I think it's interesting how even though Coles a spirit he never really seems to notice (or it isn't directly stated in the game) that Solas is like an elven god, like he obviously picks up some vibes but still

Cut The Act
Wordcount: 1900 Ship: Gen A/N: This is a fic set in the movie!Verse :] I wrote this ages ago, after i first watched the movie, and only recently cleaned it up enough to feel comfortable posting lol. This takes place a few years after the movie, and Zane has grown a lot during that time so he's a bit uhh OOC, sorry lol Warnings: Mentions of an off-screen injury that's already healed.
Summary: After Zane get a bad scrape in a fight, he decides to acknowledge the elephant in the room and come clean about his nindroid nature. It'll be anxiety free- All of his friends have connected the dots and figured it out by now anyway... Right?
In his defense, he was pretty sure they already knew.
It’s not as if he thought he was dropping some huge life changing bombshell on them, because they had been dropping pretty un-subtle hints that hey! We know you’re a robot, and we love and support you anyway! Which is why, when he walks into the hangar on that Saturday afternoon, he didn’t think to like, brace them or anything. It just that he wanted to share this part of himself with them more intimately, and also in one of their last fights he’d been damaged- he’d walked it off, fine enough to make it home so Father could see to it, but now he couldn’t quite stop thinking about what would happen if something were to go really wrong, and he needed emergency maintenance on the field.
Of course he trusted Jay and Nya more than anything, and would gladly lay his life in their hands if it came down to it- they were nearly as capable as his father, and should honestly meet him, but that's a story for another day. The duo had worked together to build their mechs, and if anyone could put his intricate wiring back together in a worse-case-scenario type of event, it would be them. So really, this was all very practical, and the obviously logical choice, made totally easier by the fact that he honestly thought they already knew.
So the reason he was at least 95 percent sure they’d caught on was that, during the early years when he was still learning, he was very much not so great at blending in. Turns out, being a normal teen did not involve dropping the words ‘normal teen’ into every other sentence, or casually downloading yourself into most electronics, or perfectly vocalized dial tones. With upgrades and time, he’d picked up on some of the intricacies of human emotion and nowadays people would rarely look at him twice (This isn't exactly true- even as much as he'd grown and learned, he's pretty sure he'll always be on a different page than everyone else, but that stopped bothering him a long time ago. He was weird, and his friends liked him that way.) if not for his friendship with Lloyd Garmadon and his status as the white ninja, he would totally blend in. To people who knew him from the start, though, there was definitely a clear… learning curve, so to speak.
When Father had been repairing him after that particular fight and Zane had brought up the idea, Dr. Julien had been all for it.
“Being honest with your friends is good,” His father had said, pulling back his goggles to smile kindly at Zane, “If you trust them, you should tell them.”
Though his father had probably not intended for Zane to make a very forbidden copy of his own blueprints to give to his friends, but what dad doesn’t know won’t hurt him.
And, well, it’s not like they ever acted like they hadn’t caught on. Most other kids in their grade would look at him like he’d grown a second head, voice turning stilted and judgemental whenever he let slip his more mechanical aspects- but never his friends. They accepted it, and loved him anyways.
For example, last year during English class after a particularly comprehensive personal software update, Zane had sighed. As in, for real, actually sighed, instead of just saying the word out loud. Cole, who had English with Zane each year, had smiled at him with this playful sort of look and said, “Hey, your voice modulator got an update!” And he’d winked as if in on a joke, “Sounds good on you!”
As endearing as it was after the fact, that Cole not only noticed but complimented his fathers work, in the moment he’d felt his processor drop into his feet, sensors flooding with adrenaline. They’d never outright stated they knew like that, and it’d never been so obvious. Sure, sometimes they asked him to run statistics or look up something really specific, but never before had they directly referenced his voice modulator or anything of the type.
He’d ducked his head, anxiety and nerves ramping up, hesitating for a fraction of a second before what Cole had said sunk in. Sounds good on you. He brightens a little at the support, “Thank you,” He says honestly, smiling, “Father installed it over the weekend.” he offers timidly, still dancing around fully admitting he’s a robot, though coming closer than he ever figured he would.
Things like this happened more and more frequently over the years, where they would super obviously hint they had connected the dots. It would be something everybody knows but no one acknowledges sort of situation. He was comfortable with that.
Until he very much wasn’t.
So here he was, one saturday afternoon, very seriously walking into his friends hang-out session with a fancy document tube containing xeroxed copies of his own blueprints, all ready to lay out his innermost mechanisms to his friends in the ultimate show of trust, and to finally acknowledge the elephant in the room. Plus, over time, it started feeling weird and wrong to keep such a serious secret from them. He wanted to be completely open and honest… And now he was finally ready to make that leap.
“My friends.” he announces, stepping in front of the old TV Kai and Nya had brought in sometime sophomore year so they could play video games and watch movies together, “I have something serious to discuss.”
“Wait- I’m almost done with this lap!” Jay stretches his neck to try and see around Zane, mashing blindly at the buttons on his controller.
Nya reaches over and smacks him playfully on the back of the head, “He said this was serious, Jay. Just pause it.” He blinks a little and nods bashfully, tossing the controller aside.
