, there are some people in this world who will blindly agree with everything they hear, so it wouldn't be surprising if there were other adult viewers of the Harangue Nation who agreed with Harangue’s views.

“Ben Tennyson: threat or menace? Call in with your vote.”

And, if they agree with his hypocritical views, who’s to say they wouldn't also agree with his rather destructive, threatening, and menacing actions?

Attempting to kill a teenager, for instance, as shown in Ultimate Alien’s “Video Games”, and, not taking into account the fact that, if Ben was really a threat, actual law enforcement would get involved rather than working alongside him.

The scene where Ben walks into the school hallway, with all these judging gazes turned his way is very powerful because, knowing Cash and JT, they absolutely could have taken the chance to humiliate him again since Ben had put them in their place in Alien Force’s “The Gauntlet.”

Instead, he got a much deserved round of applause from everyone, including and initiated by Cash and JT.

The only thing that strikes me as problematic about this is the implication that all these immature teenagers have the power to criticise him and make him feel inadequate. They get to choose whether he deserves to be praised or vilified without truly knowing what he had just gone through.

Why should the opinions of people like Cash, JT, or Harangue even matter?

Does Ben not deserve to feel proud of himself regardless of what they think of him?

Do they realize that they are all even still there to make him feel inadequate only because he had saved everyone from being destroyed by the Highbreed through all his work and dedication throughout the first two seasons of Alien Force?

Do they realize the severity of what could have happened?

The DNA aliens were actually innocent people who were abducted. It could have been any of the kids in that hallway. It may be less likely, but it could have even been Harangue himself.

Imagine the mass hysteria of so many missing persons cases across the US, and then realizing it had all been due to aliens that Ben had, not only stopped, but managed to make peace with in the end.

That is why, in “Reflected Glory”, Cash and JT taking advantage of Ben’s fame and wanting to be seen as equal to him, without doing any of the work or enduring practically none of what he has, is disgusting.

It is disgusting because they don’t seem to realize why Ben is famous.

The events that I have just outlined unfold in a sort of butterfly effect. Ben’s actions in the events of one episode have a significant impact on the outcome of a later part of the story.

For example, Ben consistently giving Kevin another chance to redeem himself eventually leads into Kevin actually taking him up on the offer and developing a healthy, productive relationship with Ben and Gwen where he can heal. Or, Ben’s small acts of kindness impacting one Highbreed’s ideology so much that it literally saved the world and changed the values of the entire Highbreed population.

Cash and JT’s excuse is that they feel like “nobodies” due to their own bad choices. I can understand wanting to do good due to being “inspired” by Ben’s heroic deeds, but that is another thing entirely that isn’t even at play in their thought process here.

They thought that Ben owed them for their little round of applause.

Can you really equate Cash and JT swallowing their pride to give Ben the credit he deserved, and Ben risking his life in secret for the majority of Alien Force in order to make sure the entire universe is saved, including people he might not like, such as Cash and JT?

They have the audacity to want to be called heroes, and think that capitalizing on someone else’s past trauma will grant them that title. Cash even partially lied about the “real” reason he needed the money this production will bring in, claiming it was for mother’s operation, rather than just a nose job, knowingly taking advantage of Ben’s good heart and cooperative nature.

As Max put it, “being a hero isn’t about other people knowing you did something good, it’s about you knowing you did something good.”

Because they didn't seem to gain anything from taking Ben’s side at school, it wasn't enough for them to just know they've done something good. Instead, they've chosen to pretend they've done something good by pretending to be the “brains behind Ben 10.” And that in itself would be considered doing something bad instead.

Realistically, Ben didn't have any obligation to allow them to pull him into a gigantic lie for no one’s benefit but their own, but, as shown in the previous examples, Ben’s empathy for those who have taken the wrong path in life seems to be the reason for him allowing them to continue doing this.

However, Cash, JT, and their camera man sticking around, unarmed, while Ben, Gwen, and Kevin are dealing with dangerous criminals just goes to show how negligent Cash and JT are about the safety of others. It can make it harder for Ben to do his job properly if they get in the way, making them a liability. This is exactly what happens once the fight with Psyphon begins. Which, by the way, was actually caused by Psyphon having caught wind of them claiming be the “brains behind Ben 10″ anyway.

A similar thing occurs in Omniverse’s “Collect This”, where others, namely Professor Hokestar, Simian, and Deefus Veeblepister, are trying to capitalize on, what is not only Ben’s achievements, but his entire life at this point.

