#wait no PREV ???? FRUITCAKE????#you're telling me there's more than just the white and baja blast variations?? including THAT??
@hailthedragonmaster
/FOLDS HANDS!!
Because I am that person: yeah, they did a fruitcake flavor for Christmas. It looked disgusting, so I didn’t try it. :’) They called it Fruit Quake. The one year, they had one called Merry Mash-Up, which was actually pretty pleasant! It was cranberry-pomegranate!! Then, they did Gingerbread Snap’d...which also looked absolutely nasty.
What’s even MORE fun: they do ones every year for Halloween now. THEY’RE MYSTERY FLAVORED, AND CALLED VOODEW. 22′s was sour candy flavored!! The first one (’19) was candy corn (blehhh),, ‘20 was fruit candy explosion (it was tasty!), aaand ‘21 was fruit candy chews (VERY YUM).
I was around for the CONTESTS, too. You mentioned White Out, which is delish. That one was the winner of its contest!! It went up against my personal favorite--Distortion (lime flavored!) and Typhoon (tropical punch--or pineapple strawberry!), which was okay-ish.
Before that, it was Voltage (which is kind of meh--raspberry citrus), Revolution (NECTAR OF THE GODS. I WANT IT BACK. SO. BAD. It was ‘wild berry fruit’ flavored!), and Supernova (strawberry-melon, which...man, I wanted to like it, but it tasted so fake).
The only thing that got CLOSE to Revolution was both Game Fuel (Wild Fruit) for the WoW expansion release, and Dark Berry for the release of The Dark Knight Rises.
There have been so many limited-release Dews that it isn’t funny.
There’s even variations of Baja Blast! (The mango one was DELICIOUS.)
There are also tooons of franchise exclusives that you can ONLY find at certain places. I mentioned Purple Thunder: that one’s Circle K exclusive! Applebee’s has a Berry Burst one I REALLY want to try. Same with Buffalo Wild Wings ‘Legend,’ which is apparently blackberry citrus. YUM.
And, uh.
Yeah. I enjoy fun new Mountain Dew flavors a normal amount.

Healthy Halloween Treats (affordable & on Amazon Prime!)
New Post has been published on https://womanshealthwithmegan.com/healthy-halloween-treats-affordable-on-amazon-prime
Healthy Halloween Treats (affordable & on Amazon Prime!)
High fructose corn syrup, artificial dyes, hydrogenated oils… Halloween can be a scary time for Natural Mamas!
But don’t despair! Thanks to the real food movement, there are plenty of healthy Halloween treats on the market! (And many are available on Amazon Prime for last minute shoppers like me. ?)
Healthy Halloween Treats Don’t Have to Be Pricey?
While we’d all love to give away organic, fair trade, non-GMO, low-cadmium chocolate bars sweetened with organic coconut nectar crystals fresh from the palm, we don’t want to spend $3.00 per kid! Best to save those special treats for mama ?and find more affordable treat options, especially if you’re expecting tons of Trick-or-Treaters!
Healthy Halloween Treats Don’t Have to be Hard to Find…
Most grocery stores don’t have large selections of healthy Halloween treats. Sure, Whole Foods does, but they tend to be cost prohibitive. (Again, save the special treats for mama.) I also don’t like going from store to store searching for options when I can order them from the comfort of my own home (hello, Amazon Prime!). Plus, I find much better deals online than I find in most health food stores.
Best Healthy Halloween Treats
Without further adieu, here are my top recommendations for affordable and healthy Halloween treats ranked by price and all are available on Amazon Prime.
YummyEarth Drops* – YummyEarth’s hard candies in fun flavors like Pomegranate Pucker, Mango Tango, & Wet-face Watermelon. These individually-wrapped candies are allergen free, non-GMO, and contain natural sugars. The candies are small so you’ll need to give out a few per child.
YummyEarth Lollipops* – YummyEarth’s flagship product, these suckers are organic, vegan, gluten-free, non-GMO and great for kids with allergies since they’re free from eggs, dairy, soy, peanuts and tree nuts.
Honey Sticks* (Raw & Unfiltered!) – think of these as liquid “pixy stixs” but a healthier, natural sugar that contains enzymes and nutrients. And because honey doesn’t go bad, you can save leftovers for next Halloween.