“So whats up?” Lloyd prods, as the rest of his friends all sit up a little straighter to offer their attention, Cole going so far as to take his headphones off his neck completely.
Zane feels a surge of nerves rush through his head and he fiddles with the cap of the document tube for a moment to gather his courage, “My friends, as I believe you already know… I am an android.” he says the last part without pause, pushing through it so he doesn’t stumble or second guess himself.
All of them, who had been getting increasingly tense as Zane stood there, seemed to exhale collectively, “Is that all? You had me scared there for a second!” Kai jokes.
Cole smiles, “Yeah man, we know about the robot thing. It doesn’t change anything.” he picks up on Zane's anxiety, smiling reassuringly at him.
Feeling emboldened by their response, Zane finally twists the cap off of the document tube, “You have no idea how much this means to me. I feel it is important, now that our fights are getting more dangerous, that I give you all these.” He clears a spot of the coffee table before dumping out the papers across its surface, kneeling down to smooth out the stack and organize them, “My blueprints.”
He glances up and sees them all smile easily at him, Jay and Nya leaning forward curiously, “You have to keep these a secret. My Father built me, these are his notes, and he doesn’t know I took my own copies.” he notes his friends expression pinch, like they don’t quite compute what he’s saying, and he assumes they must not like that he took these without permission, “It’s the logical course of action to share these with you all, in the event that I am damaged and need emergency repair, you will be unable to help without studying my build.”
He spreads the pictures out, sliding a few closer to his friends so they can look themselves, and Nya carefully picks up a page. She laughs awkwardly, analyzing the information in front of her with wide eyes, “These are… awfully detailed, Zane.”
“Yeah, I mean, how long did these take to make?” Jay peeks over Nya's shoulder, the others looking at the different pages themselves with wide eyes, “These mechanics look actually legit!”
“My father has been working on my mechanics for his entire life.” Frowning, Zane looks back down at the papers, “Of course they are legitimate, they’re mine. Here, look-” He strips his sweater vest off, folding it and setting it aside and starting in on unbuttoning his shirt.
“Woah!” Lloyd holds up his hands to shield Zane, “Lets keep your clothes on, Zane!”
Zane’s confused, his button up pooling in his lap, leaving him kneeling on the floor in only his shoes, khakis, and undershirt, “My construction is completely unique to anything in Ninjago, I do not mind showing you.”
Cole tilts his head, the crease between his brows growing more pronounced, “You’re… not making this up, are you?”
“Making this up?” His frown deepens.
“You mean you’re actually…” Kai trails off, eyes widening.
“But… a fully recognized AI is years off…”
“I already told you I am like nothing in Ninjago.” Zane explains, “You thought I was… lying?” The word rankles, and he feels his emotions plummet.
“Not lying!” Lloyd is looking at Zane like he’s seeing him for the first time, “We just thought you were… playing. Y’know, like, pretend.” He finishes with a wince.
Zane lets that process before a laugh bubbles up out of his chest, and he covers his mouth to stifle it, looking back at all his memories with a new filter. All the playful smirks, the joking comments! They must have thought he was so strange- and still, they had embraced him and even joined in! “I do not mean to laugh, just- thank you. For playing along, I suppose.”
The smile fades as the reality sinks in, he has no idea how they’ll truly react to his robotic nature, “But… I am telling the truth. I am an android, my father built me to protect those who cannot protect themselves.” At this, he tugs his undershirt off over his head, revealing the seam where his synthetic skin stops, metal casing continuing and taking up most of the expanse of his chest. He slides his hand along the panel embedded where his ribs would be, popping open his front compartment and revealing neatly routed wires and the glow of his power source, “This is not pretend. I hope you can still see me as your friend.”
He looks up earnestly, hoping their playful enthusiasm from before will come back, and each of his friends have varying reactions. Nya and Jay look intensely curious, Cole looks calm as usual, and kai and Lloyd…
“I support you one hundred percent, bro,” Kai points out before Zane can assume the worst as he cringes away from the imagery, “But from a strictly human perspective, I am looking at your guts, and that’s a little…”
“Morbid.” Lloyd agrees, looking bashfully green around the gills.
“This is so totally cool!” Jay announces, grinning, “You’re like a- a nindroid!”
“A what?”
“Ninja Android. Nindroid.” Jay explains before he calms down, smiling sincerely at Zane, “This doesn’t change anything. You’re still one of my best friends.”
“Same for me.” Nya nods, “We support you through thick and thin!”
“We’re your family.” Cole confirms, “Nothing could change that. You’re still our Zane, just more… gears.”
Zane closes the panel, smiling brightly, and Kai perks up, “No matter what you’re made of, you’re still our brother.”
“Thank you all.” He says sincerely, feeling lighter.
“Yeah!” Jay grins, “Yeah, and how cool is it that I can honestly say "My brother is a Nindroid?"”

