Helpless: unable to defend oneself or to act without help; uncontrollable

Poppy: a herbaceous plant with showy flowers, milky sap, and rounded seed capsules, and many poppies contain alkaloids and are a source of drugs such as morphine and codeine

#im late again #no big surprise there #and i basically fell asleep again #also no big surprise #things to report include: ive found multiple feasible job listings that are remote and are things id like to do and im fully qualified for #so im in the process of working on applying for them #i have high hopes but through my last job search as well as this one ive learned to expect the worst (ie no response at all) #wish me luck #in addition to that ive been working on buffing up some of my commander decks for magic the gathering #both decks i bought premade and decks ive made myself #and i feel so smart and good (but i havent play-tested them yet so that might change) #i also finished my current art piece before going to bed so im proud of myself about that #im excited to start the next one #anyway enough about all of that #i find this prompt interesting because there are a lot of directions to take it #mainly because a 'helpless' 'poppy' (or plant of any kind) can play into a lot of allegories or metaphors #such as romance or grief or climate change etc #i am currently leaning toward the latter for my poem but that may change #regardless i think the poem i write for this one might be a bit more allusion-esque #thanks for reading #writing #writer #creative writing #writing prompt #writeblr #trying to be a writeblr at least