Can you imagine being a sixteen year old superhero, technically, a full time space cop, your work comparable to that of a soldier, who we know serve their country and risk their life protecting others everyday...and without your knowledge, there are others out there who are just using the concept of your everyday wins and loses to make a profit off of?

Ben is practically dealing with a case of identity theft.

He had every right to be bothered by the idea of someone else taking advantage of his name again. Not only because this has happened to him before, specifically in Ultimate Alien’s “Double or Nothing”, but because along with his name comes all that he has accomplished and endured in order to make that name so famous. To make a profit of it, and possibly make him look bad in the process, without his consent, is an issue.

Instead of focusing on how much this probably aggravated him, he handled the situation in the episode in a reasonable, intelligent, and mature way, showing his character development and how reliable he is. The Earth was about to be “collected”, and Ben put aside all the things that bothered him personally about the situation to prioritize saving the world again, and on a time limit too!

Deefus Veeblepister: “Look kid, I know who you are. I didn’t make ‘Ben 10′ a household name just so your little ‘hero thing’ can steal my thunder.”

“I suggest you make a new name for yourself. It’s confusing!”

Deefus had claimed to have made “Ben 10″ a household name. Meaning, the name is apparently only as famous as it is now due to the TV show produced by Hokestar. However, this is blatantly false, unfair, and offensive.

Just to reiterate what we should all know by now, “Ben 10″ technically became a household name after Ben made peace with the Highbreed in Alien Force’s “War of the Worlds”, news of this success spreading throughout the galaxy, and inspiring beings from other planets to contact Ben personally and award him a medal or ask for help with their own planetary crisis, such as in the Alien Force episodes “Vengeance of Vilgax” and “Simple”, respectively. And, it goes without saying that Ben’s fame spread to Earth come Ultimate Alien.

But, let’s not forget this is all because of what he did. It is as a cause of all the battles he fought and all the pain, loss, fear, and criticism he suffered throughout Alien Force and Ultimate Alien that made him, and his name, so well known. That should not be undermined and reduced to just an insignificant “little hero thing.”

Please realize that this isn’t even something Ben himself ever brings up in the actual episode either. I have no doubt that it bothers him to some extent, but he surprisingly lets them off the hook as long as they don’t cause any more real danger to real people during the process of making their show, and subsequently, stop giving him a bad name.

The, so-called, “real” Ben 10 (Deefus) was supposedly based on the hero Ben 10 (the Ben we know), and that in and of itself implies that he is a representation of the hero Ben 10. But, aside from some similar catchphrases and a colour-scheme accurate costume...the most important part of Ben’s character, the parts that make him a hero, all the good traits I keep outlining, which are derived from his humanity, were lacking. In fact, while pretending to be a hero, this guy actually caused a traffic accident!

It goes without saying that Ben obviously fixed this mess as cleanly and quickly as he could. He absolutely could have taken this chance to be what the fandom deems “immature” and gloat about how he is a much better superhero because he’s the real hero here! Did you see how effortlessly he just saved that guy?!

But he doesn’t do that at all. His actions and words here should clearly point to where his priorities are.

“You put real people in real danger. I’m putting a stop to it.”

Lastly, as shown in this popular Tumblr post, the fandom was very proud of him in the ending scene especially. First of all, he never got an apology for all the trouble they've caused him. Hardly anyone showed Ben the respect he deserved for literally giving them something to capitalize on. But, as soon as Deefus finds something “offensive”, Ben has enough decency to be the better person, apologize, correct himself, and use Deefus’ preferred terminology instead of continuing to be “offensive”, which is very telling considering Ben has probably been offended the entire episode up until now.

Ben: “This guy’s just a Sludgepuppy who turns into pretend aliens.”

Deefus: “Hey! That term is derogatory!”

Ben: “What’s the big deal with the word “Sludgepuppy”l? I’ve got cousins who are Sludgepuppies.”

Deefus: “I’ll have you know it’s a very offensive slur.”

Ben: “Really? Wow. Sorry. Okay, a few Lenopan cousins.”

Even Deefus was taken aback by Ben’s maturity here. And where does that come from, might you ask?

Character development and continuity.

All of these circumstances showcase scenarios that are greatly unfair in Ben’s favour. In spite of this, he is continuously cooperative, understanding, forgiving, and reliable.