Break | Cillian Murphy x Fem!Reader | One Shot - Prompt |
Tumblr media
Summary: Based off of the break up prompt lists. "I've thought about it. All night. And I think we both should take a break." & "I loved you. And I don't think I could ever forget you. Had things never gone south, I'd— I would've grown old with you. I'm so sorry, but I can't do this anymore." Warnings: Language, heartbreak. Request: Anon. A/N: Okkkk I struggled to break up with Cillian because why would I?. This has a little bit of Joe Cole x reader as well. I'm so sorry if I also break your hearts wirth this! Let me know if you want to be on my taglist!
•Break•
You had given up and decided to head to bed once the clock turned to midnight, you were waiting up for your boyfriend. You'd been doing that alot lately. Cillian would wander in whenever he pleased, not letting you know where he was or had been. You were barely exchanging words when you were around each other, and the last time you'd been intimate was a distant memory.
The thought of not even having him try to kiss your face all over when he returned from a few weeks filming was enough to make you hiccup out a sob as you stood in front of the bathroom mirror, you were losing him and you had no clue what had caused it.
You threw back the heavy duvet, climbing under it, you grabbed for his pillow it smelt just like him and you needed that right now,you needed to know you could have something of him close. The bedroom door opening and the light from the hall signalled he was back, you hadn't seen him since 7am that morning you were rushing out the door to work, had managed to slip a kiss to his cheek as he busied himself with making breakfast, he had grumbled a see ya later as you closed the door behind you.
Rolling over you watched as he undressed, dropped his clothes into the hamper just inside the wardrobe and headed for the bathroom, you heard the shower turn on, with a sigh you left the bed, opening the bathroom door you sat on the marble side, waiting for him to finish.
His blue eyes flicked over you as he stepped out, your eyes trailed over his body the carved out abs on his stomach, his broad shoulders all the working out for Peaky Blinders was paying off. "Do you even love me, anymore?" you asked arms folded across your chest, Cillian stopped dead in his tracks only moving to wrap a towel around his waist, the water dropping from his hair onto his back. His muscles flexed as his huffed out a breath ""I've thought about it. All night. And I think we both should take a break" his voice was calm, carefully measured he hadn't turned to look at you. Without a word you moved from the side, biting back tears you left the bathroom, heart shattering with every step. Grabbing the pillow you had been curled into you snatched your phone from the bedside table, the charger and your laptop. Cillian had appeared from the bathroom. You looked at him, the hurt evident on your face "I'll be gone tomorrow" you didn't look back as you left your shared room, heading for the guest room furthest away so he wouldn't hear your heartbreak even more. Sure enough the next mornig, you were gone and Cillian knew he'd made the biggest mistake. *** Cillian spotted you sat out on the terrace, of course you would be here, you'd spent years of your life around his castmate, years of friendship formed between you all. Of course you'd be celebrating Paul and Annie's engagement with them. He just wasn't prepared to see you with Joe, you hadn't spoke to him at all in the year since he broke up with you, you had made sure the house was cleared whilst he was away and you'd definitely diverted his calls. You were sat at the table, in a simple denim summer dress, your hair was shorter but it suited you, you were leaning in close to Joe, his smile was definitely down to you, you always knew how to make people happy. He knew how bad he'd treated you, how he'd left you wondering every evening at home, whether he'd return or not. The press and pressure of your age had got to him, he needed a private life craved one but the fact he'd stepped out with you half his age and so open had pulled his life into the spotlight, he couldn't deal with it so he had hurt you in the process. Helen and Natasha had told him about your relationship with Joe, with how it had all happened so naturally after you had reappeared from hiding away from them all, Joe trying his hardest to mend your heart. Sophie had been so angry with him, told him he was selfish and ridiculous to think anything outside of your relationship mattered so much that he had to break your heart that way. Cillian just hadn't expected to have to deal with seeing you curled into Joe's side, dropping kisses to his cheek the way you had with him and then you were walking up the path to the kitchen where he'd been hiding. You had stalled slightly at the sight of him, the sight of him there in front of you, after a year of avoiding him, you had childishly ignored his calls not wanting to hear him reason with you over his decision, not wanting to hear his stupid excuses. You walked past him, straight to the bathroom in the hall, stealing a few extra minutes to catch your breath after that familiar scent of his aftershave caught your senses and knocked the breath from your lungs. It had took you months to even want to speak to anyone about him, Helen had held you so many times as you sobbed, as you cursed her closest friend, wished him some kind of pain like the one he had caused you. Joe had took you out on a friend date, something to make you feel normal and then at the end of the night his lips had brushed yours and you felt so many emotions, you'd cried right there on your doorstep, he wrapped you tight in his arms, rocked you on the sofa whispered promises you weren't sure you could believe.
