the more chespin appears in xy, the more im soooo grateful that by sun and moon they dropped the “ha ha isnt this one starter SO much worse than the other two?” bit with piplup oshawott and chespin because oh my god i just KNOW itd have been done with popplio and i dont think we as a community wouldve survived that

#like. the closest they get to it is rowlet being sleepy ig? which isnt done to take piss shots at rowlet #at least not in the way that the writers clearly didnt care for the oshawott and chespin lines #but like. they already did it to my fave starter once. i couldnt cope with them doing it agaib #jn didnt do it w the galar starters either. or at least that specific bit #i just remembered theres an episode later in xy where quilladin shows up as an antagonist #and bonnie like is ew chespin evolves into THAT? #and aside from that its sparse cameos and chesnaught iirc only really gets one episode #so that combined w how chespin is once again an overzealous bratty pokemon that gets beat up all the time #its like. we get it u hate chespin. can u shut up now #like i prefer the other two starters to a large margin and i still find it excessive and weird #echoed voice