Throughout all four series.

flash: I don’t know jay, I was running through the city with Wally and Jesse and all of a sudden I fell asleep instantly, hell I don’t even remember closing my eyes.

superman: guys be careful around the edges we have some weird metal thorns on these walls, I tried using my x-ray vision and can’t see anything but this weird metallic liquid substance surrounding us.

atom: maybe if we look around the room we can find a way out of here.

firestorm: oh guys I found a button I’m gonna press it.

Jesse quick: guys what do we do?

kid flash: Barry!!! kara! do something!

*deep robotic male voice speaking*: Congratulations, you’ve been selected for a once in a lifetime opportunity, we look at heroes spread across the omniverse across all space and time, and select a carefully chosen group of people to compete in our competition, this is Labrynth a yearly competition. we choose 13 groups of twelve and have each put into our labyrinth, each team is pit up against each other to arrive to the epicenter of our labyrinth, first team to arrive gets to live. But wait their’s more! your team has to try to survive our obstacles we’ve set along the way, you may finish with one member or if you’re lucky 8, we can’t tell you what happens when you reach the epicenter but be prepared for more epic entertainment! Make sure to really get into it as our fanbase enjoys watching you guys try your best. Best of luck and hope you win!*

*second robotic voice comes on that's another male*: alright for your first task you must choose one amongst you and put them on the platform in the edge of the room by the front wall, this will be your teams sacrifice player and will not be continuing the game with you guys from this point on, if you refuse to put a player on the board your team will be disqualified, you have 5 minutes*

elongated man: he has to be kidding right? I mean no way this is serious.

flash: Jesse, Wally, jay go in to flash time with me now.

flash in flash time now: guys we have to come up with something quick, in flash time we can probably can extend that 5 minutes to an hour but it won’t be enough to save us. here’s our options we can all try to phase out of here to find something, we can phase together one wall and see if we can make it collapse so we can leave from here or we can through lighting bolts.

kid flash: we don’t we try the speed force

jay Garrick: Barry and I already tried that while the voices were explaining the whole thing, we can’t access it for some reason.

Jesse quick: could we combine our speeds and try it

*robotic voice again*: no you can’t, speedsters we have allowed you to keep most of your abilities to give you the best fighting chance, but please be aware that we are consistently monitoring any ability to cheat in this game. and time travel, that's a little too much of an advantage, I suggest you leave this flash time as you call it and regroup with the rest of your team to make a decision*

flash: it’s right we gotta do something and something fast

green arrow: did you guys figure anything out Barry!

kid flash: nothing it took our ability to access the speed force for some reason so flash time is just delaying the inevitable.

Jesse quick: Wally don’t be so negative!

kid flash: what it’s the truth, we all know we’re fighting together and or dying together, so this might be it unless superman and kara can pull something out their sleeves.

elongated man: guys where’s ray?

atom: *growing back into norma height* sorry guys I was looking for a small crack in the room to see if I can find us a way out of here but nothing for some reason. it’s all a weird liquid metal consistency.

vibe: and I can’t create a portal for some reason, but what atom said does give me an idea, Barry what if we shrink all of us down to size, and see if all four of you speedsters and break through this consistency, and if you can then now you can bring us with you, Barry takes Oliver, jay will take cara, Jesse will take Ralph, Wally can take killer frost, and I can.... who am I kidding this is impossible and we have two minutes left.

flash: it’s worth a shot Cisco

*so team 8 began to shrink all themselves down with the atoms shrink ray abilities*

Green arrow: change of plans superman, supergirl, and firestorm will stay back, you guys take atom, elongated man, vibe and killer frost then if it works come back for us.

flash: Oliver maybe we can take two at a time

green: we have a minute left we have no room to argue all of us could be dead soon we have to act fast

supergirl and firestorm: he’s right! superman: you guys should get going!

Jesse quick: we don’t even know if this is going to work?

atom: it has to we shrank so small that we’re basically the size of atoms right now if not slightly smaller.

kid flash: alright guys 30 seconds left, grab your partner and charge up as much speed as you possibly can we’re all going to run through the front wall on three together for added speed hopefully we run and actually access the speed force if not we at least make it through to the next room.

flash: we’ll be right back for you guys I promise

green arrow: I know you will

vibe: guys we’re running out of time 15 seconds

*team 8 charged up and successfully travel through the front wall into a much bigger dimly light dark gray room now the size of a lunch room*

flash: we did it, quick lets go back for the rest of them

*as they traveled back to grab the others and traveled back into the newer room ray the atom began using his shrink ray to make everyone go back to normal size again*

atom: I can’t believe that worked! oh my god we did it!

elongated man: whew that was a CLOSE one!

firestorm: I’m just glad you guys came back for me *chuckling*

kid flash: of come on guys you knew we were gonna come back for you

Jesse quick: yeah even though Wally almost lost his cool for a second back there

kid flash: I did not lose my cool!

