Liz!! Congratulations on getting to the end of lacuna!! What a ride it has been! What a journey you’ve taken us on! I meant to do this last night but I fell asleep while I was finding quotes so I only have the first four chapters done! But here are some of my favourite bits!
“It’s not home, nowhere is. But you’ve been here since you were sixteen, years before the rest of your team, it’s as close as you’ll get to belonging somewhere.” - upon rereading this bit got me very emotional. That rebel has given up on ever finding an actual home, that they’re resigned to not having one. And then knowing Shara creates one later?? It makes me cry every time I think about! Just the whole of rebel’s character is so good and this whole chapter is such a great introduction to them!!
“You’ve never felt the pressure to fill any silence with him, he seems to exist so comfortably in it.” And “For a man so rough, he is so careful, he handles you as though you’ll break at the slightest breeze. As though he is wholly undeserving of such sweetness. Part of you thinks he’s convinced he is.” - It’s so good! It’s exactly Din! I am always astonished at how fanfic authors can get the characters so spot on, and every time you write anything I am floored by how you can get across the character so well!! And the relationship between them is so interesting and feels very real to Din’s character!
I think I’m going to split these into chapters because I love them all so much and I want to give you all the praise so look forward to more of this I guess! 💕💕💕
IZZY🥺🥺 thank you for being an endless well of love and support for this series!!!!!
the more i think about it the more i realise that this story really is about someone finding their place in the galaxy and finding a home, which i think is all anyone really wants to do so reading that quote and then realising that by the end rebel HAS found a home and a family,,,, i get Emotional
i sometimes find it really difficult to get into din’s head properly (which i worry shows a lot) so to hear that you think that’s him is astounding!!! i just always get the feeling - especially any time he handles grogu or the way he was with frog lady and the eggs - that he doesn’t necessarily like how he’s perceived as the Big Scary Mandalorian,, like even in the smallest change of body language when Cobb talked about how he didn’t know much ab mandos but that they’re ‘good at killing’. he can hold his creed so close to his heart the way he does AND dislike what it represents to everyone else but he’s also so used to it, which is why i think he’d find it difficult to accept somebody treating him with the same care he does other people
let’s celebrate lacuna!!
