i knew from the moment i saw him that i wanted to draw vax!! (though at first it was a tough choice between him and alaska haha, they're both so pretty!!) i've mentioned that i absolutely adore his design, and i really do! drawing him was such a delight!! you mentioned here that he loves butterflies and moths, which i thought is the most precious thing so i wanted to draw him (and by extension, lincoln lol) around some butterflies! :D

i have not read ilw, but i really enjoyed seeing all the works you've done your blog!! the edits especially, big fan of peeled lincoln 🥔

i was planning on drawing shreya and verena but when you mentioned here that trystan and haelyn would dedicate the holidays to learning each other's culture, i thought it was really sweet and adorable so i had to draw it!! so here's them baking belladi, which is the only canonically drakovian dessert that i know of (there may have been other dishes mentioned in-game but this is the only one i remember and i haven't finished reading book 2 yet ,, lol)

i also think your mc's backstories are super cool!! it's so fascinating to read how your mcs came to be, down to all the intricate details, and the connections to other mcs from different books?? omg!!

i don't really have much to say about this one lol. i got a new lineart brush and wanted to try it out, so who better to test it out with than my favourite boys?

ik the anatomy is kinda off but at this point i'm just glad i managed to finish this drawing bc it's been sitting in my wips for a while haha. but yeah!! this was one of my fav moments in crimes so i just had to draw it!! can't wait to see these fools again in book two!! (☆▽☆)

timelapse below the cut bc i feel like sharing + rambly artist commentary(?):

idk if it's obvious from the timelapse but the bg and other dancers were last-minute additions lol. initially it was supposed to be just trystan and noel (which is why i did the lineart right after sketching them) and a simple painted bg but just as i was about to colour it kinda struck me as a bit,, bland? so i quickly sketched out the bg they used in the scene (as close as i could anyway, i wasn't about to make it that detailed when i'm gonna gaussian blur it after anyway lmao)

the dancers were the same, i made them faceless and bland so they don't stand out too much (e.g. me changing the blond guy's suit from cream to grey) i did put a little more effort into the dress of the redhead in the far back bc she's supposed to be olivia nevrakis,, i wanted to add her in since she was a pretty integral part of the chapter without making her too pronounced hsdjlkk i drew the red flower and lace details on her dress and everything, it's a shame all of that isn't really visible in the final product but again— gaussian blur'd (also very tiny). in hindsight maybe i should've drawn her closer to the screen or smth but this is about trystan and noel so!!! whatever lol

there are a lot of things i'd change if i ever redraw this (or maybe just the bg) but that's a problem for future me to decide to do or not do (×_×)

sure! i think my drawing process is pretty dull but i don't mind sharing! there's already some under the hydn.mp4 tag, and commissioned pieces usually come with a 30s timelapse as well (whether it's posted or not is up to the commissioner's discretion) c:

i do feel a bit wary about sharing some timelapses bc i tend to switch between colours/layer modes when i'm colouring which can cause flashing lights sometimes and that's,, not good,,; i'll try to do less of that in the future!

anyhow, here's a timelapse of that artura drawing that i still get notes for every now and then :D

This is so random but if you don't mind what brushes do you use for the sketches!? They look amazing!

of course i don't mind!! i'm not about to gatekeep brushes i didn't make lol (although if any of y'all do want the sketch/colour brushes i made, i don't mind sharing too!)

(i use procreate, so keep in mind these are only for procreate!)

for the expression sketches, i used the 6B pencil and Old Beach brushes; both are default procreate brushes (Old Beach is in the 'Artistic' category and 6B pencil is in the 'Sketching' category)

For smaller details, i use a brush called Wet Thin, which comes from a set made by Paolo Domeniconi :D you can find them here