You had believed them though, you'd let him in even with the fear of judgement from others, about moving on within the group but he had brushed all those fears away, he'd let everyone know when you were ready and the support was enormous everyone just wanted you happy. Cillian was waiting outside the bathroom, he need to speak to you, he needed to hear your honey coated voice once more, it had been too long. "Hi y/n" he spoke softly not to make you jump. You smiled at him, not quite reaching your eyes "Hey Cill, how are you?" you had took the polite route, you didn't want to ruin Paul and Annie's day. Cillian had nodded sipping from his drink, a little shocked at how easily his nickname had left your lips "fine, yeah good, you?" You lent against the wall "great thanks" you bit at your lip eyes darting across his face, his hair was longer his preffered style, he looked tired but you knew he'd be out in New York filming for a new movie, Helen sometimes couldn't help but mention him. "does he treat you right?" Cillian couldn't help himself, he needed to ask. You let out a small laugh "He does thank you for the concern, but really you didn't exactly treat me right towards the end"
He deserved that he knew he did but it didn't hurt any less "You never let me apologise for that" You simply rolled your eyes "I loved you. And I don't think I could ever forget you. Had things never gone south, I'd— I would've grown old with you. I'm so sorry, but I can't do this anymore" you pushed away from the wall, heading back out into the garden. Cillian watched you go, watched as Joe greeted you half way back to the table, concern on his face, he watched as you reassured him, kissing him hand squeezing at his arm, he knew that touch he knew how that felt and he had to try his hardest to hold back his emotions as you turned to look right at him, giving him a small smile before taking your seat again. Cillian made his way to his own seat, next to Finn and Sophie who turned to include him in the conversation, his heart pounding at the fact he really had lost you now, and he only had himself to blame. *** Taglist. @queenshelby @cloudofdisney @janelongxox @datewithgianni @elenavampire21 @magicalpieex

When Kasey was lying in her bed that night she was so confused it made her feel dizzy. She just couldn't stop thinking about Thomas. Not only after tonight. It had been like this for weeks now - every single night. Since the night he'd made her omelet and Cupid's arrow had aimed for her heart.
After meeting him for the first time at the beach she had considered him to be nothing but a himbo. A handsome face and a lame brain. But she'd soon realized he was so much more. A smart guy, very mature for his age, sensitive, caring and loyal to a fault. He had this very thoughtful, emotional, brooding side, still hurting from all the tough shit that had happened to him, but he also was a flirt, funny and full of ideas, making Kasey laugh all the time with his silly jokes and stories. And they shared not only their sense of humor but the view on life, having the same values, the same visions. It took him only a few days to conquer her heart by storm and to make her realize that she was seriously in love with him.
It wasn't the first time since Cole had died, that she felt something for another man. There had been a little flirt going on with Parker for a few weeks before their missions had started. It had been close to getting physical but being the responsible and sensible man he just was, Parker wanted them to wait before dating and going further than flirting till they both were back safe and sound. But she didn't think about dating Parker anymore, she only wanted to be with Thomas. At least till the day she had an enlightening conversation with Sam. Sam was in her early twenties, a very pretty woman with a breathtakingly curvy body, part of the nursing team and not really a friend but someone Kasey liked to be around and to have a little chat with.
"So you work with Thomas now, don't you?" Sam asked her one day, when they were doing their laundry in the laundry shack.
"Yes, I do. He helps me with the library."
"Lucky you."
"Umm...yes. He's nice."
"Nice? He's hot. And he's a good fuck."
"Excuse me?" Kasey said, her eyebrows shooting up.
Sam laughed.
"Sorry, didn't mean to shock you, but he is." she gave her a wink. "I mean just in case you're in need of something physical, he's your guy. He's easy to have and he won't be a pain in the ass afterwards."
"Really?" Kasey said, feeling very uncomfortable about the direction this conversation was taking.
"Yeah. No strings attached. Never. He doesn't do relationships."
"Oh." was all she was able to say.
"Yeah. Got his heart broken when his girlfriend died, poor boy."
"Teresa?"
"Yeah, I think so. He was with Anne for a few weeks after he came here. She was his first...you know what I mean..." Sam smirked. "But Anne ditched him because she found him boring and since then he's just screwing around. Flirting like crazy and jumping anything with a heartbeat and boobs. Has broken a few hearts but it was the bitches own fault. He never promises anything but one night of good fun."
"And you? Did you sleep with him?"
"Yes, and it was great. He knows how to satisfy a woman. Lasts very long. Great package too. You should give it a try, Kay."
"Nah..." Kasey said, nausea rising in her stomach. "Not interested."
"Still waiting for Parker to return?"
"Yeah, something like that." Kasey mumbled, feeling her hopes crumble to dust.
That was the day she'd buried her feelings for Thomas deep inside her heart, locking them in and throwing away the key, refusing to think of him as more than a friend anymore. She didn't change her behaviour towards him, not wanting him to realize something was different. It wasn't his fault that she was stupid enough to fall in love with a man his friends called Casanova.
By day her self-deceit worked just fine but by night her body betrayed her. The spirit was willing but the flesh was weak and so almost every night after a lot of tossing and turning, her thoughts circling around him, she had those very steamy dreams.  From secretly watching Thomas jerk off in the shower or getting eaten out by him at the beach under a sky full of stars to getting fucked by him hard from behind, bent over a table in the library....all this and more they did in her dreams and it left her so horny in the morning it almost physically hurt.
But she still managed to pretend she was getting over him. At least till he'd kissed her, till she'd kissed him back. Feeling him so close, his lips on hers, their tongues touching, his hands on her skin...it had brought it all back and there was no point in denying it anymore. She loved him.
10
The next morning, when Thomas entered the library for work he was a nervous wreck. Thinking about the conversation he was going to have with Kasey scared the fuck out of him.