Jesse quick: you totally lost your cool, you got all nervous kid flash

kid flash: I told you guys not to call me that

atom: well at least at this rate we’ll make it out of here safe and in no time. *ray smiling*

*red laser blast straight the the back of his chest out the front of the center of his chest, ray (the atom) gasps for air as you see the shock on his face*

flash: ray!!!!!

super girl: noooo!!!!!!!

*robotic voice: congratulations you guys have made it past the first level, we from the labrynth committee commend you, no team has ever gotten past the first level without having a player be sacrificed. Considering how you guys all got past it we thought we’d save you the drama of having to choose a player all over again and choose one for you, since you can not proceed past level on with 12 players.*

Jesse quick: *crying* who are you! you killed ray... they killed ray.

*robotic voice: I do apologize for the inconvenience, we’ll have the body removed shortly so you can continue to the next phase. we’ll give you guys a 10 minute recession courtesy of you winning with flying colors, normally we only do five*

green arrow: damn you!

superman: we have to keep moving guys rays death can’t be in vain we’re all in this now.

green arrow: it was supposed to be me

flash: Oliver you can’t always be so quick to be to sacrifice yourself we want everybody to make it out of here alive.

vibe: Barry what if that’s not the point, what is the reason we’re here right now is because of some messed up saw like wet dream but for a new evil villain.

flash: we’ll this isn’t the first and it won’t be the last we’ll get out of here Cisco now let’s just here what they have to say about this next phase to see what we have to do now.

*robotic voice: alright ten minutes have passed I hope you guys chatted it up and enjoyed your break, this next phase will now have to players chosen, place them on either platform at the end of the new front wall, each player you choose will have to fight each other to the death, and your team will proceed to phase or level 3 with 10 players. *

elongated man: this is a dream, wake up dibny wake up!

flash: we pit him up against me, maybe we can find another way to escape from the inside again.

elongated man: oh no not this again we’re just gonna win and terminator voice 5000 is gonna laser beam through someones chest again, probably mine,

flash: well we don’t have much of a choice we’re not going to entertain this monster and play it’s games.

superman: I trust you Barry if anyone can do this it’s you two

supergirl: I trust you too Barry

jay Garrick: we’re super heroes Barry don’t worry about us in here plus it’s three speedsters in here

flash: I know you guys a safe, I’ll be back in a flash

*barry steps on second platform gets absorbed into a battle arena to see green arrow with his bow and arrow aimed under his chin*

*barry (the flash) runs at green arrow (Oliver) and pulls the bow and arrow out if his hand pushing him into the dirt ground of the arena*

Green arrow: Barry what are you doing here

flash: not letting you be stupid Oliver

green arrow: you’re the one being stupid, we don’t have time and you guys need to keep going forward

flash: *grabbing Oliver by the should* we’re in flash time now we can figure something out, together a real way to save everyone, its you and me Oliver we can do this

green arrow: I don’t have the fight in me like you think I do Barry this seems like a cut and dry situation were we’re meant to die, I just wanted to keep you guys alive for as long as possible

flash: thats not how we do things and you know that. now lets take a look around this arena.

*as flash and arrow looked in the arena for openings they found a vent which the went in and ended up in the third room they had succeeded in finding the new room but still need to find a way to get the others*

flash: see we can’t give up we’re halfway their already

green arrow: guess your right Barry, now what

flash: we keep going like we always do

*screen coming down showing other heroes in second room, robotic voice: you guys don’t learn do you, this is your final warning or your whole team will be disqualified, watch as the rest of your teammates get disqualified from the competition*

*flash and arrow watch as room has huge spike pillars stab the rest of team flash form all directions making sure to stab superman and supergirl with kryptonite spikes from the wall all heroes collapse and die*

green arrow: noooooo!!!!!

flash: what did I do, Oliver what did I do.

*robotic voice, we don't like rule breakers in this challenge as the complicate the process of the obstacle course, regardless we have to change of few of the games now as we prepare you guys for phase/level three. congratulations by the way and if it makes you feel any better both of you can still be finalists. best of luck we will give you another 10 minute break before reaching out to you for phase 3.
