i wonder how much this wasn’t just about trying to defeat salem… but doing it ALONE. trying to protect everyone and taking all the burden of keeping THEM safe upon yourself.

i think summer believed her love alone could give her strength to win, as a silver-eyed warrior, and who knows? maybe she WAS the summer maiden and with that, too, believed she couldn’t fail.

with all that power… she was still alone.