She was already there, going through a pile of books, looking tired. Thomas assumed she'd got as much sleep as he did last night, meaning almost none.
"Good morning." he said with a shy smile.
"Good morning." she answered, avoiding his gaze. "How are you?"
"Well...to be honest...not so good..."
"Of course. I'm sorry." Kasey looked down on her shoes, kicking invisible little stones away.
"So we better start working, huh? There's a lot to do." she turned around, concentrating on the books again.
"Kasey..." Thomas stepped closer, touching her shoulder to make her look at him. "We need to talk about last night, don't you think?"
She turned around, facing him, looking him in the eyes for a short moment.
"I said all I had to say last night, Tommy." her voice was weak.
"But I didn't." He swallowed heavily before clearing his throat. Standing so close to her didn't help so he took a little step back, giving her some space. She immediately crossed her arms in front of her chest defensively.
"Kay! Tommy!" they suddenly heard Vince shouting before he came storming into the hut.
"Guys...quick...to the beach." he said, leaning against the door frame out of breath. "They're back!"
"What? Vince, what are you talking about?" Kasey asked dumbfounded.
"It's Parker, hon. Parker's coming home."
Fuck, was all Thomas could think.
Jogging down the way to the beach they heard the ship tooting it's horn several times before even seeing it. When they arrived, half the camp was already gathered on the shore, cheering and waving. Vince and Kasey went down to the beach where Marjorie, Quincy and even Carson were waiting for them. Joe was standing in the water knees deep, awaiting the dink with Parker and his crew in it. Thomas joined his friends who were standing on a little dune to have a good view on the spectacle.
Minho grabbed him by the arm, dragging him right beside him. "And?" he whispered. "Did you talk to her?" Thomas just shook his head, frustration clearly written all over his face. "Shit." Minho said. "Yeah...we were interrupted by Vince..."
"Hey guys, you miss the show." Gally pointed at the beach. "Here comes the man of the hour."
Thomas turned around, watching the guy who had to be Parker Higgins jump off the little boat hugging Joe tightly. Wading ashore he was all smiles, waving at the cheering crowd. He embraced all of his friends one after another and when it was Kasey's turn, for a terribly long moment Thomas thought he was going to kiss her, but to his big relief he just hugged her as warmly as the others, although pressing a gentle kiss on her forehead.
"Wow...look at him. What a snack." Harriet, a very pretty brunette with long dreadlocks said with a smirk. She and Sonja were Aris' best friends, watching over him with vigilance like big sisters. "Snack? He's the whole damn meal! What a hottie." Sonja raised one eyebrow, licking her lips.
"Oh come on, girls. He's not that handsome." Thomas groaned, rolling his eyes.
"Yes, he is." Brenda answered back dryly.
"What the fuck, baby. Are you kidding me?" Frypan stared at his girlfriend flabbergasted.
"Sorry, babe. Of course not as handsome as you." Brenda cooed, kissing him on the lips. Frypan smiled, returning the kiss with feverish passion, causing Jorge to frown and Aris to nudge them. "Guys...get a room." he laughed and everybody but Thomas joined in.
Down at the beach Kasey still couldn't believe Parker was back. But there he was, in all his greek-god-like perfection, wearing nothing but cargo shorts, hanging low on his hips, showing off his v-muscles. His toned body was suntanned, his wavy wheat-blonde hair a sexy mess, his handsome face beaming with happiness.
"So, how's everybody doing?" he asked, not even waiting for an answer before dragging his friends into a group hug. "God, I missed you guys so much."
"We missed you too, Higgins." Marjorie said smiling. "We almost started to think you cleared out, living on a lonely hidden island with your little harem now." she added with a smirk, nodding at his all-female crew, Janine, Cara and Sloane, three of the strongest and toughest women, Kasey had ever met.
Sloane started laughing. "Fuck, Marge. You know even Parker isn't man enough to keep us satisfied all on his own."
"Hey! You better not challenge me." Parker grinned, turning to Vince then. "So we're gonna need some help with unloading the ship, we have tons of stuff on the old lady."
"You should have sent me a radio message, Parker." Vince said with a frown. "We're not really prepared for your return."
"Oh come on, man. You know I love a big entrance." his charming smile was disarming.
"Sure." Vince laughed. "We'll find a solution. But first let me introduce you to the WCKD kids."
"Aren't they all WCKD kids?" Parker asked, spreading his arms, turning around to all the spectators behind them.
"I'm talking about Thomas and his friends."
Vince scanned the beach, searching for them. "There they are. Let's go meet them."
***
"They're coming our way." Sonja said, adjusting her clothes and her long blonde hair quickly, a determined look on her sweet face. "He's mine, sisters."
"You better stop drooling, sweetie. I'm sorry, but there are rumours going round that Parker and Kasey are a thing." Harriet asked to consider.
"They're not." Thomas threw in, his voice surprisingly sharp.
"How do you of all people know that?" Harriet wanted to know.
Thomas just shrugged, trying to play it off, knowing his jealousy would be showing if he said another word.
He was saved by Joe who was calling them.
"Come down here guys, we wanna introduce you."
They climbed down the dune gathering around Joe and the others.