Zolli pops* – Help support kids teeth while giving them candy ? These lollipops are super inexpensive but are made without sugar, gluten, dairy, GMO’s and sweetened with xylitol, erythritol and stevia.
Cocomels Coconut Milk Caramels – These creamy dreamy caramels are D-E-L-I-O-U-S! And gluten, dairy, soy, GMO and refined sugar free. They’re individually wrapped, come in a variety of flavors and on the smaller size.
Unreal Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups & Chocolate Gems (peanut free) –  One of the more indulgent, healthy Halloween treats is these candies from Unreal. All of their chocolate is fair trade, organic and non-GMO. Both of these candies are individually wrapped, on the smaller size and contain only 6 grams of natural sugar each!
Honest Kids Organic Juice Drinks* – Be original and  surprise each kid with a refreshing drink (which might taste great to a sweaty kid in a bulky costume whose been running from house to house!) These diluted, 100% fruit juices are low in calories, sugar and contain no pesticide residues because they’re organic. (Keep in cooler so they’re nice and cold.)
YummyEarth Gummy Bears – A child hasn’t met a gummy that he didn’t love. ? These organic gummy bears are non-GMO and don’t contain the top allergens: egg, fish, milk, peanuts, shellfish, soy, tree-nuts and gluten.
Organic Stretch Island Fruit Leather * – These healthy Halloween treats are made from 100% organic fruit with no added gelatin, sugar, or flavorings. Individually wrapped and comes in a variety flavors.
Mini Lara Bars – Larabar, is the original fruit and nut bar (before RxBars were a thing). Made of simple ingredients, these mini bars are individually wrapped and made up of gluten-free, non-GMO ingredients.
* Great options that don’t exclude kids with allergies. Looking for ways to celebrate the season without so much focus on treats? Check out this post.
SPLURGE Healthy Halloween Treats
For mamas who don’t have many Trick-O-Treaters or don’t celebrate the holiday but still want healthy treats for her family, here are some decadent options…
Alter Eco Chocolate Truffles – Um, in a word, YUM! These special chocolate truffles are fair trade, organic and non-GMO. Creamy, dreamy and delicious, these candies are individually wrapped and come in a variety of flavors.
YummyEarth Candy Corn! –  I think this organic knock off of the iconic Halloween candy broke the internet. It’s currently out of stock but may be available at your local health food or Whole Foods store.
Justin’s Organic Peanut Butter Cups – Watch out Reece’s these organic peanut butter cups are giving you a run for your money! They’re gluten and GMO free and come in dark, milk or white chocolate varieties ?? And unlike Unreal brand, these are big, full-sized cups.
Homemade Healthy Halloween Treats
For those who prefer a quite holiday and want to make their own healthy Halloween treats, here are some recipes you could try…
Sprouted Pumpkin Seed Turtles – These are great for kids with nut allergies! (And mama will like them too :).
Healthy Gummy Bears (fruit-juice & honey sweetened) – A super fun treat that doesn’t last long in my household ?
Paleo Pumpkin Dessert Bites – Creamy, dreamy and without any nasty ingredients, you could even say these little desserts are nutrient-dense.
Non-Food Healthy Halloween Treats
If you participate in the Teal Pumpkin Project, here are some non-food items you can offer children. As an FYI, if you plan on also handing out candy too, be sure to put these non-food items in a separate dish so there’s no cross-contamination.
Stickers –  Who doesn’t love stickers?! Giveaway a few away per Trick-o-Treater for a fun alternative.
Glow sticks – Like a moth to a flame, glow sticks are a child magnet! These inexpensive treats not only grab kids’ attentions but provide a little light on Halloween night when the sun starts to set.
Halloween stamps –  Let kids “ink” themselves with these festive Halloween-themed stamps.
Mini Bubbles – One of my daughter’s favorite things in life, these mini bubbles are fun, festive and allergen free.
Healthy Halloween Treats: It is possible!
I hope this post is helpful in your quest for healthy Halloween treats. With a little creativity and planning, it is definitely doable, mama! And if you want to curb the candy consumption post-Halloween, be sure to check out my post about the Switch Witch.
How about you?
