you know, I expected La'an to pull out his file to check on Kirk (since we know she did read his personnel file before) but her actually calling him and making him aware of her own existence, feels a lot stronger, but also it might be hinting at a possible future development (let me dream okay lol)

looking at just his photo would feel kind of final, but her talking to him just doesn't. It opens possibilities because Kirk now knows her.