"Hi, I'm Parker." Parker introduced himself, a million dollar smile on his attractive face and Thomas felt the urgent need to punch him on his perfect nose.
"And here we have my badass crew: Sloane, Cara and Janine." The three women waved in unison, greeting them with a short nod.
Minho nudged Thomas discreetly to make him introduce their group too. He took a step forward, clearing his throat.
"Good to meet you guys." he said, managing to fake a smile. "My name's Thomas and these are my friends Minho, Gally, Frypan, Brenda, Jorge, Aris, Harriet and Sonja."
They exchanged their hellos and did some smalltalk about how the mission had been and how things were going in the camp. Thomas let the others carry on and stepped back trying to get a little closer to Kasey who was standing besides Quincy, unusually quiet.
She noticed him and gave him a sheepish smile. "You okay?" Thomas mouthed, trying not to interrupt the current conversation between Cara and Carson who were talking shop about something Thomas not even roughly understood.
She nodded, her smile genuine now, which helped Thomas relax immediately. "You?" she mouthed back. He gave her a "thumb to the side", wiggling his hand indecisively, nodding in Parker's direction, mimicking his thousand-watt-smile which made Kasey laugh and Thomas' heart skip a beat.
"So what are we gonna do about the cargo now." Vince's full dark voice interrupted the lively chit-chat.
"My team can help unload." Gally said.
"Mine too." That was Minho.
"My team can take care of the transport from the beach to the storehouse." Jorge offered.
"I'm gonna take care you're not gonna starve." Fry said with a big grin.
"My team wants to help too." Kasey said. "It's just Thomas and me but we can carry things around and lend a hand when needed."
"Wait..." Parker said, a mischievous smile on his lips. "You really found someone who's as crazy about books as you? So you and kiddo are team bookworm now, princess?" he placed an arm around her shoulder, dragging her into a side hug which made her blush. Princess? Kiddo? Thomas thought, feeling anger rise in his chest. What the fuck... asshole.
"Fuck you, Parker." Kasey said laughing, slapping him on the arm.
He leaned in close to her, whispering in her ear. "I'd rather let you do this, Kay."  Unfortunately he whispered not quietly enough to conceal his words from Thomas who was standing right beside them, almost dying from jealousy.
"Are you done flirting now, man?" Joe interrupted them, obviously a little annoyed. "We have a job to do."
"Sure." Parker said, giving Kasey one last wink.
On their lunch break after a morning full of hard work they all sat at the beach together, enjoying Frypan's delicious chili and freshly-baked bread. Thomas was sitting with his friends but he kept on looking at Kasey, giving her little smiles, that she returned. A funny wordless dialogue unfolded between them, just composed of glances, winks, gestures and facial expressions, brightening up her day and once again it became clear to her, why she loved this man so much. The thought caused a stinging pain in her chest, reminding her of the fact that she couldn't have him. Wouldn't have him. For reasons she couldn't really remember in moments like this, when he confused her brain with all his adorable dorky perfection.
"Mind if I join you?" Parker didn't wait for an answer before sitting down next to Kasey, ending her little telepathic conversation with Thomas. He looked tired and exhausted, although Kasey knew he would never admit it. He took a bite of a big piece of bread and a sip of water before turning to her. "It's good to see you again, Kay. I really missed you." His smile was genuine and warm.
"We missed you too, Parker. You and the girls. I'm happy you made it back in one piece."
"Well, I owe you a date, so I had a very good motivation to stay alive." he looked her in the eyes, his smirk flirtatious now. "And I really hope you missed me a little more than the rest of my crew."
"Yes, of course."
"Good." Parker gave her one of these winks that used to do things to her, that used to make her want him badly, but on this morning it was nothing more than a wink. A wink she returned without feeling it.
"Joe said you're making good progress with the library. You and that boy...what's his name again?"
"The name's Thomas and he's not a boy, Parker." Kasey said with a frown.
"He's not really a man either, is he? More like a pup." Parker teased her with a grin.
"Well, he was man enough to survive the maze trials, the scorch and the breakdown of the last city. Not to mention that he freed Minho from the WCKD headquarters." Kasey snapped.
"All right, all right,Kay...no need to get mad at me, I'm just teasing you." he raised his hands defensively, a surprised frown on his face.
"Yeah...sure. Sorry. I didn't mean to snap, Parks. It's just...Tommy's been through a lot, he's anything but a greenhorn and he deserves some respect."
"Ok, I'll remember that, princess. I promise."
He gave her his best puppy-dog eyes, making her laugh.
"So about that date..." Parker said looking at her expectantly.
"Right...." Kasey replied hesitantly, clearing her throat. She knew she owed him at least one dinner to tell him that things had changed over the last few weeks. That she didn't feel the way about him, she'd felt 9 months ago. That she wouldn't date him.
"I think lunch break's over." Parker interrupted her thoughts, looking around, noticing everybody was about to return to work. "Why don't you come over to my place tonight? Let's have dinner together and talk unhurriedly. Let's call it our first date. What do you think?"
"Sure. I'll be there." Kasey answered, feeling her heart sink.
When Thomas made his next try to talk to her alone later this afternoon, he found Kasey at the beach with the dink, fumbling on a thick rope she was trying to untangle, lost in thought. It was the first time since hours that they weren't surrounded by dozens of people and so Thomas took his courage in both hands and approached her.
"Hey Kasey."
"Thomas." she hardly managed to smile.
"What's up? You look downcast."
"No, I'm fine...just untangling this fucking rope." she said, throwing it away angrily.
Thomas caught it, starting to unravel it without problems. He handed it back to her, cocking his head, knowing exactly that something was off but he didn't want to pry.
"Thanks, Tommy." She looked at him and there was something in her eyes he couldn't quite read.
"Listen, Kay. About last night, there's something I need to tell you."
"Yes?"
"Yes." he cleared his throat. "I should have told you last night, but when Quincy joined us..."
"Speaking of which..." Kasey interrupted him, pointing to the dunes where Quincy was coming down the path together with Joe and Carson.
Thomas took a deep breath, trying not to curse.
"Well, maybe this is bad timing. Why don't we meet at the library to talk later? When we're done here."
" I'm sorry, Timber, but I can't. Parker's invited me over for dinner...." she pressed her lips together, looking at him remorsefully. "I see..." he answered flatly, not even trying to hide his disappointment.

Ninjago Valentine's Week Day 5
OC Ship: This one is an OC x OC ship. The ninja are mentioned.
Sirius took in the sights around him as he walked along the countryside after just leaving a small village on the eastern coast of Ninjago. It was a quaint little fishing village with children collecting shells on the nearby beach and adults preparing their catch for trading with a farming village a few miles in. It was a good resting place for the past night and he even had the chance to hunt down a ‘ghost’ that was haunting the village. Turns out, it was just some troublesome kids with too much time on their hands.
This was what he does. He travels around Ninjago, taking in the sights, experiencing and taking down jerks who want to cause trouble with his powers. He'd roam for a month or two then return to his home in Ninjago City to spend some time with his mom and dad and repeat. Sometimes while he's there, he helps out the ninja if there's trouble around. He was just a helping hand. His his gravitational element does come in handy often but they never actively sought him out. So the Bounty flying overhead was certainly out here to address a mission, right?
“Hey Sirius!” Said male blinked, seeing Jay hanging off the edge of the deck as the Bounty came to a stop overhead.
“Careful idiot!” Cole yelled, smacking him over the head after pulling him back.
“Ow!”
Sirius chuckled then reversed the gravity around himself with a thin mist of blue, leaving him falling upwards. He stopped the effect once he was high enough and landed on deck.
“Well if it isn't the Green Ninja.” Sirius says with a grin, fistbumping Lloyd.
“It's been a while, huh?” Lloyd grinned back.
“That it has.” He says then turned to the other four ninja on deck. “What's up?” He asked curiously.
“Well-” Kai was cut off by the sound of glass shattering.
“That is ‘what's up'.” Zane says with a grimace. “This isn't happening just here, but all over Ninjago. Glass and other reflective items keep shattering and breaking at random. We're sure this has something to do with Umbra since she's the elemental master of reflections but we don't have the best relationship with her and she would probably seriously injure us if we sought her out. She tolerates you most out of everyone we could think of calling.” He explained and Sirius frowned.
Umbra was someone he met while assisting the Ninja. She wasn't good per say but she wasn't evil either. She just steals whatever she wants and heads into the mirror world where no-one can get to her. He managed a few short conversations with her but she wasn't the talkative type. If anyone else were to try, she would promptly beat them silly with their own reflection so he guessed he was their best bet.
“It doesn't sound like something she would do. I mean, sure I don't know her very well but pointless destruction doesn't seem to be her style.” Sirius says as he pondered her.
“That's what we thought as well.” Lloyd spoke up. “She's not one of the good guys but she's not evil either. That's why we're hoping you can get to the bottom of things.”
“But I have no way to get into the mirror world to see what's going on.” Sirius pointed out.
“But you do.” Sensei Wu says as he walked out, holding what looks like a teapot that was covered under cloth. “This is the only way to keep the traveler's tea in the pot and not all over the floor.” Wu explained once Sirius gave him a curious look.
“Traveler's tea… Of course.” Sirius whispered to himself then nodded.  “I'll do my best.” He says and Sensei Wu nodded.
“And do it quickly. The Bounty's rocket boosters are pretty reflective. I've landed the ship just in case but I'd rather not deal with a possible explosion.” Nya says as she walked over.
“And for the sake of your life as well.” Wu adds. “If you remain in the mirror world for too long, you will die.”
“Woah. Um- aren't the risks a little too high for just some glass breaking at random?” Kai asked with a grimace.
“You forget, cars are reflective and people drive in them.” Sirius says, taking the teapot.
“Not to mention eyes! Eyes are reflective Kai!” Jay yelled,  shaking the fire ninja.
“Please don't ever let me imagine that again.” Cole says with a grimace, looking a little green.
“I am reflective.” Zane pointed out and they all looked at him.
“Quick! Grab some sheets!” Cole yelled.
“Already on it!” Nya yelled as she and Kai took off.
Sirius grimaced once something shattered and something metallic groaned.
“Well, I won't dally.” Sirius says then pulled the cloth back enough to free the spout then backed up and poured it in a circle on deck, creating a portal. “Wish me luck.” He says, landing the pot back to Wu as Cole and Jay pushed Zane out of the sun, Cole's top over his head.
“Good luck.” Wu says and he grinned then jumped in.
Once he passed through the space between worlds, he used his powers to slow his fall, landing back on the Bounty. He was surprised when the Bounty appeared empty but could see through the mechanics of the ship that the others were there.
“Alright. If I were Umbra, where in this world would I stay?” He says to himself as he looked around the Bounty, finding it empty.
He blinked once he felt a surge of something- power- and there goes the spout of the teapot. Well, all he really had to to now is follow that flow of power. It's coming from the northwest. He hopped off the Bounty and altered the gravity around him, sending him falling sideways instead, making it appear as if he was flying. Looks like he's heading towards Ninjago City. He increased the gravity around him, making him fall faster. He didn't know how long he had after all. It'll be a shame if he died before he could find out what's gotten into her. He was flying through Ninjago City now, seeing the hustle and bustle through the reflections of the tall buildings he was weaving through. He felt a much closer surge of power and he jolted once several glass windows shattered, sending a shower of glass down below onto the screaming civilians.
“Crap!” He yelled then quickly used his powers to catch the glass rain before clumping it all together.
He looked around and spotted the sea of sand outside the city then sent the ball of sharp glass out there instead, leaving it to fall apart once it touched the sand. He panted as he looked at the people through the intact glass of the closest building, all of them confused but grateful. Wow, that took a lot out of him. Funny, he exerted way more energy than this before and he… His vision wavered before going black. Once he came to, it was to the sight of the ground rushing up to meet him.
“GAH!” He yelled then quickly threw out his powers, curving the gravity around him and making him loop around, falling up instead. “That was too close.” Sirius panted, heart beating a mile a minute as he floated off into the air.
“I'm pretty sure I'm close enough to walk.” He says as he lowered himself to the ground then looked around.
This is the higher end of Ninjago City. All pristine buildings and apartment prices to give you nightmares. She's somewhere around here… He looked up at the higher floors as well and even in car-
“Wait.” He says to himself and looked up again.
The building to his left, a few floors up had a broken window with something familiar sticking out. That's Cole's scythe! The one he spent forever on polishing it until it shone. It caught Umbra's eye during a battle against rouge serpentine and she defeated the serpentine before stealing it from Cole. He's still salty over it. He hopped up there, using his powers as a boost and was surprised at what he saw there.
Umbra was there indeed- wrapped up from head to toe in a blanket as she glared at the space before her, eyes runny and nose red. She sneezed then and the TV screen before her shattered, making her glare harder.
“What are you doing here?” She asked without even glancing at him, sounding off due to her stuffy nose. “Do you really want to die that badly?”
“I had to come to see what was going on with your powers.” Sirius says as he walked over, looking her over before kneeling before her and pressing the back of his hand against her forehead. “You're burning up! You shouldn't be alone while you're this sick!” He says worried, forcing her to lay back on the couch.
“Don't touch me so casually.” She says, glaring at him but it had no effect since she looked terribly sick and cute in her blanket burrito. “You need to leave.” She says, reaching a hand out to the only window that wasn't broken, making it ripple like water.
“I can take care of myself.” She says,  closing her burning eyes due to her pounding headache.
“Not a chance. How about we both get out of here and I'll help you get better.” He says instead, standing.
The next thing he knew, he was blinking awake on the ground, his vision a little spotty.
“You fool. I warned you, didn't I? If you stay here, for more than 4 more minutes, you will die. Three strikes and you're dead. That was your second.” He heard Umbra say as he slowly sat up.
“I will go.” He says, holding his head and she, closed her eyes, satisfied. “But not without you.” He adds and her eyes snapped opened.
“You stupid, arrogant-”
“That my be true but I mean what I said. Let me help you get better. I won't leave until you do. And if I die…” As if on cue, blood ran from his nose then. “Then I die trying at least.” He shrugged.
“I already told you.” She says lowly, throwing the blanket as she stood, seething in anger. “I can take care of my…” Her vision wavered as she stumbled.
“Got you.” He says, catching her before she fell. “You could probably take care of yourself but I'm not keen on finding out if you really can.” He says, lifting her up bridal style before walking over to the window that was still rippling.
“Why… Do you care?...” She asked through fevered pants, somehow feeling worse.
“Why wouldn't I?” Sirius countered. “It's just what friends do.” He says, giving her a beaming smile before walking through into the real world, the mirror going still behind them.
“... Friends, huh?...”
************
For this one, I used some of the mirror world concepts from the Sorcerer's Apprentice and twisted it a bit. I tend to put a lot into description but I'm still posting on mobile which means limited text so I used this site to make them instead. Here is Sirius:
Tumblr media
And this is Umbra:
Tumblr media
Long story short, her family is wayyyy up there in Ninjago Society and her eyes are actual mirrors thus the appearance. My true oc is actually Umbra. She's fairly new (like a week or two) so I never really thought of her and anyone from cannon and when I thought about it, they just wouldn't fit with her. This is a pre relationship fic so I hope it still counts!
